Fellow Nomads,
It was with such a great sadness we had to say goodbye to a great
friend and golf legend, Neale Kunhardt.
I am so proud to have known Neale in my life and I will cherish all my
fond memories I have of him… from being reprimanded by him for
incorrect introductions at Nomads Prize Givings to assisting me
with golf rules (via phone calls) while playing a round of golf.
I will miss the long chats after our PE Golf Cub committee meetings
to the braais we had where he shared countless stories of all the
Nationals he attended.
Chatting about all the momentos he had in his bar from various golf
events and most off all playing golf with him which I did quite a few
times and really enjoyed.
I guess my best game was
his last with Nomads at
East London Nationals
where we played together
on the final day – a day I
will remember for many
years to come.
Thank you for everything
you did for us, your
countless hours of help in
all spheres
I will really miss you!
Rest In Peace Neale

Vice Captain Update
Hello Fellow Nomads
A big thanks to all the members that attended the
Belmont game and especially all the guests that
joined us, numbers started off a bit slowly but to
have 50 players for a game that is an hour out of PE
was great.
Not having a prize giving was a let down but at least we got to
celebrate the life of Neale Kunhardt and a Hole in One by Roy
Newman…
The scores in my four ball did not show the talents of our golfers,
when you take 17 holes to get the tee box its more than a struggle.
AMT fundraising time soon so please be aware that we will be
hosting a Music Trivia – General Knowledge - Sports Trivia
Evening at the end of July, we will announce the details in the next
couple of day so please check your emails…
Regards
VC Snapper
Congrats

Dear Fellow Nomads
Thank you to all the Nomads that participated in the
monthly game at The Belmont. Although we had a
relatively decent field of 52, it was disappointing in
that we only had 37 EC Nomads playing. It is very clear
that supporting the outlying clubs comes with it's challenges but
that is the spirit of Nomads. In saying that, although the road to
Grahamstown is decent enough, the abilities of some of the folk
using that road is quite scary. A big shout out to our hosts who
went out of their way to make us feel most welcome and truly put
on a professional show.
Thank you to my covey of Bunter, Karl “Woof Woof” Rohroff and
Weitzie. It was a great day out on a very challenging course but we
had good fun. Always a pleasure to lessen the load on Woof Woof
and Weitzies wallets. Woof Woof, as your Dad always told you,
don't leave it short.
Congratulations to Jurgens for winning the Teddy, again. I think
that you should just become a permanent altar bunny.
I am busy planning a special game hopefully to take place at
Kirkwood in September. It will be a week day. I will put out a survey
in the coming days to see what day best suits most Nomads. No
matter the size of the field, we will be going.
There are some niggly issues within Nomads EC that we have
identified as Captains and the Committee. We have given this
some serious debate and will be
implementing strategies to ensure
that the Nomads experience
always remains professional,
efficient and enjoyable.
See you at Humewood.
Cheers.
Yours in Nomads,
Brendon Mc Neill
