Assalamualaikum w.b.t and a very pleasant and safe day I wish to all.

The Messenger of Allah S.W.T said: “Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to
Paradise easy for him.” I begin by saying this to highlight the importance of knowledge and seeking it. The importance of
knowledge transcends any religion. Teachers, on the other hand, impart knowledge and it is his/her duty to do so using
means that are suitable to achieve the end. Hence, the birth of the E-Bulletin. The objective is none other than to educate
students through a fun and yet informative way.
I have to mention here that we are currently living in a very challenging world with the emergence of Covid-19. We have to accept
that it will stay here with us for a long time, thus the need to adapt and adopt the new norms. Education is no exception. The 21st century
educational tools have become an integral part for teaching and learning. We have to embrace the changes and challenges. Learning now
can take place even more so outside the class and thus, this initiative, the E-Bulletin, spearheaded by the English panel is another way of
saying we accept and take the bulls by the horns. Learning is made possible via technology.
It is with immense pleasure that I would like to congratulate and thank all especially the Head of the Language Panel, the Head of
the English Department and to all the English teachers of SMK Tunku Sulong particularly for their never-ending effort, sustained help and
support that have helped us to reach and be where we are right now. The first edition of SMK Tunku Sulong’s E-bulletin has finally made
it! The school will continue to give its best at achieving excellence especially for the students. There are a slice of everything in here that
will appeal to students and hopefully able to reach a wider audience like the teachers as well. It provides a variety of information which
are of interest to the readers. Congratulations once again.

Tn.Haji Husni Zaim Bin Ahmad

Principal of SMK Tunku Sulong

Hello and Happy Independence Day to all!
The Respected,

Tuan Haji Husni Zaim bin Ahmad, Principal of SMK Tunku Sulong. Mr Mohd Radzri bin Ismail, Senior Assistant of Administration,
Madam Siti Aishah bt Shafie ,Senior Assistant of Student Matters, Madam Azizah bt Md Aris , Senior Assistant of Co-curriculum, Madam
Azwanatulimra bt Abd Rahim, Senior Assistant of Form 6,Head of Departments, counselors, teachers and beloved students.
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to God because with His grace, we are able to meet again and witness the Launching Ceremony of
the Language Department’s E-Bulletin . Thanks a million to Tuan Haji Husni Zaim b Ahmad, the Principal of SMK Tunku Sulong, who has given his
unwavering support and faith in me to lead the language department as well as to launch the E-Bulletin, the very first attempt of the Language
Department.
I would also like to express my special appreciation and thanks to Pn. Nor Hashimah Bt Hashim, the Malay language Panel Head and Pn. Fadzillah
Bt Md Salleh, the English Language Panel Head, who have helped me a lot to make this program a success. I’m also eternally grateful to the Malay and
English teachers and students who have worked hard to prepare and publish this E-Bulletin. Your contributions are all greatly appreciated.
This E-Bulletin was produced in conjunction with the Merdeka month and also in response to the school-level HIP program and it was also
produced in line with the current virtual trend which has become a new norm among students and educators today. E-Bulletin will be published
continuously in the future with the hope that students will contribute informative materials in Malay and English to be shared together. This E-Bulletin
was a success in unearthing writing talents among many teachers and students. In addition, the production of this E-Bulletin also successfully showcased
the potential of students where students played an important role in the production, publication and contribution of materials. Teachers only played the
roles of facilitators and contributors of materials or work. The collaborative results of these teachers and students ultimately produced a commendable
output even though we faced various challenges in this time of pandemic. Thousands of thanks to everyone involved.
Finally, once again, I would like to thank the school management, the panel heads and all the language teachers who have worked together to
make all the programs planned by the Language department a success.
We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. Congratulations to all!

