PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Rtr. Lathushanan Koneshwara I'd like to share two quotes that I find particularly relevant to the work that we do in Rotaract. As the great Mahatma Gandhi once remarked, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." is the first quote. The transformational power of service and how it may assist us in finding our real purpose and meaning in The second quote comes from Pablo Picasso, who stated that "the purpose of art is to wash the dust of daily life off our souls." This proverb highlights the strength of creativity and how it can improve and enhance our lives—even during difficult times. We appreciate the effort put forth by our editorial team in creating this fantastic issue of the Blogger Magazine. I sincerely hope that reading it will bring you as much pleasure as writing it did. Let us be mindful of the effect that our work and creativity may have on the world around us as we continue to pursue our slogan for this year, "Strive to Empower Life." Let us continue to serve with zeal and dedication, and let us never lose sight of the ability of our group efforts to positively impact the lives of people in need. life are both highlighted in the above quote. In Rotaract, we always put the needs of others ahead of our own in order to serve with passion and devotion.

Rewrite their story Phase 01 The 'Rewrite Their Story' project was a creative initiative organized by the community service Avenue of Rotaract Club of SLIIT, as part of the larger Phase 1 project aimed at promoting the mental health and well-being of children in schools. Ensuring the mental health and well-being of children in schools is critical for their overall development and academic success. So, when talking about this project it is about the mental health and well-being of children in schools is a critical issue that requires more attention and action. While schools are places where children learn and grow, they can also be a source of stress and anxiety for many students. It is essential that we take steps to address these challenges and promote positive mental health outcomes for all children in schools. At this stage, the talented Rotaractors, decided to focus on the main topic which was education, along with mental health issues. The guest speaker for this wonderful project was Ms. Dilmi Weerasinghe. The volunteers did a great job, by making this event successful. FEED A STRAY PHASE 02 Let's extend a loving hand to our furry friends. To show compassion to all beings, Is the truest form of humanity, When we care for the voiceless, We bring light to their world's mystery. With love and care, we reach out, To the vulnerable creatures around, Our kindness brings a saturation of affection, And in their eyes, hope and trust are found. A simple act of feeding a stray, Can make a world of difference each day, In the life of an animal in need, Who may otherwise be left to bleed? So let us extend our hands and hearts, To the creatures who need us most, For in doing so, we embody the essence, Of compassion, love, and humanity's utmost.

For many of us, our pets are our best friends and constant companions. But not every animal is lucky enough to have a loving home and a full belly. This is why Rotaract Club of SLIIT has decided to give our love to helpless furry friends. Accordingly, a unique project called Feed a Stray was successfully conducted on April 5, 2023, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm by the Community Services Avenue of Rotaract Club of SLIIT. The project involved a group of 30 volunteers who gathered at Rtr.Marlon's place near the SPAR supermarket to cook a nutritious meal for the stray animals in the community. The volunteers prepared a meal consisting of rice, pumpkin, carrots, fish, and shrimp with great enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. The objective of the project was to offer a helping hand to stray animals and bring light into their world by offering them love and care. Once the food was ready, the volunteers split into three teams and carried the food and necessary supplies on foot to designated areas in Malabe, Kaduwela, and Weliwita Street. These areas are known to have a high population of stray animals. As the volunteers walked along the route, they searched for any stray animals that may need their help. Whenever they spotted one, they set up a feeding station with fresh food and water. It was heartwarming to see the animals run towards them and enjoy their meal with so much enthusiasm. In total, the volunteers fed around 50 stray animals during the project, ensuring that they received the nourishment they deserved. They also made sure to clean up the area just as they had found it.

The Feed a Stray project was not only about feeding the animals but also about bringing a sense of companionship and love into their lives. By the end of the project, the volunteers were exhausted but filled with joy and satisfaction. They had made a positive impact in the community by helping the speechless and vulnerable beings around them. Feed a Stray project was a small but impactful way to help furry friends in the community. The Community Services Avenue of Rotaract Club of SLIIT hopes to inspire others to take up similar projects and make a difference in the world, one act of compassion at a time. Penned By - Rtr. The project introduced the participants to cryptocurrency very smoothly. He walked them through the shallow area of it which is enough to start the crypto journey. Not only that, he moved into greater detail about what cryptocurrency is, its different types, benefits, history, and so on. It was a very interactive session which made it really productive. We were able to successfully complete the program’s basic requirement, which called for introducing participants to cryptocurrency in order to inspire possible business owners. As far as the eye could see, the sand was a never-ending sea of golden grains that shimmered in the sunlight. Pritz had spent every summer since she could remember having fun at the beach, making sandcastles, and digging her toes into the sand. Pritz, however, started to perceive the sand differently as she grew older. She gained knowledge about erosion and how human activity affects the sensitive environment of the beach. She observed how the sand dunes were continually being reshaped by the wind and waves. Pritz had an idea one day when she was sitting on the sand admiring the waves. Sand was being gathered in handfuls, which she then packed tightly into a bucket until it was full. She tipped the bucket gently on its side, building a tall tower out of the sand. Even though it was only a modest construction that would probably be destroyed by the next high tide, Pritz felt a sense of accomplishment for using the same sand that she had played in for years to create anything. Pritz recognized that the sand was similar to life as she sat and observed the tower. Although it could be molded and formed, in the end it was only fleeting, continually altering and changing. We had the ability to make something lovely in the time we had, just like the sand does. Pritz felt grateful for life's modest joys as she rose up and dusted the sand off her hands. She knew as she left the tower that she would always treasure her memories of the sand, the beach, and the lessons they had imparted upon her. THE SAND Penned By - Rtr. SNOOPY.... THE WORLD FAMOUS ASTRONAUT Snoopyyyyy…..! In 1969, Snoopy became “the first beagle on the moon” in a series of Peanuts comic strips. Now he is on the way back to the moon aboard NASA’s Artemis 1 mission. Snoopy is a “Zero-g-indicator”. He dressed in a kind of replica of NASA’s pressure suit for Artemis astronauts, on board the space agency’s lunarorbit-bound Orion spacecraft. Snoopy was the last person to be put in Orion when closed the hatch. The Artemis I Orion flew without a crew- other than Snoopy, 4 LEGO minifigures, Shaun the Sheep, and 3 instrumented manikins. After the 50 years, in 2018, Snoopy was first entered for the US Space program and promoted NASA’s Artemis mission. Over the next 25 days, Snoopy floated aboard Orion as it made a close flyby of the lunar surface and then soars well past the moon, travelling farther away from Earth than any space craft made for astronauts in history.

