Also the canteen bought in a whopping $1,200.00!! Thanks to all those who helped
and sweated it out in the kitchen!!
The club is trying to get enough numbers together to run a Level 1 Coaching
Course here at the club. Please express your interest to Jenny or Tim – it is a great
opportunity!! We need at least 6 to run the course, but the more the merrier. It is not
difficult and can help benefit you as a rower.
Learn to row is held every Saturday morning at 6.30am and everyone is welcome to
come and help get new people started. A friendly face to a new person can go a long
way.
The Head of the Tweed 2009 organisation is well under way. If John MacDonald
has not coerced or harassed you into a job and you feel overlooked …please let him
know – there are plenty of jobs to be done. It is a fun day and a great fundraiser for
the club!
Receipts are now available for those wishing or needing them for their fees and
insurance. They will be at the club by the front door in a small folder. Please help
yourself – they are in (I hope) alphabetical order!
And finally I wish to say a fond farewell to everyone in the club. It is time for me to
turn a page and start a new chapter, so I am off back home to New Zealand - boat
and all!! I have really enjoyed my association with the club, I feel I have learned a
new skill, been involved with teaching others and hello at times… even been found in
the kitchen!! It is a great club by the most magnificent river and so much to offer at all
levels. I will take away many happy memories and hope that if any one of you are
visiting “Down Under” anywhere near Tauranga, that you will email me and maybe
we can organise a row!! [email protected]
All the best to you all and Happy Rowing,
Jenny Culley
