I was riding my bike down to the corner
shop on a Saturday morning and I was
distracted by a cute boy who was
walking his dog. Suddenly my neighbour
drove past and honked at me and
I was so startled that I crashed into an
old lady who was walking down the
street! Luckily the old lady wasn’t hurt,
but I fell off my bike and landed in the
gutter. My neighbour saw me fall so she
stopped her car and rushed out to help
me. The worst part was that the cute
boy stopped to watch it all happen. So
embarrassing - and dangerous!

always loved music. “Growing up in a musical
household and always being surrounded by
it, I was always kind of a performer child,” she
explains. “My parents would have guests over

make sure that we were ready to put a show

uploading covers of songs to YouTube and
before long she gained a large social media
following. Fast forward to 2015 and Dua
released her first single called, New Love and
it’s been nothing but tours, award shows and
collaborations with other music artists since
then. “I feel very grateful for all the success
and response I’ve had,” she says.
