Heard of the mommy WhatsApp groups?
That’s the place all your fears (imagined, unimagined) come true. Meant to connect moms
from the same school/neighbourhood/special interest class, these groups bring alive conversations
which were hitherto conceived incredible. When the kids are in their infancy, we discuss their
feeding, burping, and pooping schedule. Once, an enthusiastic mommy put up pictures of her little
one’s many-hued used diapers before she mercifully deleted it stating the slideshow was meant for
her paediatrician. I have been exposed to many horrors, but
O that vision still haunts me.
That said, mommy support groups are in reality
a great space to bond, learn from, and know that you are not
the only one in misery. The last one was said in jest.
, O , In order to tip our hat to the millennial mothers who
O H O are walking the fine line, and balancing it all like the
E NO H ON funambulists we all become, we have worked on an
extensive survey to know what they think. And while the
O N I mind of the millennial mom is like a veritable wonder
where a gazillion to-do lists exist, our incisive questionnaire
delves into how she does it all. The big story throws up some interesting findings.

Motherhood is the phase that brings joy, pressure, tension, and elation, all at
the same time. What does it take for a millennial mother today to strike the right
balance among the different aspects of her life—work, baby, spouse, family, and
self? To understand what goes on in the mind of the millennial working mother,
Femina (in association with LeadCap Ventures) conducted a survey, which
throws up a few interesting insights, reports Shraddha Kamdar.
The sample size was a total of 1,548 working mothers between the ages of 18
