Holding true to the legacy Our family business, now in its fourth generation, carries on the tradition of baking delicious biscuits using many of the recipes created over a century ago by our great-grandmother, Annie Wild. The original bakery was established circa 1899 in the Lancashire seaside resort of Morecambe. Annie Wild ran the bakery shop and a boarding house, whilst being a full-time mum to three boys. Her eldest son, John, yearned to return to his Yorkshire roots, away from the seasonal summer trade. In 1920 he and Annie opened a shop in the historic village of Haworth, home of the famous Brontë sisters, where they began to build on the heritage of Annie Wild’s unique biscuit recipes. Haworth remained the home of the family bakery until the beginning of the new Millennium, when we moved to our current, purpose-built site in Steeton, West Yorkshire. Though the company has grown in size from its humble beginnings, today’s business holds true to the legacy of its founder, Grandma Wild.
