Dr. Borja honored as PRC PRB ChE Recognition and PRC Service Awardee Former MMAC president and adviser, Dr. Josephine Borja! She was honored with the prestigious Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering Recognition Award and PRC Service Award at the recent New Chemical Engineers Oath Taking on November 30, 2023, held at the Manila Hotel Tent City.
Engr. Pader honored as PRC PRB ChE Recognition and PRC Service Awardee Engr. Elizabeth Ridad-Pader, a valued PIChE MMAC member, has received the prestigious Professional Regulatory Board of Chemical Engineering (PRB ChE) Recognition Award and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Service Award. Let's give her a big round of applause for this incredible achievement! The awards were presented to Engr. Ridad-Pader during the PRC Oath Taking Ceremony held on July 7, 2023, at the UP Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines - Diliman, Quezon City.

PIChE MMAC member part of ASIAN Scientist 2023 Congratulations to our MMAC member and former officer, Dr. Joseph Auresenia, for being part of the 2023 Asian Scientist 100! The list recognizes the region’s award-winning researchers for their achievements across the different scientific disciplines. Auresenia is among 14 Filipinos included in this year’s list. Started in 2016, the Asian Scientist 100 is published by Asian Scientist Magazine, a Singapore-based publication dedicated to providing researchers, educators and students, healthcare professionals, and government agencies, with news about science and technology.

2023 APCChE Education Summit The APCChE Education Summit, part of the 20th APCChE Congress and 84th PIChE National Convention in September 2023, featured various activities and notable speakers. Engr. Chamaigne Luz Dela Gente-Jamandre, PIChE National President, opened the event, and Prof. Fang Xiangchen, Vice President of APCChE, delivered a keynote address on trends in chemical engineering education in the Asia-Pacific regions. The summit included plenary sessions covering topics such as AI in chemical engineering education, competence framework development, and the importance of partnerships for sustainability, culminating in a resolution on educational partnerships and closing remarks by Prof. Alberto A. Laurito.

2023 APCChE Education Summit During the APCChE Education Summit, a significant moment transpired as participants collectively signed a resolution emphasizing the importance of partnerships among educational institutions offering Chemical Engineering. The resolution, a pivotal outcome of the summit, highlighted the commitment to fostering collaboration and synergy within the academic community. This symbolic act aimed to strengthen educational ties, promote knowledge exchange, and advance the field of Chemical Engineering collectively. The majority of those who endorsed the resolution hail from member schools within the MMAC.
2023 APCChE Student Congress The Student Congress, an integral part of the event, featured various activities, including the ChE Mob challenge and the APCChE Quiz Bowl, fostering interaction between students and professionals. The second day of the congress focused on research and innovation, with students presenting their work in the Undergraduate Research Contest and the Chemical Plant Design Competition. The plenary speakers, experts in their fields, provided valuable insights into the future of chemical engineering education. The Education Summit and Student Congress collectively served as a platform for learning, collaboration, and networking, empowering participants to contribute to the advancement of chemical engineering in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
2023 APCChE Student Congress De La Salle University emerged victorious as the 1st place winners in the APCChE Quiz Bowl, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking in a thrilling face-to-face competition. The University of the Philippines – Diliman secured 2nd place, while the 3rd place went to the University of the Philippines – Visayas. Congratulations to the brilliant minds of these teams, and the anticipation builds for another exciting battle next year!

PIChE MMAC Adviser named one of the finalists for an International Competition Congratulations to our PIChE MMAC Adviser, Dr. Maria Natalia RoxasDimaano, on being named one of the finalists for the prestigious 2023 Underwriters Laboratories-ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women! The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI), the U.S. government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and UL Research Institutes have announced the twelve finalists from ASEAN member states for this year's competition. Dr. Maria Natalia Roxas-Dimaano has been recognized in the senior scientist category for her remarkable work in the field of renewable and clean sources of energy. Her contributions have the potential to positively impact the lives of more than 662 million people in Southeast Asia. The Science Prize for Women celebrates and acknowledges the significant role that women scientists play in shaping a sustainable future through their expertise in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) research. It highlights the crucial public-private sector partnership between ASEAN COSTI, USAID, and UL Research Institutes in supporting and promoting scientific knowledge and safety in science education.
PIChE MMAC General Assembly and Leadership and Academic Forum 2023 The General Assembly and Leadership and Academic Forum, centered around the theme "Sustaining Excellence: Best Practices in Teaching Specialization Courses in Chemical Engineering, " took place on October 21, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the SHS Seminar Room, P. Casal Campus, Technological Institute of the Philippines. This event provided a platform for educators and leaders to share insights and best practices in the teaching of specialized courses in Chemical Engineering, fostering a collaborative environment that sustained excellence in education. The venue at the P. Casal Campus, Technological Institute of the Philippines, hosted this significant gathering, contributing to the advancement of academic excellence in the field.
PIChE MMAC General Assembly and Leadership and Academic Forum 2023 The MMAC General Assembly 2023 began with the opening ceremonies, including an invocation, national anthem, and welcoming remarks by Dr. Elizabeth Ridad-Pader. The event featured team-building activities, the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with PIChE-Bulacan Chapter, and the PIChE MMAC Board Election. Inspirational messages were delivered by various leaders, and the President's Report by Engr. Norman Giovanni M. Guevarra highlighted the activities. The assembly concluded with the announcement and induction of the newly elected PIChEMMAC Board for FY 2023-2025 and emcees are Engr. Rose Mardie P. Pacia and Dr. Ramuel John I. Tamargo.
