BATHROOM IP RATING GUIDE
Porta Romana Bathroom wall lights are all rated at IP44 Zone 2
An IP rating indicates a fittings resistance to solid objects and water. The first
number relates to solid objects and the second to water/moisture. The higher
the numbers the more resistant the fitting is.
The diagram shown will help identify the appropriate zone in which the fitting is
to be located. Once the zone is established, refer to the list below to confirm IP
rating required.
ZONE 1 - IP65 (JETPROOF) Inside a shower or bath area where there is a
shower head or detachable shower handset.
ZONE 2 - IP44 (SPLASHPROOF) If there is no danger of a direct jetspray being
accidentally applied to the fitting.
ZONE 3 - IP RATED NOT REQUIRED Where there is no possibility that the fitting
will be splashed with water, or steam will settle.
Please consult a qualified electrician who is familiar with the current IEE
Regulations (17th edition). It is the electrician's responsibility to be satisfied that
he is complying with the regulations and Porta Romana will accept no liability if
wall lights are wrongly positioned.
