Greeting Sorors!
Welcome to Florida’s 2019 Florida and The Bahamas Cluster. We are excited to join you for a joyful weekend
filled with workshops, fellowship and worship.
Now more than ever, Deltas must be Empowered to Embrace our role as leaders and advocates as we Engage
with our chapters and communities. The recent election cycle once again affirmed the necessity for strategic and
coordinated, Delta powered, and service throughout our region. We truly embrace Joy in our Sisterhood, Power
in our voice and Service in our hearts.
The host chapters have done an outstanding job in preparing an environment for each individual to explore

ways to experience our theme: “Empower, Embrace, Engage: Connecting the Pathway to Power, Joy, and Ser-

vice.” Our work requires sorors to exercise a level of self-care while continuing the fight against injustice,
inequities and institutional oppression. Our Oath reminds us to live a balanced and healthy life and our agenda
facilitates learning and living.
Take time this weekend to grow your knowledge of Delta’s programs and policies and to grow your knowledge
of what you as a woman of vision and courage need to fuel your leadership and service.
Thank you for your continued support. It is an honor to serve as your regional officer for this biennium. We
look forward to interacting with all of our sorors from the sunshine state of Florida and the paradise islands of
The Bahamas.
Enjoy your time at the Cluster and remember that it’s up to you to find and embrace that 2019 Delta in you!

President’s Greetings

Greetings, Sorors!

Welcome to the Magic City of Miami. The four local host chapters have been enthusiastically preparing for your
arrival and we are eager for you to enjoy a special weekend of learning, bonding and renewing your commitment
to Delta. The Cluster workshops have been selected to amplify our Cluster theme — Empower, Embrace and
Engage: Connecting the Pathway to Power, Joy and Service. In addition to the sessions, there will be opportunities
for strengthening our sisterly bonds and activities designed to help you relax and rejuvenate so that you will leave
Miami energized and ready to be about the business of Delta when you return to your home chapter.
As an organization founded on Christian principles, we would be remiss if we didn’t afford you an opportunity to
get your praise on. We pray that you will be spiritually uplifted as you join us on Sunday for our Ecumenical Praise
& Worship Service followed by our Prayer/Fellowship Breakfast.
Cluster promises to be three power-packed days conducting the business of Delta. But while you’re here, we
invite you to set aside time to bask in the warmth of the Miami sunshine; relax by the pool; stroll along our sandy
beaches; visit local shopping centers for some retail therapy; enjoy the fresh flavors of our local cuisine or immerse
yourself in a variety of cultural offerings. Whatever you choose to do, you won’t be disappointed! And while we
encourage you to enjoy all that Miami has to offer, we also remind you to be careful and safe.

On behalf of the Dade County Alumnae Chapter, welcome to Miami for what promises to be a productive and fun-
filled weekend.
Empowering, Embracing, Engaging: and Connecting the Pathway to Power!
Yours In Delta,

C. Bette Wimbish

Former National Legal Advisor, Charter Member – St. Petersburg Alumnae Chapter
She was a phenomenal woman: a politician, constantly working for social justice; a
lawyer, constantly working to give voice to the voiceless; a mother, protecting her children
from the inhumanity of racism; a wife, supporting her husband, Ralph M. Wimbish, MD;
a grandmother, teaching me to be an independent woman; a DELTA, representing the
Crimson and Cream with dignity and pride; and a woman, leading other women with the
promise of what was to come.
We are honored to be her legacies.
