Emblem
The Emblem of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is a shield
with four quadrants. Each quadrant contains an image and a specific
background colour which bears a definite meaning.An open book is
placed on top of the shield.The images found in the quadrants on the
shield are:
• A tiger in royal yellow charging courageously towards the right
side, on a background colour of red.
• An atomic symbol on a background of yellow.
• A symbol of technology, on a blue background.
• A red hibiscus flower on a white background. Pg 8
Book
The book symbolizes knowledge, which is UKM’s main role
as an institution of higher learning and research centre.
Shield
The shield is a symbol of strength. It symbolizes UKM’s
capability in upholding its role as an institute of higher
learning in the country.
Tiger
The tiger is a symbol of courage and power.The tiger reflects
a Malaysian society with the Malay culture as its basis.A
courageous charging tiger embodies the readiness of UKM to
fight ignorance, evil and dishonesty.

Atom dan Technology
The atomic and technology symbol highlights the notion of
national advancement based on modern science and
technology. UKM as a knowledge centre is responsible in
producing knowledgeable human capital in all fields to
meet the needs of the country’s development.
Hibiscus
The hibiscus is the national flower of Malaysia.The five
petals of the flower are the five pillars of Rukun Negara
which are always upheld by the people of Malaysia.

Chancellor hall tun abdul
razak (dectar)
Chancellor Hall Tun Abdul Razak or Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul
Razak (DECTAR), is a main hall of the oldest and largest in the
University.This hall was named as DECTAR because Tun Abdul
Razak is a UKM first chancellor and Tun was also the 2nd prime
minister of Malaysia. DECTAR and Panggung Seni are known as
UKM culture centre. It was Built in 1971, on an area of 3.5
hectares, it was used for convocations since 1973 again.The Council
is also used for official events such as university final
examination, staff awards ceremony, banquet feast and celebration
of independent threshold. Panggung Seni is the experiment theater
that were used for stage theater performances.This building is
connected with DECTAR.

DANAU GOLF CLUB
A walk through the 18 holes of Danau Golf Club will lead to the
amazing revelation that the course is nature designed. With the
introduction of indigenous flora, even the ubiquitous palm and
rubber trees, from the plantations which the course was created,
have blended in to give that added aesthetic charm. Danau Golf
Club were operate from 10 a.m to 8 p.m.

Taman paku pakis
Fernarium UKM or Taman Paku Pakis Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia is a Conservation Botanical Garden situated in 20 acres
at the front of Biological Science Building, Faculty Science and
Technology. Fernarium UKM as a botanical garden, hold
documented collections of living pteridophyte for the purpose of
scientific research, conservations, public display and educations.
This garden has been recognized by a world-based conservation
body of England, namely “Botanic Gardens Conservations
International “.This Type of Botanic Garden is only a few in the
WORLD. Exploring the world pteridophyte and theor relationships,
we aim to protech and sustain biodiversity for human wellbeing
and the planet.

HOTEL PURI PUJANGGA
HOTEL PURI PUJANGGA was incorporated on 27 April 2010 to
manage commercial hospitality activities by offering affordable
accommodation, seminar facilities and fine dining, for UKM
visitors and associates. HOTEL PURI PUJANGGA is strategically
located in the middle of Malaysia’s federal administrative centre,
the iconic garden city of Putrajaya and capital city of Kuala
Lumpur.
Hotel Puri Pujannga have been subsidisries by UKM HOLDINGS
SDN.BHD. This actually made HOTEL PURI PUJANGGA an
advantage for business travellers who commute between those two
areas. Furthermore, its location in the prestige university village has
established HOTEL PURI PUJANGGA as a well-known landmark
with its own solid clientele.

Tun seri lanang library
(PTSL)
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Library (UKM) was established
simultaneously with the establishment of Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia on 1970, at Lembah Pantai, Kuala Lumpur. It comprises
the main library and its four branches.The main library, named as
Tun Seri Lanang Library (PTSL) is situated at the main campus
grounds at Bangi, while the four branches libraries are namely, the
Malay World & Civilization Library (Bangi), Law Library (Bangi), Dr.
Abdul Latiff Medical Library (Kuala Lumpur) and the Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center Library (Cheras). PTSL has
been recognized as the largest library in Southeast Asia’s.

PTSL has been officiated by DYMM Tunku Ja’afar Ibnu Al-
Marhum Tunku Abdul Rahman. PTSL have 6 floors and each floor
have offer students a discussion rooms and carrel room. Carrel
room is normally for students who want to study by himself while
the discussion room is used for a group of students to study
together and do a presentation.The have offered 3 discussion rooms
in forth flour, 5 discussion rooms in second floor and 10
discussions room in third floor.