E- Assalamualaikum wbt and a very good day to all.
As a teacher, an important aim is to ensure our students get first hand information and fun learning experience

during their schooling years. As an initiative to that, this e-bulletin emerges as a tool for them to search for information
and as useful resources for their research. Contributions from English teachers mean a lot for the readers to have a glance
of hidden talents the teachers have, of course! There are articles, short stories, riddles, quotes, etc. Not only that, it also
contains students’ corner, contributions from students in the form of reviews, essays and poetry writings, etc. It shows
that our students do have potential which needs to be brought up in order to build up their confidence in learning English.
It is a foreign language not a mother tongue or a second language, but as the saying goes, “when there is a will, there is a
way”, there is a way to it! Put aside the alienated sounds or spelling, just go with the flow and enjoy the journey. Dare to
learn something new is one ingredient in a recipe of being successful in life.
This pioneer project aka the first edition of e-bulletin, has been a great and huge success. Therefore, I would like to express my
huge gratitude and zillion thanks to all SMKTS’ English Teachers 2021 for the commitment, cooperation, contributions and hard work to
make this dream a reality! All of you are awesome and dedicated teachers. Embarking the journey to the open world with no boundaries.
Learning is an everlasting process. So, enjoy! Together we stand, bloom and boom!

MOUNTAIN

A son and his father were walking on the
mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself
and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating,
somewhere in the mountain:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire
you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer: "Coward!"
He looks to his father and asks: "What's going
on?"
The father smiles and says: "My son, pay
attention!”
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: "People call this ECHO,
but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do. Our
life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you
want more love in the world, create more love in
your heart. If you want more competence in your
team, improve your competence. If you want to
be successful, improve yourself and create more
success.

This relationship applies to everything, in all
aspects of life; Life will give you back everything
you have given to it.

"YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
IT'S A REFLECTION OF YOU!"

Friendship is an important part of our life. We play with our friends, we share with them. They make us happy. Friendship

is great fun. But not all friends are good friends. Good friends are those who help you in times of need. They will never leave you alone
when you need help, as the saying goes ‘a friend in need is a friend indeed’. The one person in the world that will give me an equal
love and devotion like my parents is my best friend. My best friend is Cherry. Both of us study in the same school and she always helps
me in my studies. We also live in the same locality. Cherry and I spend most of the time together doing the things we like to do. We
enjoy our life according to our needs and wishes. She always steals the attention of everyone when we walk together which makes me
invisible. We have very imaginative minds. Sometimes we just sit together and plan our future and it is just amazing how she jokes
about everything. My best friend is a person on whom I can truly count on all through my life. Whenever I need help or support, she is
always there for me. We have lived moments together and have created memories that will remain throughout my life. Having a best
friend like Cherry makes my life easier. In any crucial situation, the first person that comes to my mind is my best friend, Cherry.
Whenever I'm in any problem, she always helps me to get out of the problem by providing the best solution. She also teaches me to
do some homework that I can't make heads or tails of it. Cherry gets angry when I do something wrong and appreciates me when I
have achieved something. I can only say thank you for being such a precious gift in my life so far and making my life better in many
aspects. She is only one of my friends who knows how to put a smile on my face. She has been my support system and my strength.
That is why friendship is important for.

How My Parents Influenced my life

FATIMAHNASH WA,4SCIENCE

Fatimah Nashwa from SMK Tunku Sulong. This a true story. It was a hot, tiring afternoon. My head was throbbing and my stomach was grumbling
loudly. I couldn’t wait to go home. I was in a bad, bad mood. As soon as the bell rang, I hurriedly walked to the school gate which seemed especially
far that day. As soon as I arrived at the usual spot where my father parked his car, I saw him waiting. I couldn’t describe his expression at that
time. I felt the cold aura around him. There was a scowl on his face and he looked like he was in a bad mood too. 5 minutes later, we arrived at our
house in total silence. It was a bad day for me and I wanted to take a cold shower, have lunch and do my homework afterwards. But then suddenly
with a thunderous voice, my father yelled at me “Nashwa, look at what your cat had done!”.

“Oh God, here we go again”, I said to myself. I hurriedly went to my father and to my horror I saw Simba looking innocently at me. There was a
puddle of urine on the carpet.I started to argue with him and raised my voice a little. I said that I just came home and it was not my fault to begin
with. I was thinking why would he get mad at me when I just got home? How unfair. How typical of him to blame everything on me. While all the
bad thoughts were running through my mind, I was startled by a loud bang. My father had slammed the door. I’ve never seen him so angry. At the
moment, how I wish he was not my father.

