4. Just Enough Room Island, New York

This island is a part of the thousand Islands’ archipelago, in between New
York and Ontario. This island is Just Enough Room Island, which is made up
of a mere 3,300 squares feet. It is interesting to ponder on what fits on a
‘tennis court’ sized plot. Well, one-thirteenth of an acre seems to be just
sufficient for a cosy cottage, a tree, some shrubs, and also, an itsy-bitsy
beach. Ironically, we cannot step on this privately-owned patch, as the Size
land family purchased it as a holiday sanctuary back in the 1950s, but ogling
from a boat while cruising along the Saint Lawrence River is a fair game.