PUSANIKA
PUSANIKA (PUSAT ANEKA KEMUDAHAN) is a facilities centre
for the students.This building was officially launched on 4 August
1983 by YB Datuk Dr. Sulaiman Hj. David, that is Ex- Malaysian
Education Minister. RM6 Million have been used to build
pusanika and it take 2 years to complete the construction.
Pusanika Managment Center (PUSANIKA-UKM) are located in
level 5. Many facilities are available there such as bookshop,
ATM and pos laju courier.

INSTITUTE OF THE MALAY WORLD
AND CIVILIZATION (ATMA)
The Institute of Malay world and Civilization (ATMA) was
initially established as an Institute of Language, Literature and
Malay Culture (IBKKM) in December 1972.The aim of the
institute was to offer postgraduate studies i.e. Masters in Letters
and Doctor of Philosophy and research into Language, Literature
and Malay Culture as well as become the main reference center
for these subjects.The changing of the name from IBKKM to
ATMA in 1992 had expanded the areas of research to include the
whole of Malay world and civilization.

Since its establishment, the institute is driven by a general
conception of the Malay world and Civilization field which
includes philosophy, beliefs, material culture, identity and all
aspects of life within Malay cosmology. It is further expanded to
include landscaping, ocean and outer space.

Muzium warisan akademik
The Muzium Akademik Warisan UKM is another new landmark in
this historic campus.The establishment of this museum is driven by
the rapid development, success and achievement in various
academic and management fields since the establishment of UKM
on May 18, 1970. Every passing day is a string and memory for
SMEs who have succeeded in various challenges in their efforts to
stand up as a center of excellence knowledge.The existence of this
Museum will empower and enliven the image of the heritage of
knowledge, the results of thought, research and innovation of
UKM scholars and scientists.

The Academic Heritage Museum is also a continuation of efforts
to the UKM Gallery located on the second floor, Chancellory
Building which was officially opened on 29 July 2000 in
conjunction with the 30th Year Celebration of UKM.The Academic
Heritage Museum highlights the growth, success and glory of
UKM at the age of 38 years.

Galeri tuanku canselor
The UKM Gallery is another new landmark on the beautiful
campus.The gallery is a recording of the historical sequences of
the formation, development and excellence of the University for
three centuries. Since its inception on May 18, 1970, every passing
day is a history of UKM which has succeeded through various
obstacles and challenges of its business to stand as a center of
excellence in knowledge.

The UKM Gallery is strategically located, at the 2nd level,
University Administration Building which is the focus of various
University activities, this area is approached by all citizens of the
University and the general public.This gallery focuses on the
history of the struggle and the establishment of UKM. Gallery
built in the space previously known as Sri Menanti Room, its
strategic position will make it easier for guests and University
visitors to visit.The UKM Gallery conceptualizes the Malay
tradition of decorating, using woodcarving decorations, plus the
keris décor as a Malay weapon and crochet woven, decorating
exhibition boards.

Fep Lecture Halls
• There are 5 lecture halls that available in this faculty and
most of the halls are located in level 1.
• But there are one lecture halls that are located in level 2 that
is Lecture Halls 5 and the lecture halls are rarely used
because it was smaller than the others.
Fep Foyer Staircase
• This is a main entrance for Fep and it was the most beautiful
staircase in Fep.
• A place that you can get to know about alumni of Fep.

Fep Undergraduate Students Affairs
• This office is for undergraduate’s students if they have any
problems about their studies.
• They also can get many information about undergraduate
program.
• Students usually go to this office to ask for confirmation
letter about their studies and to solve their problems about
their manual registration of the subject.
Fep Mini Library
• One of the facilities that students can used if they don’t want to
go to PTSL but want to study in the library.
• The faculty provides this library for the convenience of the staff,
students and visitors.
• Discussion also can be conduct in here.
• Normally final year students will come to this library to
looks for the previous thesis as the references. Pg 27
STUDENTS AFFAIRS OFFICE OF FEP
• Students rarely go to this place compare to the Undergraduate
Students Affairs.
• Most of the students will come here to apply for a permission
to use the faculty's equipment’s and to submit a form to about
application to more credit hours in current semester.

• Favorite place for the students to take pictures
• This is the only place that have the largest UKM LOGO that
was carved up from the stones.
• This place is located near Faculty of Islamic Studies.
