Experience of being alone

The clock was ticking, alarming me as it was already 12.30 a.m. The bright
flashes of lightning lit up the dark sky and were immediately followed by the
loud blasts of thunder. The scariest thing was, I was all alone at home as my

parents had visited my grandparents in Penang. I am a cowardly girl but
halfheartedly decided to stay at home and hit the books as SPM was just
around the corner. There were only a few months left before the true war, the
one that I feared for five years will begin. Without any doubt, I called my best
friend, Farshalna and asked her to accompany me as I was not brave enough
to stay at home. Luckily, she agreed. While I wait for her to come, I updated

my blog after a whole day of studying very hard. "Mozilla Firefox is not
responding" kept flashing on the screen. The connection failed, and this

made me feel worse.

I jumped onto my bed in protest." Maybe I should read some novel or check my
instagram", thought myself. Without further a due, I went to grab my book at the
shelf. All of a sudden, the door creaked. I was petrified. "Mom, are you home?

Mom? Dad?" I walked slowly to their room. Yes, the door was opened, but
nothing was there. "Just stop imagining . Shut it down Nyna". I dragged my
feet, heading to my room. Out of the blue, a voice said, "Nyna...help..I need
your help..only you can help me, honey.." without glancing back, I ran as fast as

lightning and locked my room. My heart, only God knows how fast it was
beating. I could feel the colour drained from my face. "There was nothing,
believe in yourself Nyna. There is no such thing as ghosts" TUPPP! My heart
was racing as fast as lightning. The light blew out, and it was a pitch-black night.
I nearly jumped out of my skin. Thank God my phone was with me! I used my

phone as a flashlight. I was freaking out.

"God, please help me..I beg You..I promise to be nice after this" my
words trembled out of my mouth. I nearly cried like a child. I heard
many sounds which I had never heard before. On top of that, there
was a voice that begged me to help her. GULP...I held my breath and
thank God when the dark, cold night ended. I felt totally safe. My
phone was under my bed. In a blink of an eye, I groped under my

bed to retrieve my phone. "ARGGHHH!!!" I stood rooted to the
ground. A hand touched my skin. It was as cold as ice. I had no idea

what it was, but it really scared me to death. It freaked me out. I
grabbed my phone and ran out of my bedroom, the place where I felt

safe, but not anymore.

'KRING..KRINGG' the bell was ringing endlessly. I was drained from last
night. Unwillingly, I headed to the door, hoping that it was my parents. I
sneaked at the window to look who was there, and to my surprise, it was
my very best friend, Farshalna . I opened the door, and it was not only her
but another being. Yes, a scary-looking spirit was following behind her,

sending shivers down my spine. I almost fainted at sight. A woman
cloaked in blood, her face was pale as a corpse. She had long nest-like
hair which covered half of her face. The smell of her was terrible. "Leave
me alone !" I cried hysterically . "Hey, what are you talking about? Fine, I'll
leave you alone. "No, it wasn't you..just something behind you.." I said

slowly

"Nyna, listen listen to me..That is nonsense ! What are you
talking about? There is no such thing as ghosts!" said

Farshalna . "I swear..I saw something! Please believe me" as
the woman disappear from my sight slowly, smiling at me

showing her rotten teeth. "No..no..that's completely creepy ." "If
you don't believe me then who else will?" I sobbed. "Fine, let's
prove it . We will search high and low for this ridiculous thing!"
she said bravely. Without any word, she held my hand tightly,
offering no chance of escape. We walked through all parts of

my house. Suddenly, my nose sniffed a very foul smell.

"Do you smell what I do?" she nodded. YUPP..she lifted the mat which was in
front of the door and... "Euuww, that is terrible!" blood was covering the door to
the basement. In fact, it was an alternative way to enter the basement. I glared in
disbelief. "Whose blood is that?" "SHHH..." the blood was as cold as ice. She
tried to unlock the door. "Hey, are you out of your mind? It is late at night , I mean
early morning..Please don't. I think things will get worse. I beg you, don't do that"
She called more friends, and they arrived in half of an hour. Our friends opened
the door slowly. We thudded into the basement. "Ergghhh, it is totally stinky", our
friends babbled. Yes, it was. But nothing was going to prepare me for seeing

something that will haunt me for the rest of my life. It was my parent's body
hanged in the middle of the room! My parents were drenched in blood. "Mom ,
was it you who begged for help?" I fell to the ground, my knees went weak. I had
no strength. I imagined my mother's lullaby was playing in my head "baby..little
baby.. it's time to say goodbye..baby don't cry baby I will always be by your side".

A couple of hours later, "Nyna, forensic confirmed that your parents were
murdered in a robbery a week ago", the day when I was sitting for my trial
exams . Their bodies were buried safely in a burial ground near my home.

I've just realised something, it was tough to lose someone you love the
most, but it was. What I can do now, is to keep praying for their happiness

and hope their soul rest in peace. If I had the chance to hug them, kiss
them, or just even look at them, I would turn back the time, and I gladly do
it all over again. This experience taught me that with all the money that my
parents left me, time can never be bought, so if you still have a family who
you could hug, kiss, I would like to suggest you do it right now before it's

too late.

SONG:

By Steampianist

Little Gracie found a strange house Counting ten nine zero fingers
A place to play just past all the trees Won't you come and play the gray man's
Swift sharp needles do spot his face
Before he feeds on the sheep's white fleece game
Move quick, be an artful dodger
Phantasmagorical When the cleavers start swishing in
Willows of Wysteria
flames
A memorial Phantasmagorical
A Crescendo Willows of Wysteria
Of hysteria
A memorial
Little children went astray A Crescendo
In the sunny soil beneath Of hysteria
Wriggling worms in disarray
Hear them laughing underneath Little children went astray
In the sunny soil beneath
Wriggling worms in disarray
Hear them laughing underneath

Secret behind
the song

May God blessings be with us

This song was basically talking about the
events of the murder of Grace Budd, who was
killed then eaten by a serial killer by the
name of Albert Fish. Albert Fish A.K.A. "The
gray man" or "The Werewolf of Wysteria" was a
worldwide serial killer who enjoyed the taste
of human flesh and killed many children under

the age of 12 to devour them. When he was
seeing an ad on a newspaper that said a man

(Grace Budd's father) was looking for
employees to work in his farm, Albert Fish had

decided that he would have him killed.

However, things did not go like he had
originally planned it to be. When they were
outside, Grace Budd had planted a small kiss
on Fish's cheek. The moment it occurred,

Fish had decided he was going to kill her
instead of the father.

In order for his plan to work, Fish had told
Grace's parents if she could join him on

going to a birthday party. However, at that
time such things like kidnapping or murder
did not happen frequently so they allowed her

to go.

When they arrived at Fish's house, he told
Grace to wait outside for him while he went
to change for the party. He went inside and
stripped himself then hid in his closet and

called out for Grace to come inside the
house. When Grace went inside his room, she

found him naked and immediately went to
make a run for it but unfortunately he was
too fast. He chopped Grace up and ate her.
That was the last time Grace was ever seen.