I ran to my room and locked myself. I cried my eyes out and fell into a tired hungry sleep. I woke up with a startle when my mother knocked on the
door. She came in and looked at me gently. I guess she had heard about the drama. She was holding a picture of me with my father when I was a
child. We were holding hands and he was looking at me with laughter in his eyes.
All of a sudden, I thought about who my father was before. He was such a sweet and loving person. He was the patient, the quiet one, who never
raised his voice at anybody. In fact he was the one who held me when I was afraid and wiped my tears when I was sad. Sweet memories sailed into
my mind one by one. I realized that my father became like that after his stroke. I should be grateful that he survived. I could still remember that
night, the silent drive to the hospital following the ambulance from behind and I could still remember the fear that he might not survive.

You know, after that day I am a changed person. I have vowed to myself that I would love my father no matter what. After taking care of us and
being patient with us for so long, now it’s my turn to look after him and be patient with him. Because I have to live with my stroke survivor father,
I have to adapt to all the changes that take place. I have learnt to be patient and to accept the reality. Thankfully many years have passed now. He
is getting better, almost like his old self. And I am getting better too. I have grown up.

FAILURE AND SUCCESS

Drown by the ocean of failure,
Fell by the wasted effort,
A step that is afraid to be taken,
The future that is still fuzzy,
Just because of unattainable success.

That is the reality of every human being,
A future imagined since childhood,
Lost only because of failure,
Which will destroy the belief to succeed,
and Change someone’s happily ever after.

Disappointed with failure,
Will only destroy the belief that you can do it,
But if lessons are taken from it,
It will be a bridge to success.

The stars will not shine,
If the night is not dark,
The rainbow will not appear,
If the rain does not hit the earth,

So when we fail it is not the end of happily ever after,
It will help you to rise again,
Because success will not be achieved,
If failure does not occur.

WHERE STUDENTS SHINE

My Home-Based Learning Experience First Prize Winner

BY NG CHENG YEE (5 SCIENCE)

I've been undergoing a unique experience, and some people will never have
opportunities to experience this even once. However, I am the chosen one to be 'blessed' by

fortune, so it is too misty for me to know that what I'm facing now is a blessing or a mischance? LANGUAGE MONTH

When I was ready to take up the challenge of having my Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM)

examination which was supposed to be held at the end of 2021, the world has changed out of all ESSAY WRITING

recognition. The plague namely COVID-19 has emerged and many people out there are suffered

from it. Unfortunately, the majority are separated from their lovely family and the pandemic has COMPETITION

even deprived many people of their lives. When everybody is worried about the pandemic, I still
have to bear the burden as I need to sit for the SPM examination which is regarded as an important milestone in our life. Therefore, the
Ministry Of Education instructed all schools to change the traditional way of teaching with the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR)
concept which doesn't require teachers and students to leave their own home.

Initially, I put one hundred percent of my focus on teachers when they were teaching through the cell phone. I never
procrastinated on homework given by teachers at all and always followed the online PdPR classes with full of passion. Moreover, the
implementation of PdPR is very convenient to me as I don't need to wear the school's uniform, face mask, and even no movement is needed.
Nevertheless, everything has its pros and cons. For me, the biggest challenge in PdPR isn't wasting a big amount of data or not be able to
interact with teachers physically, it is an environment where no one is supervising me and I have a lot of time on my hands to do anything.
Obviously, this is the exact time when the 'devil' will abet me to waste my time arbitrarily as the saying goes, "an idle brain is the devil's
workshop". Consequently, I became self-indulgent. I started to feel like online PdPR classes weren't so important and I didn't have to wake
up early in the morning as the attendance could just be filled up even when I was laying on the bed! Also, homework didn't need to be done
because it will not be checked by teachers. As time went by, online PdPR classes gradually became dispensable for me, and they're just
another appellation for holiday!

