EMERALD ROSE

It happened 15 years ago, that day was the first day I needed
schooling in kindergarten. I was very scared after my mom left
me in that kindergarten after the registration session was over.
I went to my class to meet my teachers and classmates. During
break time, the teachers allow me and my friends to play in
the park. I just sat on the bench near the swing watched my
friend while looking at my friends played.

Someone greeted me "hi, my name is emerald" it was at that time that I
recognized a very beautiful and cute Arabic mixed girl. Her hair was
brown and she was very beautiful When I saw her eyes, I was very
fascinated, her eyes were emerald green and from there, I knew her
name matched her eyes. Without hesitation emerald sat next to me and
started talking to me."hi, I'm emerald rose" she said with a sweet smile I
greeted her and told her my name. “Hi, I'm Faiq Mikael" it started at that
moment Emerald and I became good friends. We do everything together
and we don't have any secrets from each other.



Coincidentally my family and Emerald's family have
also known each other for a long time, but I have
never met Emerald before. Yes, Emerald has come to
my house many times when my family holds any
event, but due to my sociable nature, I have never
met her. Our friendship remained until high school;
Dwight School is a school that both of our parents
registered so that we can continue our education in
the same school.



However, one day something happened in our friendship, at that time
Emerald and I were walking to the library to revise for our upcoming
exams. I asked her ” Emerald, why have you been avoiding seeing me
lately?" Yes, many times Emerald gave her excuses when he asked
Emerald to meet. And Emerald's excuses are the same." I'm sorry Faiq
I'm very busy with my piano practice for next month's competition"
said Emerald but Faiq knew Emerald was cheating because Faiq went
to Emerald's piano class to see if true Emerald was really busy, but
Emerald's teacher said that Emerald hadn't come to practice for 2
weeks. However, Faiq didn't want to think about what was wrong with
Emerald



Faiq is more and more puzzled by Emerald's
behaviour. Emerald used to be a cheerful and
friendly person with everyone but now
Emerald has become quiet and likes to sit
alone. Sometimes he asks Emerald if she has a
problem but Emerald will answer that she is
just stressed



"Finally, I can enjoy" said Faiq after he sent his last exam paper.
After the end of school Faiq hurriedly went to Emerald's house
because he was very worried about the girl. Yes, it's been 2 weeks
since Emerald didn't come to school and she didn't take the
exam. Faiq has called her many times but no answer. No one
knows where Emerald disappeared. After being invited in by
Emerald's mother, Faiq went straight to Emerald's room to meet
her. However, before he went up, Emerald's mother said to him, "
Faiq, I hope you will be patient and please give her
encouragement," a few lines of speech from Emerald's mother
had made Faiq's heart palpitations.



As soon as Faiq opened the door of Emerald's
room, he was stunned. Emerald's body was full of
wires and she was put on a breathing aid.
Emerald's mother came and told Faiq that she had
stage 4 brain cancer. Emerald's mother said "at any
moment she will leave us".



And it true after a week, Emerald leaves
them. Faiq is the most sad and
disappointed person because he should
have been with Emerald when she was
fighting with her illness.



Faiq spoke alone while looking at the
sky "Emerald rose, I will keep our
friendship until my last breath" that was
Faiq's promise to himself.
