Creating a New Parent or Guardian Contact
Use this page to add parent or guardian information into the student's account.
PERMISSIONS
To follow the steps listed below, you will need to have "Edit Students" checked under Student Accounts. To validate
your permissions, click here.
1. Under the Students tab, select Manage Students.
ALTERNATIVE METHOD 1
Click the Manage Students button from the homepage.
2. Click the Filters button.
3. Add or remove filters to manage specific students. To find out about each filter, click here.
4. Select Apply.

5. Check the box next to the student.
6. Click Update Student.
7. Under the Parent/Guardian Contact Information section, click Add Parent/Guardian.
8. Enter the contact information into the appropriate boxes.

9. Click Save Parent/Guardian.
10. The parent needs to be registered, so if he/she is not, click OK.

Sending Scheduled Progress Reports to Parents

When are progress reports delivered to parents?
Daily reports are sent out at 6:00 am (MST). Weekly reports are sent out on Mondays at 4:00 am (MST). Monthly
reports are sent out on the first day of the month at 1:00 am (MST).
What is the cut-off time for work completed to be included in the emailed progress report?
Anything submitted prior to 6 AM MST will be included on the daily Parent Progress Report email. The weekly report
cutoff is 4 AM MST on Mondays, and the monthly is 1 AM MST on the first.
Will a parent/guardian receive a progress report if the student has been archived despite having an active
enrollment? What if the student is active but the enrollment has been disabled?
The parent/guardian will not receive an email progress report in either situation.
Use this page to schedule progress reports to be sent to a parent/guardian.
Parents may want to keep an eye on their child's progress. Edgenuity offers them the ability to do so by receiving either
daily, weekly, or monthly reports.

BEFORE YOU MOVE ON...
A parent/guardian needs to be added to a student's account in order to send progress reports.
If a parent's account currently does not receive progress reports, follow the instructions to edit it here.
1. For parents to receive a progress report, the box must be checked.
2. Determine the frequency the parent wants to receive the report: 1
▪ Daily: reports are sent out at 3:00 am Arizona time.
▪ Weekly: reports are sent out on Mondays at 3:00 am Arizona time.
▪ Monthly:reports are sent out on the first day of the month at 2:00 am Arizona time.

Enabling the Family Portal Access

Can a parent access data for more than one student? For example, a father would like to monitor the progress
of his 6th grade son and his 8th grade daughter.
Yes, a parent can be linked to more than one student account. You will need to provide the access codes for each
student to the parent. A parent just needs to follow the steps on this link for each child. The password step will only
be required with the first child.

The Family Portal is a site that allows parents access to current information about their student's progress and
performance.

TIP FOR SUCCESS
While email is not required, it is recommended as an email will be sent with the link to the parent portal and
provides easy access for future log in attempts.
9. For parents who want to access the Family Portal, the Enable dial must be selected.
10. Make note of the Activation Code because it is needed to provide this information to the parent/guardian.

CAUTION!
The activation code is a security feature to protect the privacy of your student and his/her data. Edgenuity will
not provide the access code in any email communication or support phone call to ensure that your student's
privacy is maintained.