Until one day, I slowly discovered people around me were extremely struggling themselves on the quiet but only me was still
stuck in a rut. At that time, I had completely aroused from my reverie - a real disentranced. Suddenly, I could precisely feel great anxiety

E-about the forthcoming examination because I knew that the time I had was terribly limited as time and tide wait for no man. To be honest,
if I wanted to catch up on all of the syllabuses of Form 4 and Form 5 in such a short period was seemingly impossible, so I was badly
disappointed in myself. I asked myself what I had really done in such a long time? Scrolling social media when following the online PdPR
classes and then consoled myself that it was enough for me to understand just by hearing the voice. Did the homework for 5 minutes and
then continued playing games and watching dramas under a cloak of rewarding myself for being such 'exertion'. Weren't these farcical?

From that moment on, I join every single online PdPR class based on the school's timetable and put my shoulder to the wheel
when teachers are teaching. Furthermore, I practise planning my daily life by creating a schedule every day to make sure I'm not wasting
my time as I need to complete all the homework. At the same time, I do register for many seminars, classes and webinars to catch up Form
5 syllabus as I lag behind my classmates. Moreover, I also invited few friends to form a study group for the purpose of revising the Form 4
syllabus. Actually, until now, I always tell myself no matter how hard it is, just keeps going. Once I stop, I will definitely repeat the same
mistakes, and I could be trapped in a vicious circle. Through it all, I know I need to struggle and put hedonism aside as now I'm going to
prepare for the examination which could literally impact my future. Even though the online PdPR classes have a lot of challenges that need
to be surmounted, but I do believe it is feasible because now I know what should be prioritized. Hence, I will continue with my efforts to
achieve success in the SPM examination because there must be labor before the reward, and I must sow in tears before I reap with joy.

Perhaps this is a disaster; perhaps this is a major turning point in my life as I always believe every cloud has a silver lining.
Now that the 'Form 5 Pro Max' as the first batch which has started the PdPR learning method was managed to obtain the best SPM results
in the most recent five years, so why can't we surpass that? In this circumstance, I realized that I can't let myself continue the 'decadent'
life. This is what I can't really feel if I could go to the school as usual because everybody will be under the delusion that they're struggling
but actually not. When everybody lives in peace and leisure, we will more likely to stay in our own comfort zones without any changes; I
could say at best people love peace, and at worst people resist change. Nonetheless, the emergence of a new pandemic has totally upset
the status quo and force people to come out from their comfort zones. People will step out from their comfort zones and make changes as
well as make great progress only when their comfort zones are ruined. When a ball falls and reaches the bottom, that is the perfect time
for it to rebound. Likewise, due to the impact of the implementation of home-based learning, I was self-indulgent, but that is exactly a
golden opportunity for me to rise from the ashes. Rather than assuming ourselves are besieged by misfortune, why don't we regard this
experience as a stepping stone for us to change our life? Therefore, now I already have the answer to my initial question — it's a blessing.

(khadijah safiah 5 science)

If you give me chance, If I may, alone,
I’d be more than grateful to I’ll embrace you in my Even when I dance alone,
love you, fondness, like always By the time this mist clears,
If I may, We were meant to be together, If I may,
Where the skies are blue I wanted to be the warm waves, I’ll run towards you,
To see you once again, my love, But why didn’t I know you were As much as my heart flutters, I
If I may, the ocean? feel anxious,
Overseas, from coast to coast, If I may, I guess the destiny is jealous of
To find a place I love the most, Tell me the eternity, us,
If I may, Just one more time (12) Just like you I’m also worried,
Where the fields are green, The universe has moved forr
To see you once again. (11) This echo that spreads, us,
Passing that cloudy times, Without missing a single thing,
I didn't know what love was The sound of my heart is Because you finally love me,
The buds you and I planted heading to you, and I also love you (12)

If I may, I’d like to say, This night is filled with the The moon looks lonely,
I wish that you were mine, echoes that coming back, Like it’s crying in the bright
And will always be, I’m crying out your name, night sky,
If I may, If I may, Even though I know the
I’ll turn back to our old days, Oh If I may, morning will come,
The days we had, I screamed and called you, If I may,
The song we sang together, come love me now, I want to stay in your blue
If I may, The rain is pouring and it takes yonder,
I’ll shower you with warmth till me back to that time, Just like a star,

My love for you is like the reaches you so you can hear it, looked at me,

As if I realize how much I adore and love me once again. (13) I want to walk this path with
