‘My work is about human behaviour, about how we try to connect, how we interact, how we love, how we long, how we desire, how we distract, how we look back at our personal history, how we deal with pain, how we hope for better things, how we protect ourselves behind masks. “It is a cry, it is a laugh. In a weird way it displays social issues”.’ Objects play a vital role in the human experience. As they traverse our lives, they bear the often-overlooked imprints of our stories, memories, and burdens. Yvette's artistic journey centers on revealing these imprints in an honest yet poetic and transcending way. Through meditation and profound empathy, Yvette reweaves the narratives, crafting a mesmerizing visual poetry that beckons contemplation. Her metamorphosed artifacts possess a blend of archaeological intrigue and personal resonance. The narratives are specific to the object themselves, yet they invoke a shared experience, inviting us to forge a deeper bond with our belongings, ourselves, and one another.
