SLIDESMANIA.COM NOOR SAADIAH BINTI MOHD ALI was born on 11 December 1985 in Pahang, Malaysia. She enrolled her first degree in Petroleum Chemistry at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2005 and completed her degree in 2007. She was the recipient of JPA scholarship during her degree level. In 2014, she managed to complete her M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry & Instrumental Analysis with distinction as her CGPA was 3.83. She furthered her doctorate programme in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and demonstrated outstanding skills and experience in the field of Advanced Materials specializing in Energy Storage Device and Functional Polymer. She is presently working as Matriculation Lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She has in-depth knowledge regarding Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. To date, Noor Saadiah Mohd Ali manage to author 30 peer-reviewed indexed articles, articles in the proceeding and book chapter. SLIDESMANIA.COM PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. “William Arthur Ward” My teaching principle is focusing on student’s demands and what is good for student’s development with balanced aspects that include knowledge, morality, skills, freedom and lifelong learning., which is in-lined with the KhAIR concept practiced in CFS IIUM. My ultimate goal in teaching is to make students satisfied in their learning journey and to inspire them through exemplary teaching across all contexts. Being a teacher in CFS IIUM play great role in shaping the thought of society that fosters Islamization through the qualities of Faith (Iman), Knowledge (Ilm) and good character (akhlak) in holistic way for the progress of education and Muslim world. SLIDESMANIA.COM ➢ Good lesson planning can lead to effective teaching and learning session. A lesson plan does not have to be complicated, and in fact, the simpler it is the better. Prior to lecture I always start with the topic overview and what is the objective or the outcome that we expect from students from a lesson. ➢ Chemistry usually involved complex and abstract concepts making it to be a dry and tough subject matter to grasp. ➢ To attract student attention, I have incorporated various learning style, in-class activities and use of ICT & technologies during teaching & learning session. This include; (1) online, face-to-face, YouTube lecture (2) in-class activities such as gamification approach or pop-quiz make the session more exciting and enriching. ➢ Thus, with an organized lesson plan it helps the teacher to be more prepared, focus on the objective or main goal, choose appropriate materials, save time and improve the teaching. a) Write-up on the planning and implementation- Teaching & Learning

For Chemistry subject, students are assessed based on the following: 1) Quizzes ➢ Helping student to practice existing knowledge and retain the information. 2) Group activities/ Lab work ➢ Practical or hands on session where students performed experiment in laboratory that involve organic and physical reaction. 3) Lab skill test ➢ At the end of the semester, student will be tested on the laboratory technique such as weighing, titration, preparation of standard solution and chemical test (organic reaction). 4) End-of-semester examination ➢ Summative assessment that provide a snapshot of everything that student has learned throughout the semester.
