Qutub Minar
It was built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-din
Aibak.
He started the construction of its
rst storey in 1192, which was later
completed by Iltutmish.
It’s conical tower is a wonderful
example of Indo-Islamic Afghan
Architecture.

Taj Mahal
It was commissioned in 1632 by
Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to
house the remains of his late wife,
Mumtaz Mahal.
It is in uences by Indian, Persian
and Islamic architectural principles.
It is made of white marble, the
colour of which seems to change
according to the time of the day.

India Gate
It stands as a memorial to 84,000
spillers of the British Indian Army
who died between 1914 and 1921 in
the First World War.
It is an arch made of basalt and 26
metres high.
It was designed by Edwin Lutyens.
Charminar
It was built in 1591 by Muhammad
Quli Qutb Shah.
He commissioned the construction
of the mosque after he shifted his
capital from Golconda to
Hyderabad.
It was made using mostly granite,
but also some marble.
