Translator’s note
Due to the great di culties of translating this language into English
only part of the “writing on the waves” has been translated.

The sea and the sky are sometimes the same.
On a boat, as in life, nothing is xed.
I do not like the wind.
Water always causes problems.
A small space with lots of activity.
Life in a boat is very enjoyable. There are always little tasks to be done.
The movement of the boat produces dream- lled sleep.

Devido à grande di culdade de traduzir esta língua para o português,
apenas parte do “writing on the waves” foi traduzida.

O mar e o céu às vezes são o mesmo.
Em um barco, como na vida, nada é xo.
Eu não gosto do vento.
A água sempre causa problemas.
Um espaço pequeno, cheio de atividade.
A vida em um barco é muito proveitosa. Sempre há pequenas tarefas a realizar.
O movimento do barco produz um sono cheio de sonhos.

Maria Lucia Cattani was delighted to be awarded an Artist’s Book Residency Grant from
the Women’s Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY, U.S.A., to produce this book in 2014.
Unfortunately her illness prevented acceptance of the grant and production of the book.
This edition was produced posthumously, adhering as faithfully as possible to the original
design project.

Maria Lucia cou muito contente em ter obtido o prêmio da Residência de
Livro de Artista do Women’s Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY, E.U.A., para produzir este livro em 2014.
Infelizmente sua doença impediu o recebimento do prêmio e realização do livro.
Esta edição foi desenvolvida postumamente, seguindo o mais elmente possível o projeto original.
