Add: Tickets may be sold to anyone present at the Monthly Game. Should there be a carry-over, an
Eastern Cape Nomad may only win this. Should a visiting Nomad or a Visitor win the Pick 3
or share it, they would only qualify for the pot or a share of the pot sold on the day. Should
there be an Eastern Cape Nomad and a visitor win the pick 3 and there is a carry-over, the
Eastern Cape Nomad would get a share of the pot sold on the day as well as the carry-over
amount and the visitor would only qualify for a share of the days pot.

1. That, in line with Natex’s agreement to pay travelling and accommodation expenses for the

Annual subscriptions will be invoiced and delivered by early January of each year, payable by the end
of January. The invoice shall consist of the following format:

AMT Draw Tickets, R10 per monthly game R 120.00 (Y)
Lucky Draw Tickets – drawn at the National Tournament R 200.00 (Z)
Total of Invoice – no amount to be marked as “Optional” R 1,200.00

1. Should a Nomad be inducted in the first six months of the year, ie. Prior to 1 July,

1.1. Full payment of R 1,000.00 (X + Y) is to be paid and the 12 AMT draw tickets will be
allocated over the remaining months of the year, ensuring that the member is not
compromised;

1.2. If the Lucky Draw Tickets have already been issued and the Draw has taken place at the
National Tournament, the R200 (Z) will not be charged

2. Should a Nomad be inducted in the second six months of the year, ie. After 30 June,

2.1. Payment of subs will be reduced by 50%, R440 + R60, (X + Y) and the AMT Draw tickets
will be allocated over the remaining months of the year, ensuring that the member is not
compromised;

2.2. If the Lucky Draw Tickets have already been issued and the Draw has taken place at the
National Tournament, the R200 (Z) will not be charged

3. Under no circumstances will Joining Fee’s be reduced!

“This is a subsidiary competition within the normal monthly meeting and at a National
Tournament. If only 3 players have scores to count the Club Executive may, at its discretion,
elect either a ghost player and award the average of the field to that four-ball or utilise some
other method which has been decided prior to the commencement of the competition”

Resolved:

1. that our club would allow certain members who; were over 65 years of age, have difficulty of
clearing water and rough off normal tees, and are handicapped at their domestic club off Forward
Markers, permission to use Forward Markers at Nomads Monthly games only.

2. That such member must apply to Nomads in writing with proof from his domestic club that he is
a "Forward Marker" player and is handicapped accordingly. Once approval has been granted, the
members Nomad handicap will be adjusted downwards by two shots. At this time, Forward
Markers may not be used at GPKO games played outside of Monthly games.

does have Gold Cup qualifying complications

Monthly Prize Winners (Qualifiers)

Resolved:

Qualification for Prizes at a Monthly Game:

Qualification for prizes at a Monthly game for the following prizes will have relevance: Divisional
Winners Trophy, Over 55’s Prize and the prize for Most Golf – Teddy Prize.

These prizes can only be won by a Local Nomad, Visiting Nomad or a Nomad who was due to be
inducted at that Monthly Game. Should a visitor or Guest win these prizes, they will qualify for the
First Prize but not the Trophy with regard to Divisional Winners and the next best/or worst scoring
Nomad shall receive the prize for the Over 55’s and the Worst Player.

Altar Bunnies

Resolved:
Altar Bunnies – those players identified to pack away the Altar

The Altar Bunnies will assist the Equipment Officer and the JVC, immediately after the closure of the
prizegiving, with the dismantling and packing away of the Altar and other equipment as identified to
them. The Altar Bunnies shall consist of the following prize winners:

• Worst Playing Fourball;
• Worst Playing Pair;
• Teddy Bear Winner.

Should any of the above players not be in attendance at prizegiving, they shall assist at
their next Monthly Game that they are present.

9. MEMBERSHIP

Resolved:

1. That application forms for new membership together with the entrance fee and subscriptions
would be submitted to the Executive meetings.

