Captains News

Good day fellow Nomads,

The May game at St Francis Links Golf Club was
played on Sunday the 19th was played in
weather that none of us was used too. It was a
great privilege for me to have played with Pat Phillips in his 500th
game as a Nomad of 47 years.

The course was in pristine condition with the greens being
lightening fast and fairways were in great condition.

Thanks to St Francis Links, Jeff Clause and all the staff for that was
done for Nomads. Thanks to Thinus and George Saffy for joining
me and Uncle Pat in my 4 ball.

Uncle Pat playing his 500th game for Nomads means that in all the
games played and Nationals attended he has played equivalate to
± 700 games, around 47 bottles of whiskey at a double a game and
30 cases of beer.

Congratulation to Jeff Clause for his 25 year tie award, Chris
Lessing for his 20 year tie award, Uncle Pat Phillips 500th game
badge and to Ian O'Conner for his 100thgame badge

Congratulation to the divisional winners and runners up, and all
the winners on the day. Congratulation to a guest for his hole in 1
on the 14th Tim Smuts.

I would like to thank the ladies for assisting with registration and
prize sheet and hope to see them at the table in my year to come.

Lastly, I would like to thank all fellow Nomads for the support they
have shown in me for nominating me as their captain for 2019

JVC News

Good day Fellow Nomads,

Sunday was my first encounter as the new JVC and
what an experience it was. Pat Phillips was
definatly the highlight of the day, 500 games as a
Nomad, what an achievement! The venue for the
game was the amazing St Francis Links and it delivered with the
weather but not some of the scores as Jnr Gooden was eaten alive.
To the winners of the divisions well played the greens were tricky
as always. Hole 14 delivered a Hole in One by our visitor Tim Smuts
and then to cap that achievement off we had Marc Fresco make an
eagle on the very difficult 1st hole.

Rough Rider and Frontier games against Border are coming up on
the 29th June at Fish River and Port Alfred, information will follow
soonest.

The next round is Uitenhage on the 9th June at 08h30 so let's try to
all be there!

Yours in golfing to all EC Nomads.
