Captains News

Good day fellow Nomads,

.I would like to thank Humewood GC for hosting
us on Sunday 27th Jan 2019. It was our first
game for the year leaving me only 3 games left
in my Captains year

I personally think those of you who did not play on Sunday missed
out on a great day!

That brings me to the next point:

We only had 52 Nomads playing on Sunday, I remember when I
became a Nomad I was informed that the Nomadic thing to do is
play all your monthly games (exceptions will always happen) but
irrelevant if you like to play the course or not. We now find
ourselves in the situation where we don't play on 9 hole courses,
we don't like to play Uitenhage to warm, we don't play at
Wedgewood as its too far to drive, we don't play early morning
games and we don't play at St Francis Links as its too long…

I would just like to remind our fellow Nomads (as people like to tell
me) “it is a good Nomad that play his 12 games every year.

I would like to welcome Marc Fresco to Nomads. He was inducted
on Sunday and played his first official game as a Nomad. I still
think that the Whisky draw was rigged as Marc “sommer” won 2
bottles on the day.

I would like to congratulate Stuart McIver on receiving his 15 year
tie and Stuart Reid on receiving his 5 year tie.

Again congratulations to Dave Koen for receiving his Silver Salva
for the 43 points at our Gold Cup game in December 2018.

I moved the February game at Walmer Country Game to Walmer
Golf Course, the game will be played on 10 February 2019. The
reason for the move is purely one for safety. I know that the Walmer
CC members are not happy about it even so that one off Our WCC
members felt he had the right to approached me in a public place
and give me verbal abuse…

Gents that is not on. I will discuss this at our meeting to see how to

carry forward with this matter.
Nationals is around the corner. We are still 18
people going to Randpark to partake in the
Firethorn Nationals 2019. We got a good team on paper and we do
have the players to bring back the big trophy.
We also have our first Golforama event in George over the period
13th to 18th March 2019. Thanks to the people availing themselves
to go with.
Gentleman I hope to see more people at our next game in February

Vice Captains News

Good day Fellow Nomads

The next event on my AMT Calendar will be the Golf day
to be held at the Hill on the 22nd Feb 2019.

This is one of our main fundraising events for this year, and funds
accumulated will be used to assist Lake Farm in a number of projects which
will benefit the special needs adults

Please book your Four-Ball early to avoid disappointment. Ladies are
welcome to participate. An entry form has been included for return either
by e-mail or fax to our Match Secretary, Jeanne Newman
([email protected] or 041 367-1295) by no later
than 15th February 2019.

For those who don't play golf, it would be great if you could support our day
through the many sponsorship, donation and/or prize opportunities
available.

We look forward to your positive response so that we may help those less
fortunate than ourselves.

Please feel free to contact me or any of our AMT Committee listed below
should you have any queries.
