Our resort in Himachal Pradesh is not just a place to enjoy the outdoors ; the sense of spirituality that
permeates through the air can be felt by anyone who travels throughout the region. Indeed, the entire
belt of the lower and upper Himalayas imbibe in everyone a sense of wellness and peace when going
through these places.
For those who want to experience a wellness getaway over a long weekend that takes them through some
of the most picturesque and serene locations , we have compiled this short itinerary for you to plan
accordingly, and have seamlessly included a stay at our resort in Himachal Pradesh as well!
Your journey takes you across the northern reaches of India, starting from the lower foothills of the
Himalayas going all the way to some of the highest reaches of these grand mountains.

Rishikesh

The crucible of spirituality in India, second only to Varanasi. Rishikesh is currently heralded as the yoga
capital of the world with its many ashrams for meditation. Originally the waypoint for pilgrims on their
way to the Himalayas, there is so much one can do within Rishikesh itself.
It was the Beatles that popularized this small hill town back in the 60s, when they visited Maharishi

Mahesh Yogi. The ashram that is now christened after the Beatles lies aways from Rishikesh, decked out in
the band’s colors and exuding the essence of a different time and place. Having said to be one of the
locations where Rama performed penance after slaying the demon king Ravana, there are also several
bridges in Rishikesh named after the king and his brother. Namely the Ram Jhula and the Laxman Jhula!
Rishikesh is not merely a location of religious spirituality; the multitude of streams, waterfalls and
hillocks provide the ultimate sense of physical wellbeing when you reach there and take a moment for
yourself. The Ganga flows through Rishikesh at a steady rate almost all year round thanks to its source,
the Gangotri glacier. Finally, these holy lands are also the perfect spot for some adventure. River rafting is
a popular activity in Rishikesh, along with zip-lining across the Ganga!

You can start your spiritual journey by arriving in Rishikesh from Delhi, an overnight journey.

Nalagarh:
Nalagarh is a lovely transit point before your next big stop. This small hill town boasts of an ancient fort
that was constructed in the 15th century. Besides that, the picturesque views of the lower Himalayas are
definitely worth a stay. Strolling around the slow paced town savoring some local pakoras, siddu or
babru. You can take this time to visit the fort and the palace on your visit. Such places in small towns
have their own charm!

Dharamshala

Here, you enter the mighty abode of spirituality. Dharamshala is one of the other major points of

wellness in these hills after Rishikesh. The very name Dharamshala means “The cradle of the spiritual”.

Our resort in Himachal Pradesh is a short distance away from the main town of Dharamshala, giving you

plenty of opportunity to explore the various monasteries in Dharamshala, along with some of the ancient

temples of Dharamshala.

Dharamshala is currently the center of Tibetan Buddhism in India. We have discussed at length about
how the Dalai Lama established his presence here and oversaw the construction of some of the most
iconic monasteries in India. The Namgyal Monastery , the Norbulingka Monastery and centers like the
Library of Tibetan Works and Archives that contain some of the country’s most ancient written scriptures
are all in part thanks to the Lama’s efforts.

Apart from monasteries, Dharamshala is home to ancient temples as well. The Masrur temples in Kangra

are one such example. Finally, as you reach our resort in Himachal Pradesh, you can give yourself into the

true spirit of wellness as you settle down for a massage therapy at our spa, or rest your feet after the

long journey using completely natural Himalayan black salt that contains therapeutic properties.

The various activities at our resort in Himachal Pradesh both indoors and outdoors do wonders to a

person’s state of mind! The Pahadi way of life is a relaxed one, because where does rushing ever get us?

Keeping away from digital devices lets you detox from the world of buttons and technology, helping the

Amritsar

Finally, it is time to depart the hills and visit the plains for one last stop. The famed Harmandir Sahib
Golden Temple of Amritsar is a special visit for its sense of love within different communities. The
communal aspect of everything within the temple: From the food to the prayers to the large rest halls for
tired pilgrims, exude a certain type of wellness within everyone. Everyone becomes calm and serene
after washing their feet in the sacred tank surrounding the temple, and becomes at one with the world!
