Artist of the Year

Matt Marshak is
on musical quest

Since Day One, Artist of the Year Matt Matt Marshak
Marshak’s calling has been diversity. With
early days as a rock/pop sideman on New
York City’s Bleeker Street to an international
solo career in the funk/jazz world, he now
continues his quest to expand his musical
horizons.

Fans can catch Marshak in action during
the festival at Jazz at the Brewery at 1 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 12, at Dogfish Head in Milton (511
Chestnut St.) and 10 p.m. with Nick Colionne
at The Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach.

Marshak’s sound is influenced by artists
such as Prince, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford,
George Benson, James Taylor, Keb Mo, Max-
well, Anthony Hamilton, BB King and Albert
Collins.

The last few years have brought him to
some of Europe's biggest jazz fests, placed
him on the top 30 jazz chart, and have
brought forth his latest release, "On The
Rocks." This album features production and
appearances by Carl Burnett (Larry Carlton/
Robben Ford/Branford Marsalis), Mario
Cruz (Jaco Pastorius), and Chris Kent (Steve
Lukather).
