Grief Is Normal
By Max Miller
Robert Benson, a typical 13
year old boy. His brother, Aidan,
is a lot like Robert except he
plays baseball. Robert is a QB
at his school Milford Middle
School. He is the top 13 year
old QB in the state and hopes
for a future with some all-stars.
Robert’s home life is not healthy,
he can’t have friends over
because of his parents always
yelling at each other. Robert can
handle it but he knows Aidan
cannot take as much as Robert.
Aidan started slipping up on his
grades and couldn’t take the
stress.
Aidan started getting in
trouble, he always stayed out
of the house running around
with his friends sneaking out
and breaking the law
because they love the thrill of
it. Robert didn’t want to see
him turn up in a ditch, he
gave his parents a talk about
what’s happening with him.
His dad didn’t seem to care
but his mother could see it,
but didn’t know what to do.
Robert came home from
school the next day and had a
game but noticed his brother
didn’t show up, he usually
does to support Robert.
Robert had a great game
throwing about 130+ passing
yards. When they got home
Robert looked for Aidan and
couldn’t find him. He looked in
his room, nowhere. His
parent’s got a call and then he
heard blood curdling screams.
He heard that his brother
Aidan ditched the game and
his other baseball games to
hangout with some nasty
people who liked to drink
alcohol. They got in a car
crash, with Aidan passing.
Robert couldn’t hear this
news, he was sick the whole
week, and didn’t attend
school for a month.
