THE FORREST ROOM At Balbirnie we continually re-invest into our stunning Georgian Mansion. Recently our Company Director Gaynor and her friend Lesley Osborne did a stunning refurbishment of one of our deluxe rooms. This room was designed especially for the parents of our happy couples who get married here at Balbirnie. It is the first time that we have used a mural in one of our rooms and as you can see, it is tranquil, relaxing, luxurious and simply gorgeous!
Top wedding Tips with David Murray David has been a valued employee at Balbirnie for nearly 10 years. He is passionate about hospitality and loves weddings. Especially ensuring that our happy couple's day runs smoothly. As a Master of Ceremonies have you got a few top tips for the morning of the wedding? In the morning make sure you eat breakfast. Try and use recommended suppliers. They are recommended for a reason as they ensure excellent quality and will not let you down. Run through your ceremony with your wedding party before the day, with such details of if they have to stand or sit throughout the ceremony. A rehearsal is always a good idea the evening before. Aim for the wedding party to be fully dressed for the ceremony at least half an hour before it. This is to allow for photos and especially "first look" photos. Most of all enjoy your day, we will look after as you with our Wedding Planners, to ensure you have the most wonderful day.

Jade & Danny How did your love story begin? I met Danny in a nightclub when I was 16 we had text on and off for years. Our love story really began in 2013 we started dating and I knew he was my one. I’d never felt love like it and knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. We got engaged in Edinburgh 2019 and began to plan our big day. Why did you choose Balbirnie as your wedding venue? We attended a wedding Fair at Balbirnie & I fell in love with it. We took a picture on the swing together and I knew I didn’t need to find anywhere else, nowhere would compare! What struck me the most was how comfortable we felt, even in such a grand environment, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I loved that we could use different parts of the house for each part of the day and the bedrooms are just fabulous. Especially when I was getting ready in the Pearl Suite, listening to our piper play as everyone arrived, it was so special.
What is the best advice you would give to future couples planning their day? Enjoy every moment as it goes so fast and don’t sweat the small stuff it all comes together on the day. Try and keep sight of what’s important you’re marrying the person you love all the rest is just accessories. You’re in the safest hands at Balbirnie as the staff are phenomenal they went above and beyond for us to give us the day of our dreams. Can you tell us about all the special touches and ideas that you had for your day? I spent hours searching for all the little details mainly on Etsy to support small businesses. All the hand made items made it feel really personal. Our name cards, cake boxes, and personalised items for the bridal party I ordered months in advance, as I didn’t want anything to be missed at the end when things get really busy !
