FAZ-NA Miniature Circuit Breakers
Tripping Characteristics Labeling
Eaton FAZ-NA miniature circuit breakers are available with “C” The front of each Eaton FAZ-NA miniature circuit
and “D” tripping characteristics. breaker is labeled for positive identification.
Type C trip curve: 5 to10 In IP20
Finger and Hand
C-curve devices are suitable for applications where medium
levels of inrush current are expected. Applications include small Touch Safe
transformers, lighting, pilot devices, control circuits and coils.
C-curve devices provide a medium magnetic trip point.
Type D trip curve: 10 to 20 In Conductor Type DIN Rail
Mounting
D-curve devices are suitable for applications where high levels Color Coded
of inrush current are expected. The high magnetic trip point Breaker Status
prevents nuisance tripping in high inductive applications such as Indicator
motors, transformers and power supplies.
Eaton FAZ-NA devices are current limiting, which means they
interrupt fault currents within one half cycle of the fault. Current
limiting devices offer superior protection by reducing peak
let-through current and energy.

The proper sizing of an overcurrent protection device is the responsibility of the customer and should be determined using the
application standards of the NEC (National Electric Code), CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) or other Wiring
applicable standards. Per fine print note of 2008 NEC Section 100 “A current in excess of rating may be Accessories
accommodated by certain equipment and conductors for a given set of conditions. Therefore, the rules for