2. That the proposer and applicant be asked to play with a committee member the following meeting
and thereafter the applicants name together with the proposers name would be published in the
Newsletter.

3. That the acceptance or otherwise of the applicant’s application would also be published in the
Newsletter.

Monthly Game Credit
Resolved:

1. That credit for games would only be given to members where illness was involved and not for
business reasons.

Monthly Meeting Dated 29th May 1989

Resolved:

1. That in future, before granting membership, a prospective new member would have to attend a
meeting with the Captain and/or Vice-Captain and the Membership officer would ensure that the
prospect was suitable and fully aware of the commitment he was making

2. That any Nomad who re-joins after previously having resigned must pay full membership as if
he were joining for the first time.

3. That any Nomad who made himself available to play and was listed as a reserve, would be
granted full credit for the game.

4. That members who missed a game through business travel would be given a credit for one game
per year, provided they request it in writing.

5. That a "no show" at a game must pay his competition fee for that game to the Club.

15. KOWIE NOMADS TRUST

Monthly Meeting Dated 16th July 1984

Resolved:
1. That the interest from the Kowie Trust will be allocated to the 1984 Andrew Mentis Tournament.

1. That R10,000.00 from the Kowie Nomads Trust would be reinvested in an Capital Bond with

Liberty Life.

16. GENERAL

Monthly Meeting Dated 29th May 1995

Resolved:
1. Recommended that we standardise colour of our stockings as either white or aubergine. Vote

held and decided to allow either colour.

Monthly Meeting Dated 11th March 1996

Resolved:
1. Peter proposed that a member suspended for a "no show" be entitled to make up the missed games

by playing at other provinces. The motivation for this proposal is that the suspension is a more
severe penalty for a committed Nomad. This proposal was seconded by Ronnie Knott-Craig and
was accepted by the committee after lengthy discussion.

Monthly Meeting Dated 30th March 2004

Resolved:
1. Further to the decision made by the members at the Annual General Meeting 25th November

2003, and the approval gained at the 96th National Management Meeting held on 7th February
2004, the playing colours of E.C. Nomads trousers and shorts will change from Aubergine to
Navy Blue.
2. The “No Show” penalty was discussed by the committee and it was decided that a R100.00 fine
or 3 months suspension would be imposed on the defaulter. Letters of apology must be sent to
the balance of the four ball and to the club in all cases.

Resolved:
1. Following the final meeting in December 2010 with all the Past Captains, it was agreed that all

Nomads attending funerals would remove all badges, portfolio badges and name badges as a sign
of respect and continuation of our tradition in doing so.

Resolved:
1. That only Winner and Runner-Up prizes would be allocated to each Gold Cup Division for the

2014 competition and that only a Winner’s prize would be allocated to each 2015 Gold Cup
Division winner in line with Clause 19 (viii) of the “Rules of Play”.

“19 ANNUAL 'GOLD CUP' COMPETITION
Clause (viii) The 'Gold Cup' shall be awarded to the winners only in each division and shall be held
by them for a period of one year but shall at all times remain the sole property of the NOMADS Golf
Club. There shall be no runners-up prize.”

Resolved:

1. That, should the Winner of the Over 55’s prize at a Monthly Game, win a division on the day,
he shall forfeit this prize to the next best Over 55’s player. He, along with ties, shall still qualify

Resolved:

1. That, the decision made at the Monthly Meeting dated 8 March 2011 above:
“Following the final meeting in December 2010 with all the Past Captains, it was agreed that,
all Nomads attending funerals, would remove all badges, portfolio badges and name badges as
a sign of respect and continuation of our tradition in doing so”,

be amended in that:
“Nomads would wear full Badges as a sign of respect to the family members there present,
thus enabling them the opportunity of identifying the nomad present at the funeral”

Resolved:

1. Following the February Committee Meeting, it was agreed that juniors under the age of 18 may
not play in a normal monthly game. This will be reserved for a Special Nomads/Juniors event.
