Kindness - Jiya Aggarwal, II-B

Kindness is another way of expressing love and
compassion and one can express kindness by:

Keeping an eye on your friends.
Including everyone when you play.
Noticing when people are sad or lonely.
Defending people who are bullied.
Never talking about someone unkindly.
Encouraging and supporting everyone.
Sharing what you have with others.
Showing that you care about people.

Friends - Navika Jindal, III-B

We feel love and compassion
As very pleasant emotions.

It’s in nature first, then in parents
Endless love and compassion in real friends.

Friends are the family you make,
It may be real or fake.

Real friends double our joys
Divide the grief of all the guys.
It’s safe, loving, and comfortable
So, we put a friendship label.
It’s the hardest thing to explain

But needs faith to maintain.
It requires a very fine nature
Keep on laughing when all your friends gather.
When we learn to live for friends
To love and compassion, there is no end.

Family - Nirgun, II-C

They’re not looking for perfection
You’re their parent; their all.

They just want to know they’re loved
And that you’ll come when they call.

They don’t look at you in horror
When you haven’t brushed your hair.
In fact, they don’t care what you look like.

They just love that you are there.
They look to you for answers,

Perhaps a million questions a day
Because you’re their source of wisdom

So, it matters what you say.
It’s not about status

Or diamonds and gold.
It’s about genuine smiles
And a warm hand to hold.
And they look to you for kindness.
For unconditional love.
You are mum. You are dad.
You are more than enough!

Simply Love - JS Dheemahi, II-C

Love is an amazing feeling.
A caring heart to help others with compassion.
Love is the need of each person since the day of birth.
Love is divine. Everyone should cherish one another:

animals, birds and humans.
We should love and care for plants.

Love everyone.

Life is undoubtedly full of struggles. Most adults have seen so much in life
and are supposed to face all the difficulties but at the same time, we are also
supposed to be responsible for not letting any pain reach the younger gen-
eration. This time the innocent children dealt with being locked-down when it
was the golden period of their life to enjoy to the fullest: with friends, outings
, school , games and exploring the world around them.

The Special Wing students were also severely affected by this pandemic.
They needed the best interventions, resources and support – directly and
physically by professionals for their better growth and development.Even
though it was the most difficult period for their parents, they got a chance
to interact personally and openly and understood their children deeply with
no compulsion – no time limit. This was the positive face of the pandemic.

During this pandemic, AFGJI supported the Special Wing students in the
online mode and helped the parents to bring out the best in their wards. The
parents worked enthusiastically with their children. Before the pandemic,
AFGJI Special Wing had all trained Special Educators, Speech therapists
and Occupational therapists and now with great pride, we announce that we
have trained and determined parents too, who are the partners in training
and educating the CWSN. With this, we are also finding our students to be
brighter and more confident in their performance in comparison to the ear-
lier situation. This is real development.

The AFGJI Special Wing team of educators and parent experts are unstop-
pable and will slowly and steadily reach the top.

Success Story of
Atharva Midha
(Primary B)
By Mrs Ritu Midha

This is about Atharva Midha, my son, during lockdown. He
has achieved many things during this lockdown. As we got
more time to spend with each other, we’ve done many

things together. Whether it is related to
academics or his physical well-being, we've
done it all. To be specific, he has practised dancing on many songs with his
sister and even participated in a competition at the state level, which was
a proud moment for all of us as we never knew before that he enjoyed
dancing. He has started doing yoga and exercises during lockdown on
a regular basis which he wasn’t able to do earlier. He has also started
expressing himself in a better way by joining four words. I worked on
his sight words and he can recognise almost forty words now. By this,
I came to know that his visual memory is strong.

Overall, this lockdown gave us many opportunities to explore his
strengths and polish them.

Love & Compassion –
The Essence of Life

By Sabina Oberoi
Special Educator

Dalai Lama once said, “Love and Compassion are
necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot
survive.” This holds true.
Love, compassion, honesty, faith and kindness should
be nurtured in human beings since childhood so that the
child grows into a good adult. Love is a supreme human
virtue and it is the foundation stone of kindness and happiness.
One should be beautiful inside out. Love can be for a person, an
animal or even God. It is an intense feeling of affection, attachment,
care and respect for someone, which makes life beautiful and provides
peace of mind.

On the other hand, compassion is being empathetic, putting oneself
in others’ shoes and understanding how they feel. Compassion is the
willingness to give, to forgive and accept people as they are. It gives
a sense of satisfaction as it is genuine, sincere and from the heart.
One can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life by being
compassionate. It is the greatest gift one human being can share
with another.

We can develop love and compassion in many simple ways:
by being affectionate, listening and communicating with
sincerity, being kind towards elders, animals, helping
others, offering a hug and gentle touch when

required (as it
has a great healing power,)
understanding other persons’ feelings
and point of view in times of distress, being
respectful towards others, treating others the
way they’d like to be treated and also treating others
the way you’d like to be treated, accepting others’ flaws
and weaknesses and last but not the least, by being a good
person.
“A beautiful heart will bring things into your life that all the
money in the world couldn’t get you.”
