Elderbank Early Years Newsletter
19th June 2020

Dear Parent/Carers,

We are now approaching the final week of this session. This marks
the end of a full term that we have not been together in the Early
Years. Although we are sad about this and missing everyone so much
we would like to celebrate the memories we have made together, the
milestones that have been achieved and the friendships that have
been formed.

We are excited to let you know that next week you will all receive a
visit at home from a member of the EY team with a special delivery
for your child. If your child is moving on to Primary 1 at Elderbank
Primary School this will be a joint visit with their new teacher and will
be a great opportunity for you and your child to meet them.
Please note that in line with the Scottish Government guidelines they
will be doors step visits and follow social distancing restrictions.
The visits will take place on Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and
Thursday 25th. The EY team are so excited to see their little faces
and catch up with you all.

This week’s challenge is to create some more precious memories at
home and share these with everyone. This involves your little star
performing their unique and special talent. We would love to see
them sing, dance, tell a joke, showcase their skills from a hobby or
share their special interests. Anything that makes your child happy
or smile! 

We have also set the challenge to hold your own end of term party.
This a great opportunity to get dressed up and have fun together as a
family. The current situation has been a huge change for everyone
and has had a big impact upon the lives of the children. This is a
great way to put a smile on their face and have lots of fun! Please
email any photographs or videos to:
[email protected]

On behalf of the Early Years Team I would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for your continued and ongoing support
throughout this rollercoaster session. It has been a pleasure to work
in partnership with you and your child and be a part of their learning
journey this academic year. Keep an eye on your email inbox and the
EY blog next week for some fantastic and emotional tributes to your
amazing wee people.

Information will be distributed soon which will provide details of the
format of next session whether your child will be returning to Early
Years or transitioning to Primary 1.

Take care and stay safe,
Mrs Carruthers,
Senior Early Years Practitioner
