Captains News

Good day fellow Nomads.

We had a great day at Walmer Golf Club on Thursday
although we only had 41 Nomads in the field it went
off very well.

Again, congratulations to John Nell who scored a
fantastic 45 points and was the clear A Division and Overall winner!

Greg Clack took B Division winner and Gary Sampson moved away from
the Teddy to winning C Division.

I had the pleasure of inducting 2 new Nomads to the Eastern Cape being
Juan Muller and Karl Rohroff. Gents welcome to Nomads.

In the coming months we have a very busy calendar.

Raceday on 27 July 2018
Seaboard on the weekend of 10-12 August
Wedgewood on 19 August
Belmont on 09 September
Bots Nationals 13-16 September
Boland anniversary on 28-30 September.

I hope that there will be plenty Eastern Cape Nomads representing us in
these events.

The date for the October monthly game will have to move due to the fact
that 6 our of our EC Nomads will be representing us at the Swaziland
Nationals. Myself and the Vice Captain will be in attendance. We will notify
you of the changed date as soon as possible, watch this space

Thanks to Ken for preparing and sending the 2017 financials to the National
Executive.

Thanks again to all those
who made the monthly
game at Walmer Golf Club
such a success and I hope
to see as many of you at our
next monthly game to be
played at Wedgewood.

Vice Captains News

Good day Fellow Nomads

Our first attempt at a 9-hole course went off well with
some decent scores coming in, this also being my first
Silver Salvo with 45 points, thanks to my 4-ball for a
good round. So, no bets next month with our handicapper cutting me by 7
shots to play off a 3 next month.

My AMT year this year will be starting with the Race Day to be held on the
27th July 2018 at Fairview Race Course, could all Nomads try to attend as it
is for charity. My charity for this year is the Lake Farm Centre, which looks
after intellectually and physically challenged adults.

We have sold 14 tables to date and waiting for a couple of response's.
Come on fellow Nomads come and join us on the day and enjoy and
entertain client's on the day.

The individual Nomad that attends will have to pay R400.00 for a seat at the
table.

My thanks to my AMT committee who if anybody wants to contribute or
donate can contact.

JVC News

Good day Fellow Nomads,

The game at the Walmer Golf Estate went down very well,
with a lot of the Nomads recommending that we add this to our year
schedule. Their Operations Manager (Gavin) was very accommodating to
us with our needs and would obviously like to have us back again.
To my four ball, Rob Falkner, Gavin Ward- Able and Ian O`Connor, thanks
for the great day. It was a close game in the end, but well played.
Thanks Hughy for the help of setting up the altar and to our only Altar bunny
from the losing fourball (Shaun Ryan) for packing up the Altar. Hughy,
funny enough went MIA when the packing up was to be done, so I would like
to thank Gavin Ward- Able and David Gooden, as true Nomads, in stepping
up to help a fallen Nomad in need by assisting Shaun with packing up the
Altar, as he looked quite lost and down on his own.
Congratulations to all the lucky winners.
Thanks to Jeanne, Christelle and Paula for your time and hard work that
you both put in for us, as usual on the day.
Yours in golfing to all EC Nomads.
