The curriculum and
daily schedule

After doing a comparative study and assessment of the world’s most prominent
educational systems, Artal preparatory School adopted a special curriculum on the basis
of the preservation of the Saudi identity, Islamic values, and teaching the Holy Quran. This
curriculum is based primarily on the British educational system (EYFS). It also includes
the most important features of other global approaches and methods of learning, such as
Reggio Emilia Approach, which is based on teaching arts using the visual and symbolic
language in order to provide the child with ways to discover and adapt to the world and
give him\her a variety of keys for learning and creativity.
To ensure an educational balance between Arabic and English, “Let’s Read” Arabic
approach was adopted to teach the basics of Arabic language and the art of reading and
writing. The school focuses on teaching Arabic language besides English, as one of the
most important elements of our identity.
Artal curriculum includes special programs designed by female Saudi educational
counsellors in early childhood to emphasize the Arab and Islamic values and culture and
to develop the national sense. These programs also focused on exposing the child to other
international cultures.

This feature is part of the school’s keenness to focus on children and give
them the right to care and attention. It allows the teacher to plan and follow-
up each child according to his\her needs. Studies also proved the emotional
and psychological needs of children for direct attention and stressed the
importance of reducing the proportion of teachers to the number of children.
The commitment to this measure ensures that children are always kept under
surveillance and safety. In addition, preserving this ratio ensures the quality
of care provided to children and enables teachers to manage their classes
