LOGODESIGN
The WASTELESS Logo is the core element in the exhi-
bition´s visual identity. It consists of the wordmark and
symbol. The main purpose of the exhibition is to raise
awareness of and give a clear overview of ecological
issues of the water environment in the oceans of our
planet. Moreover, WASTELESS shows the causes of this
situation and how to handle it nowadays. Therefore,
the wordmark’s typeface of the exhibition had to help
to deliver the message to the audience. The geomet-
ric and modern sans-serif typeface Acrom was cho-
sen for this purpose. The humanist aspects of this font
assist legibility across printed text and display usage
which gives an advantage to spread the correct idea
throughout all media.
The symbol of WASTELESS is a simplified representa-
tion of decomposed to microparticles plastic bottle. It
was particularly chosen as microplastics are the main
harmful for the nature and humans component in the
marine debris, which is caused not only by industrial
pollutants but also by simple daily use of plastic pack-
ages among all people.
The signature of the exhibition consists of the word-
mark, symbol and tagline. The WASTELESS Signature
reflects a unique perspective of the exhibition identity
and its difference among other ones.
The signature differs from the logo by an additional el-
ement - the tagline, which simply refers to the subject
of exhibition and not a product or company. In addi-
tion, it tells that the exhibition is going to happend in the
city of Graz in 2015.

END CONCLUSION 67
There is hope that we have set a sign with WASTELESS.
We want people to remember the wrapped Murinsel
and the enormous bottle representing the plastic con-
sumtion in Graz on Kameliterplatz for a long time. But
the main goal of course is to share the idea behind it.
Inspired by the artists, exponates and infographics,
hopefully, people will think about their contribution to
the environment, its pollution, and therefore, its effects
especially on the oceans. Maybe some people will
change their behaviour concerning plastic usage and
even if a small number of them does so, then we have
reached our goal.
It was a pleasure for us to work on this important and
current topic. We have read and learned so much about
plastic, its effects and our own behaviour towards na-
ture as well. The usage of plastic is so wide-spread
and normal and people can hardly avoid it. Even the
simple daily shopping in a supermarket includes using
plastic.
Hence, it is definitely a challenge to live a life with less
or without plastic and we hope that this exhibition will
guide people to do so.
All in all, we just have to say: WASTE LESS.
