ing the Beatles…and “Leave It to Beaver” premiered on CBS. This year holds a very
special place in the story of Villa Joseph Marie, as well. It was in this year that
construction of the current school building was completed, the expanding student
population having outgrown Maria Hall, the original school building.
Like the toys, musical groups, and television of yesterday, Villa Joseph Marie
has had to keep up with a changing society. More young women today are choos-
ing to continue their education in fields such as biomedical engineering, aeronau-
tics, and actuarial sciences. But, like their Villa sisters who went before them, they
want to play sports, sing in the choir, and give their time in works of charity, as well.
In March 2019, Villa announced the first capital campaign in the school’s history,
Founded in Faith. Fulfilling the Mission. This momentous occasion was celebrated
with a cocktail reception held March 3. Amid the ice and snow of late winter, more
than 80 leadership donors gathered to witness the progress of the building, hear
from students and faculty on the effects of the new Performing Arts Center on the
future of Villa, and revel in the progress of the campaign. Funds from this extraor-
dinary campaign are being used to complete the performing arts center and will set
the stage for the construction of a STEAM hallway on the first floor of the school,
complete with robotics, computer, and innovations labs, a sound booth, recording
studio, and media center, in addition to renovated mathematics, science, and tech-
nology classrooms. Already, $3.4 million has been raised toward the $6 million goal.

Eighteen holes. Lunch. Dinner. A little fundraising and a lot
of fun. This is the Villa Joseph Marie Golf Outing. Now in its
20th year, the 2019 Golf Outing will be held on Monday, Septem-
ber 30, at Jericho National Golf Club in New Hope, PA.
The Villa Golf Outing was initiated in 1999 by a group of Villa
parents and friends as a function of Villa’s Parents’ Guild. Spear-
headed by Sal and Pat Caimano, the first two events were held at
Middletown Country Club and raised a couple thousand dollars
each year. Approximately 30 golfers, and Villa’s newly formed
Golf Team, were active participants in the success of the Outings.
To elevate the prestige of the Outing and promote increased
participation, the event was moved to an early Spring date and,
under the guidance of Ron and Carol Zemnick, Spring Mill
Country Club was secured as the new venue. The new location,
which also served as the “home” club for Villa’s Golf Team, pro-
vided the beautiful greens, excellent food, and exceptional ser-
vice that helped propel the Outing to raise $15,000-$20,000 per
year for the Guild for the next 17 years.
Under the guidance of Parents’ Guild Fathers Committee
Chairmen Tom Burns, Tim Edbrooke, Roger Messina, Mike Ty-
siak, Rob Boyce, Billy Eisler, and Andy Taylor, new and exciting
fundraising opportunities and increased sponsorship have been
introduced to the Outing. The Outing Committee is particularly
excited to host the 20th Annual event at Jericho National. This
exclusive location promises to continue the tradition of excel-
lence expected for the Outing at a great price.
