They saw an open-air music concert at the roadside. Mei-ling said, “Let’s stay and watch.” Chien-hung started walking toward the empty seats at front row. “Are you kidding?” cried Chia-hao. “Those seats are reserved for the ghosts. We had better go home. The sky is turning dark, and people are starting to worship the little demons at the roadside.” “I’m getting scared,” replied Mei-ling.
1 宸宏說：「我以前也很怕黑，但現在我的膽子大多了！我可以跟你 分享我從黑暗學會的事嗎？」 「當然好！」玫菱說。 宸宏開始說故事──一個幫助他不再害怕黑暗的故事。 Chien-hung said, “I used to be scared of the dark, but now I am bolder. Can I tell you something that I learned about darkness?” “Sure!” replied Mei-ling. Chien-hung began to tell a story that helped him with his fear of the dark.
2 起初，上帝創造天地。大地混沌虛無，還沒有成形，黑暗籠罩著深 淵，上帝的靈盤旋在水面上。上帝說：「要有光。」光就出現了。 上帝看光是好的，就把光和黑暗分開。上帝稱光為「晝」，稱黑暗 為「夜」。 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. There was darkness over the surface of the waves. At that time, the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light. He also made the stars. God put the lights in the huge space of the sky to give light on the earth. He put them there to rule over the day and the night. God... even sees me in the dark! At night it is like I am covered in the light! It is a fact: darkness is not dark to God. He sees through the darkness and watches over me.
