The Confession

CALL TO CONFESSION Pastor Greg Anderson

Just As I Am, Without One Plea (Hymn 442, Stanza 1)

Just as I am, without one plea
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou biddest me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come; I come!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of stars and angels,
God of sheep and lambs,
God of abundance and grace:
You know us well, better than we know ourselves.
You hear us cry “Glory!” and “Praise!”
Yet you watch us tear things apart with our words and deeds.
You hear us say “Thy will be done” and “use me, Lord.”
And you watch us neglect worshipping you and do nothing in response to
cries for help from others.
You know us, and you love us, and you forgive us.
Hear us now say, “Help us to change; turn us around,
Make us more worshipful, loving and hopeful.”
This we pray in Jesus’ name.

Please continue in silent prayer for confession of personal matters.

D ECLARATION OF GOD’S PARDON
Leader: Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Just As I Am, Without One Plea (Stanza 3)
Just as I am, thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come; I come!

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE Pastor Greg Anderson

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

OFFERING
Thank you for giving by text, online, or mailing your gifts into the church office.

The Word

SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 12:1-8 Pastor Greg Anderson

WORD IN SONG All Good Things by Shelton Becton

Seek ye first the kingdom of His love, make Him first in everything you do. If you’ll

just trust and never doubt what He said, all good things will be added unto you.

Twice He fed the multitude with the smallest bit of food, and they all gave thanks to
God that day. Still today, we won’t believe that to give is to receive, that the words
He said will never fade.

He’s got everything you need. All He asks is that you heed and be faithful to the very
end. When that judgment day has come, don’t you want to be the one just to see His
face and call Him friend?
