I hope my update finds everyone off to a great start to their June and Summer! We certainly started summer off with a bang with our River Ranch reopening party, Memorial Day Weekend, launched a new Menu at River Ranch, and the official start to our Golf Championship season with our Member Member! Not to mention, it’s certainly been warm since Memorial Day! The Splash Pad has been a huge hit so far this summer we’re glad to see everyone enjoying it. Thank you for your continued feedback and patronage, we’re excited for this summer coming up to deliver a great Membership experience for you. At River Ranch, we unveiled a new Menu a couple of weeks ago. We took into account some fresh ideas from your feedback and the results have been great. The Fish and Chips cod fried in local brew Hidden Hills blonde batter, the Pulled Pork Nachos with BBQ pulled pork, black bean puree, guacamole and salsa, and Ranch Chicken Sandwich with shredded romaine, tomato, RR secret sauce, brioche bun, and your choice of grilled or crispy chicken, have been the leaders in the Clubhouse so far. The Buffalo, Garlic parmesan, and Buffalo Chicken Tenders have been enjoyed by all ages, with the kids enjoying the new Mozzarella Sticks served with Swank Farms marinara sauce. On the lighter side, the Watermelon Salad has been a favorite so far, with cubed watermelon, cucumbers, feta, and a peach vinaigrette. Don’t forget the Waldorf Salad, with seedless red grapes, celery, spiced candied walnuts and citrus dressing, is great for these warm summer days as well. Even with all the new items, the Poke Bowl still carries the buzz as the Ranch go-to with the white rice, Ahi Tuna, wakame, cucumber, and pickled ginger. Please come try some of these new items, and let us know what you think! Thank you for your continued support with our Taco Tuesday’s and Pizza Nights! Our past two we’ve sold out! We hope to see you at there in June as well. I hope to see everyone at our Annual Charity Day, Wednesday June 26th. This partnership is a proud one, dating back 26 years providing support to the Breast Cancer Assistance Group of Monterey County. Charity Day is put on by our Women’s Golf Association and Tennis Clubs, where all proceeds are donated to BCAG. Please consider participating in our Tennis & Pickleball Tournament, or our Golf Tournament. There are other sponsorship opportunities as well. I wanted to extend a big thank you, to Susan Jordan and her committee of Members who are all dedicating their time to this longstanding tradition of charity. We are working on finalizing a date for our new Winemaker’s dinner. Stay tuned for that as well. Finally, I know some of you have wondered about the removal of two swings on property – one by the Valley Lawn and one at the River Ranch. The Valley Lawn swing was removed at the behest of our arborist, as that tree is rather old. The one at River Ranch was removed due to chairs sitting on our new raised platform. We are currently looking where we could place these swings, as I know they are iconic to Carmel Valley Ranch and a joy for families.
