KATA PENGANTAR
Bahasa inggris merupakan bahasa yang sangat penting untuk dikuasai di
era globalisasi seperti saat ini. Setiap orang diwajibkan untuk belajar berbicara,
mendengar dan terutama dapat menguasai keahlian dalam menulis dengan
menggunakan bahasa inggris. Belajar menulis sangat penting untuk siapa saja
terutama bagi pemula seperti siswa sekolah menengah atas untuk mengasah skill
penguasaan penulisan mereka. Selain tentang mempelajari menulis, pemahaman
mengenai penulisan merupakan faktor utama dalam pembelajaran bahasa inggris.
Dalam menyusun buku ini, penulis menggunakan materi hortatory exposition
berdasarkan dengan kurikulum 2013 yang ada di sekolah tempat peneliti melakukan
penelitian.
Banyak orang berprasangka dalam menulis itu sulit dan membingungkan
untuk dipahami terutama dalam materi penulisan teks hortatory exposition. Hal
tersebut tidak seluruhnya benar akan tetapi tidak juga salah, tergantung seberapa
sering kita mempelajarinya. Dalam belajar menulis dibutuhkan suatu strategi
pembelajaran yang tepat yang bersifat efektif. Dengan mempelajari karakteristik dari
jenis teksnya seperti, social function, generic structure, language feature, serta
contoh teks yang ada di hortatory exposition itu sendiri.
Buku ini ada untuk membantu pembaca maupun siswa sekolah menengah
atas dalam memahami serta menguasai materi bahasa inggris dalam menulis teks
hortatory exposition. Materi dalam buku ini didalamnya tersusun dari penjelasan

terciptanya buku ini. Penulis dalam menyusun buku ini menyadari adanya banyak
kekurangan di dalam buku ini, maka dari itu diharapkan adanya saran dan kritikan

Petunjuk Penggunaan Modul
Pada modul ini siswa akan diajak dalam kegiatan pembelajaran mengenai
hortatory exposition dimana dalam modul ini siswa dilatih untuk memahami

siswa diberikan kesempatan untuk mengekspresikan tulisan mereka dengan cara
memnbuat teks berdasarkan bahasa mereka sendiri. Berikut rincian penjelasan
mengenai petunjuk penggunaan modul :
1. Dalam modul ini terdiri dari tiga unit, Setiap unit didampingi dengan video
youtube sebagai pendamping media pembelajarannya.
2. Modul ini dapat dipelajari secara daring dan luring baik, baik didalam kelas
maupun luar sekolah.
3. Dalam modul ini, setiap unitnya terdapat link maupun barcode di halaman
awal unit. siswa dapat mencari materi dari media youtube dengan cara
menulis link atau menscan barkot yang ada.
4. Dalam memahami modul ini kalian dapat memahaminya di uraian materi
disarankan memahaminya secara urut sesuai dengan susunan yang ada di
modul, dikarenakan modul ini di susun dari menyimak hingga
mempraktekan materi pada akhir bagian, sehingga siswa tidak mengalami
kebingungan dalam belajar.
5. Pelajari modul ini dengan menyimak video kemudian dilanjutkan dengan
mengamati contoh contoh yang telah disediakan di dalam penjelasan dan
dilanjutkan dengan menjawab pertanyaan yang ada divideo.
6. Kalian dapat melakukan tanya jawab atau berdiskusi kepada teman secara
langsung jika diluar kelas kalian bisa berdiskusi melalui aplikasi zoom.
7. Kerjakan latihan serta tugas yang ada di video untuk mengukur kemampuan
belajar mengenai materi dalam modul ini.
8. Kalian dapat memberikan jawaban di bagian modul ini jika ada beberapa
siswa yang bersangkutan belajar secara luring dapat menjawabnya dengan

Don’t Use Drugs
Nowadays, we must pay attention to
a thing called drugs. Drugs are very
dangerous for anyone. Drugs not only
damage our body but also endanger the
future of adolescents as the next generation
of the nation.
Drug use will affect the health of the
users. A drug addict will look unattractive
from the physical appearance. Drug addicts
will be very susceptible to skin infections.
In addition, drug addicts will experience neurological disorders, loss of consciousness,
difficulty getting ancestry, and also the possibility of exposed of HIV/AIDS. Recently, many
teenagers are exposed to overdose until the end of death due to drug addiction.
Besides the physical disorder, the psychological condition of drug addicts also
becomes disrupted. Drug addicts always covered with stress, lack of confidence, depression
and couldn’t think clearly. This condition will get worse when they get pressure from their
surrounding environment. Sometimes, drug addicts could feel over confident when they are
using drugs but it’s actually temporary and fake.
Drugs are also a powerful weapon in destroying the life and future of its users. This is
sometimes not realized even considered unimportant by the teenagers. If teenagers use drugs
it can endanger their future. From the data, 32 percent of drugs users in Indonesia are
teenagers. So, if many teenagers use drugs, it can endanger this country, harm youth
generation, whereas youth are nation expectation.
So, from now on we must pay attention to drugs problem because it’s very dangerous
not only for our body but also for our next generation.

The implementation of health protocol during the new normal is not over yet
The covid 19 pandemic happened, many restrictions Source: unair
put in place by the government to break the chain of the
spread of covid 19. Many schools and the world of education
are required to study online, and people decide work from
home. Entering the new normal, people are not longer care
about health protocols they are abandon the social
distancing, wear masks, wash the hands and other health
protocols. The covid 19 pandemic is not over yet, the public
are expected to be more aware of implementing health
protocols if they are don’t do health protocol otherwise it is
the same as making the virus grow back and mutate, causing
new cases to spread covid 19.
Firstly, the kemenkes gives a statement to apply the policy of a new normal start from
June 2020 until now. The government apply of vaccines throughout Indonesia to support for the
success of the health protocol. the first and second vaccines have been carried out on January 13,
2021, and the third vaccine start on 21 January until now. From vaccination that the government-
held, it is causing many perceptions in society about health protocol. So society seems to ignore
the health protocols because they feel have strong immunity after vaccination.
Secondly, the coronavirus mutates quickly causing an increase in the number of cases of
variant covid 19, every single month cases a raised with a new variant. It makes society choose
to ignore the protocol during new normal. In the early pandemic, they are afraid because the
covid 19 was found as the first case pandemic in 2019.
So they don't know for sure the danger and the impact of covid 19 in their healthy so the society
chooses discipline in applying health protocol. These days, many new variants make people are
tired of faced with cases of covid 19. In fact, the Covid-19 cases in Indonesia have not
disappeared, causing people to be tired of travelling using masks so they only use old masks
without replacing them with new ones.
Furthermore, The lack of clarity about the end of the pandemic is not an obstacle to
continuing to carry out health protocols during the current new normal. however, in this case
due to mutations that are always changing there has not been found an effective vaccine
against COVID-19. we are only relying on health protocols in stopping the spread of the
covid 19 virus.
Therefore, we are need to continue the habit of carrying out the health protocols that
have been suggested by the government. especially in the current new normal era, pay more
attention to and maintain health by eating nutritious food and wearing a mask when leaving
the house and don't forget to always wash your hands before eating or interacting with other
people. it is important to implement health protocols to stop the spread of covid 19. If the
body is not feeling well, it is recommended to eat foods rich in vitamins or go to a doctor to
check your status with a swab PCR.
