OUR PROCESS Melita’s creamed honey is just that, 100% pure natural honey - no extras, no exceptions. The process of creaming honey was originally developed in New Zealand and produces a beautifully smooth textured honey that will not granulate or crystallize back into large crystals. At Melita we have our own secret techniques developed over many years to create a soft, smooth honey that is both nutritious and delicious. Creaming Processes Large commercial honey companies often use filtration as a method to remove the natural pollen and microscopic particles from honey as these contribute to crystallization. However in doing so, the goodness that is inherent in the product is removed. This often leaves a clear and runny honey with no nutritional benefit. At Melita we take a stand for maintaining the natural quality of our product and only filter our honey minimally. This removes any large clumps of wax or visible impurities amongst the honey but retains all of the pollen and natural goodness. Filtering In our quest to develop our companies authenticity as well as ensure the highest quality product available, Melita has implemented a tracking system that allows every single jar of honey to be traced directly back to its original source, vintage and region. Our traceability ensures optimum management of items such as our apiaries, bees and Manuka UMF levels. This continues our growth and development as a company and allows us to provide you with an exceptionally high quality honey. Traceability When harvesting honey directly from the hive, nature has given us an incredible gift. It is of the utmost importance that our honey stays untouched, and full of natural goodness. Sadly a large majority of honey sold around the world is over processed, destroying not only the complex flavour of honey but its nutritional value also.
