SUNDAY JUNE 10, 2018

6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. BLOK Monument Bus Tour- (Casual attire to include shorts and flip flops) Doug
Wareham is a fabulous tour guide and he makes this a fun evening for all.

MONDAY JUNE 11, 2018

11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. [For BLOK Spouses] Chief of Staff Panel in U.S. Capitol Building followed by personal
tour of Capitol – Senate meeting room - LBJ Room – Sharon will escort spouses from
hotel- leaving at 10:00am

6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. KBA Planned event for Bankers and Spouses–
Cocktail Reception and heavy hors d’oeuvres at Promontory Interfinancial Rooftop

Tickets are $75 per person for hosted bar and food.

golf shirt for the guys and sun dress or capri pants for the ladies. A little nicer than the
capitol tour but not super dressed up- I wear something that I might wear to a friend’s

TUESDAY JUNE 12, 2018

10:00 am- 3:30 p.m. Spouse event planned by Mavis Johnson, wife of KBA Chairman Ron Johnson.
White House tour- This tour is at no cost. Confirmation of tour time will not be
received until May 29th.
(Business casual, again you’ll see lots of golf shirts for the gentlemen and sun dresses,
capri pants or slacks on the ladies. Not casual enough for shorts but not dressed up
either)

Tuesday evening is open for personal planning for both bankers and spouses.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 13, 2018

10:00 am- 3:30 p.m. Spouse event planned by Mavis Johnson, wife of KBA Chairman Ron Johnson.
Dumbarton Oaks Garden Tour followed by lunch- This tour is at no cost
(Business casual, again you’ll see lots of golf shirts for the gentlemen and sun dresses,
capri pants or slacks on the ladies. Not casual enough for shorts but not dressed up
either)

6:30 p.m. -Federal Affairs Reception (Business Attire- coat and tie for men and business suites or nice cocktail dresses
for the ladies. There are beautiful food stations placed around the room. Some people stand at tall boy tables or they
sit at various small tables around the room. It is conversational.

Things to consider for the Washington DC trip:

Our room block is open from Friday June 10 - Friday June 16 at $269.00 per night. You can come early or stay late to
make a vacation out of the trip. When booking your room please request to be included in the Kansas Bankers
Association Annual mtg group. Reservations must be made prior to Thursday May 17th.

Attire
The dress is listed in italics for all events so you’ll know how to pack. It is generally very hot in June so please bring
enough clothes to change between daytime and evening events.

This is a business event. Spouses are encouraged to attend and families are welcome. We encourage you to consider
childcare needs for any children who are not old enough to be in the hotel alone during evening entertainment times.

Transportation
Purchase metro cards for train transportation You can read about the metro transportation at the following website.

You can purchase tickets in the train station across from the hotel.

Touring-
You will have the opportunity to receive a fabulous tour of the U.S. Capitol that the general public doesn’t see. Capitol
staff from one of our Kansas delegates will be giving a private tour following the chief of staff panel on Monday.
Also, the monument tour on Sunday night will include; The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam
Memorial, FDR Memorial, WWII memorial, Korean Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial.

*It is recommended that you reserve tickets in advance for many highlights of DC.