FINDING A TRUE LOVE Emily felt as though her entire world had been turned upside down when her long-term boyfriend left her for someone else. She believed that the agony would never go away because it was so severe. She kept seeing reminders of him, of their love, and of their future dreams everywhere she turned. She experienced a sense of being submerged in a sea of memories. But Emily fought back. She resisted allowing the suffering to overcome her fully. To divert her attention, she plunged herself into her work. Her friends were a constant source of strength and encouragement, so she spent more time with them. And she began to piece together her broken self gently but surely. It was challenging. There were those days when the hurt was just as acute as the first. Emily, though, resisted giving up. On a murky and a gloomy night. Black shadows pitch the land. Emitting dark and creepy light. With paints of ebony filling the sand. No light to wither the darkness. Just invisible sounds of blackness, Noises of insects shrouding my ears, With chilly touching of fears. Wind is turning the tides of waves. Quickly filling the lagoon caves. A cracking sound went through the sky. Standing under heavy clouds I sigh. Still holding the memories we met. Water & perspiration casted us wet. Held the big net with our hands. With smiling faces in the golden sands. Love is curious tool to us. First sigh, first gossip made us one. It never caused us a great fuss. But, became a weapon when, you went none. Thinking of that, I sitting on the wet pouring beach. Grasping the sand like, a small wet leach. Dreaming of that wailing day. Where you went to fish and never returned with nay. A Terrifying Fate Curse of the Terracotta Warrior It was a warm summer evening in Tokyo when I stumbled upon a small antique shop tucked away in a quiet alley. As I browsed through the dusty shelves, my eyes fell upon a small figurine of a terracotta warrior. It was beautifully crafted, with intricate details and lifelike expressions. The shopkeeper noticed my interest and told me a story about the warrior. According to him, it was a rare artifact that had been discovered in an ancient tomb in China. It was said to be cursed, and whoever possessed it would suffer a terrible fate. I was intrigued by the shopkeeper's tale, and I decided to purchase the figurine. As I left the shop, I felt a strange sense of unease. It was as if the warrior was watching me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had made a terrible mistake. I placed the figurine on my desk that night and went to bed, but I could not sleep. I kept hearing strange whispers and murmurs from the figurine, and I felt like I was being watched. As the days went by, I became increasingly obsessed with the warrior. I spent hours staring at it, trying to decipher its secrets. I felt as if my soul was trapped in an endless loop, and my body was too weak to withstand it. I lost the last inch of my strength and might have passed out for days. When I regained consciousness, I realized that I needed to get rid of the figurine.

So, I grabbed it and went to find the antique shop, but it was nowhere to be found, nor was the alley I walked in that day. I was frustrated and agitated, and I did not see a way to get rid of this utter chaos. I felt helpless, wandered around like a zombie, and ended up back in my apartment. I was trapped in an endless cycle, and I could feel the warrior's dark magic slowly consuming me. But this time, it was different. The warrior had cast a spell, and suddenly, I found myself being pulled into a dark void. I tried to fight it, but it was too strong. The warrior had trapped me in the same dimension that it had been trapped in for centuries. It wanted to use me as its vessel to break free from the curse and live in the physical world. I was terrified. The dimension was dark and suffocating, and I could feel the warrior's presence all around me. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. I knew that I had to find a way out, but I had no idea where to begin. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I was trapped in the dimension, alone with my thoughts and the warrior's whispers. As I was losing my soul, heaven miraculously showed me a scroll containing a powerful incantation that could break the curse and free me from the warrior's grasp. I recited the incantation, and suddenly, the dimension began to unravel. The walls crumbled, and the darkness lifted. I was back in my own world, but I knew that the curse would always follow me. The terracotta warriors were not just relics of the past, but vessels for dark magic that could bring even the bravest to their knees. The terracotta warrior had become a part of me, and I could feel its presence wherever I went. I tried to live a normal life, but the warrior's whispers would always be there, haunting me.
