COUNTABLE
NOUNS

คำ น า ม นั บ ไ ด้ เวลาถามจำนวนใช้
How many + คำนามพหูพจน์
คำนามนับได้มีทั้งคำนาม
เอกพจน์ (singular noun) คือมี เพื่อถามจำนวน เช่น
เพียงสิ่งเดียวหรืออันเดียวเวลานำ

ไปใช้ ก็ใส่จำนวน 1 หรือ one ไว้
ข้างหน้ าก็ได้ หรือใช้ a หรือ an How many pencils do you want?
นำหน้ าก็ได้ เช่น
How many bottles do you have?

an elephant
one pen

นอกจากนี้คำนามนับได้ยังเป็ น สามารถใช้จำนวนนับ
คำนามพหูพจน์ (plural noun)ได้ (1, 2, 3,….) นำหน้ าเพื่อบอก
คือมีหลายอัน หลายคนหรือหลาย จำนวนได้และคำนามตัวนั้นก็
ชิ้น และเติม s/es เข้าไปเพื่อบอก เติม s/es เพื่อให้เป็นคำนาม
ว่ามีจำนวนมากกว่าหนึ่ง แต่บาง พหูพจน์ เช่น
คำจะมีการเปลี่ยนรูป เช่น
Two rooms = 2 rooms
a man two men Fifteen boxes = 15 boxes
a tooth three teet

She has three dogs.

แปลว่า เธอมีสุนัขสามตัว

I own a house.
แปลว่า ฉันเป็นเจ้าของบ้าน

I would like two books please.
แปลว่า ฉันต้องการหนังสือสองเล่ม

How many friends do you have?
แปลว่า คุณมีเพื่อนกี่คน?

How many candles are on that birthday cake?
เค้กวันเกิดก้อนนั้นมีเทียนกี่เล่ม?

There's a man at the door.
มีผู้ชายคนหนึ่งอยู่ที่ประตู

I have some friends in New York.
ฉันมีเพื่อนที่นิวยอร์ก

How many chairs are there?
มีเก้าอี้กี่ตัวอยู่ที่นั่น?

การเปลี่ยนคำนามนับได้
จากเอกพจน์เป็นพหูพจน์

การเปลี่ยนจากคำนามนับได้ single เป็นคำนามนับได้แบบ
plural ง่ายๆ แค่เพิ่มตัว ‘s’ในตัวอักษรสุดท้าย
ยกตัวอย่างเช่น:

→ →pen pens, table tables,…

แต่ก็มีบ้างคำศัพท์อยู่ในกรณีพิเศษเช่น

คำนามที่มีตัวอักษรสุดท้าย (ลงท้ายด้วย) เป็น CH, SH, S, X,
O ต้องเพิ่ม “es” เข้าตัวอักษรสุดท้าย เช่น:

→ → →a class classes, a bus Buses, Brush Brushes,
→ → →Math Matches, Box Boxes, Fox Foxes




คำนามที่มีตัวอักษรสุดท้ายเป็น Y เมื่ออยากเปลี่ยนเป็นคำนาม
plural เราจะเปลี่ยนตัวอักษร “y” เป็น “i” และเพิ่ม “es” เช่น:

→ → → →a candy candies, City Cities, Duty Duties, Day
→ →Days, Boy Boys, Key Keys

คำนามที่มีตัวอักษรสุดท้ายเป็น F, FE, FF เราลบทิ้งไปและเอา
ตัว “ves” แทนตัวอักษรสุดท้าย

→เช่น:
A knife knives



เติม “es” ท้ายคำนามที่ลงท้ายด้วย “o” และหน้ า “o” เป็น

พยัญชนะ

เช่น:

→ → →radio
→Piano
radios, Bamboo Bamboos, Photo Photos,
Pianos

จากเอกพจน์เป็นพหูพจน์

มีคำนามบ้างคำที่อยู่ในกรณีพิเศษ หมายถึงว่ามันจะไม่ตามเกณ์ที่พูดดัง
กล่าวตามตารางดังต่อไปนี้

UNCOUNTABLE
NOUN

How much + คำนามเอกพจน์
คำนามนับไม่ได้เป็ นได้แค่คำ
นามเอกพจน์เท่านั้น จะไม่มีรูป เพื่อถามจำนวน เช่น
พหูพจน์ เมื่อไม่มีรูปพหูพจน์ก็จะ

ใส่จำนวนลงไปไม่ได้ เช่น
How much water do you drink
oil จะไม่ใช้ two oil per day?
paper จะไม่ใช้ two paper
How much salt did you put in
this soup?

และจะใส่ a / an นำหน้ าไม่ได้
แต่เราจะใส่ภาชนะเข้าไปด้วยเพื่อ
ให้นับเป็นจำนวนได้ เช่น

Two bottles of oil

Five packs of salt

A loaf of bread

คำนามนับไม่ได้

คำนามนับไม่ได้ (Uncountable Noun) เป็นคำนามที่เจอบ่อยเช่น
tea, sugar ,water, air, rice, knowledge, beauty, anger, fear,
love, money, research, safety, evidence…เป็นคำนามที่เราไม่
สามารถระบุจำนวน หรือบอกว่ามีกี่ชิ้นกี่อันได้ ทั้งหมดเรียกชื่อว่า
Uncountable Noun หรือคำนามนับไม่ได้นั้นเอง

หากต้องการระบุปริมาณของคำนามนับไม่ได้ จำเป็นต้องอธิบายเพิ่ม
ด้วยการใช้คำเหล่านี้ เช่น some, a lot of, much, a bit of, a great
deal of เป็นต้น หรือใช้คำที่บอกปริมาณอย่างเจาะจง เช่น a cup of, a
bag of, 1kg of, 1L of, a handful of, a pinch of, an hour of, a
day of.

แปลว่า มีงานวิจัยมากมายถึงสาเหตุของโรคนี้




He gave me a great deal of advice before my interview.
แปลว่า เขาให้คำแนะนำมากมายก่อนการสัมภาษณ์

Can you give me some information about uncountable nouns?
แปลว่า คุณช่วยให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับคำนามนับไม่ได้หน่อยได้ไหม

Measure 1 cup of water, 300g of flour, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
แปลว่า ตวงน้ำ 1 ถ้วยแป้ง 300 กรัมและเกลือ 1 ช้อนชา

How much rice do you want?
แปลว่า คุณต้องการข้าวเท่าไหร่
