TECHNOLOGY

TRADITION

FOR OVER
65 YEARS MENETA
HAS DELIVERED

TECHNOLOGY
Our innovation is the result of world-class materials know-how,
unique testing capabilities, and quality assurance that meet the
industry’s highest standards.
TRUST
As part of the automotive industry’s global supply chain,
we understand the importance of stability and timing. We are
dedicated to being a reliable partner – today, and in the future.
TRADITION
We are proud of our traditions for collaboration, craftsmanship,
and engineering excellence.

From our beginnings in 1953 as a local toolmaker and punching workshop, we’ve
grown to become a global supplier of high-quality braking components for the
automotive industry. Today, we are over 2,000 employees in Europe, Asia, and North
America. We design, test, and produce millions of brake shims, backplates, and brake
components each year.

TECHNOLOGY
IN BALANCE

Martin Søgaard is a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry, and one of
Meneta’s highly specialized engineers and research technicians.
He knows everything there is to know about rubber, steel, and
adhesives – the three key components of our shim product line.

Technology is Meneta’s driving force. You see it in the materials we use, the quality
of our prototypes, and our product performance. You see it in our constant focus
on perfecting our testing capabilities.

Probably the most critical aspect of our innovative product development is careful
and dedicated contact with customers and suppliers. Suppliers help us ensure
state-of-the-art materials and methods. Customers define needs, and challenge
us constantly.

The innovation process is about finding the right balance between materials,
complexity, and cost for any given project. We have a state-of-the-art materials
science lab, and our approach to computer simulations and modelling combined
with testing is unique – that is what helps us find the right combination in
every project.

Martin Søgaard, Ph.D.
Manager, R&D & Materials Science

””We produce millions of shims annually, and car

manufacturers need every one of them to perform
well and to perform the same way every time.
If issues arise, car manufacturers get quick and
dedicated technical support. When there is an
actual problem, customers can trust that we are
there to solve it.”

Head of Marketing
& Communications

Line Møllebjerg
Product Manager

“After Martin and his materials science team have developed new materials
and customers have sent us drawings, I take over and follow our products
through each individual process stage, all the way to the start of serial pro-
duction. This ensures that our tailor-made products meet each customer’s
exact specifications, and that my team and I can guarantee the same high
level of professionalism in all that we do.”
Line Møllebjerg
Product Manager

“We value tradition, but we have a modern culture. Open and effective
communication – with our partners, internally, and to the market – is an
important part of our everyday work. Being part of a global supply chain
demands focused and effective communication.”

Head of Marketing & Communications

QUALITY FROM
COLLABORATION

Jacob Storgaard and Michael Stærmose work closely together
to ensure that daily production stays on track. They compare
their collaboration to that of a Formula One team, where
everyone has a specific and essential job, and all understand
and work towards the same goal.

The thing that characterizes the way we work at Meneta is that there is little
hierarchy, says Jacob. Everyone from the most senior engineer to the craftsman
on the shop floor can contribute to projects with their unique knowledge and
experience. Ideas can come from anywhere, and it doesn’t take us long to get
from idea to implementation.

The fact that we have all capabilities from tool-design, prototyping, testing, and
production in house means we are agile enough to react quickly to our customers’
needs – even when those needs are challenging. It is a great combination of
engineering and craftsmanship.

Very few days are the same in this job, adds Michael. We see a lot of different
challenges, and are constantly working to adapt our production to new needs.
That in itself requires a high level of collaboration.

Jens Thuesen
R&D Brake Noise & Vibration Manager

””Developing, discovering, and solving problems is

what we do. In that way, working at Meneta is like a
playground for me. We solve problems - that’s why I
became an engineer. I can’t remember the last time
we had to say “no” to a customer’s testing request.”

FLEXIBILITY
TO SOLVE
CHALLENGES

Jens Thuesen is a noise and vibration specialist. He leads a team
of highly specialized NVH engineers that run product tests on
Meneta’s unique dynamometers, placed around the world.

Anyone can run a standard test on a dyno. But our dynos are designed, built, and
programmed in house. That gives us the flexibility to perform tests based on just
about any need: everything from testing brake systems in extreme cold to testing
different pressures and speeds - we can quickly program our equipment to do these
tests ourselves.

A TRUSTED
PARTNER

Our pursuit of the highest industry standards also applies to
delivery and quality management.

We are IATF 16949:2016 certified – the automotive industry’s most widely used
standard. This certification ensures adherence to stringent customer-specific
requirements, and continuous focus on risk reduction and manufacturing efficiency
through industry best practices.
