Well, this is different!

These last several weeks have certainly been disruptive to us all, but they have been particularly
unsettling for students everywhere around the world. Those of us who spend our days in schools
thrive on a schedule, routines, and — especially here at Villa — celebrations and traditions. Our
worlds have been turned upside down, and we’ve proven just how flexible we can be. It turns out
that our Villa community can be pretty resourceful and nimble, and we were able to keep the ball
rolling in the face of significant adversity.

The separation from our girls, faculty and staff has made it clear just how incredibly special our
school and community is for me, for each other, for our families, and for our community. Villa is a
spirit, a love, and a way of life that lasts even when we are apart — and it will make our ultimate
reunion that much more special and exciting.

I think we all have learned the meaning of “hope” a bit more during this stay-at-home order. I hope
we are reunited soon. I hope we can celebrate and laugh and cry and learn together soon. And I
hope our Seniors get the Villa send-off they so desperately deserve.

With hope, we look to the future, and it is easy to see great things for our school. The most won-
derful and talented students will soon grace the hallways once again, and the laughter and excite-
ment of our dedicated faculty will be heard in person. I can’t wait!

With your financial support, events like Villa’s Annual Spring Auction generate the resources to fuel
the engine of our institution. Our courses, programs and facilities will continue to improve and
thrive because of you. I hope I have the chance to say hello and THANK YOU in person very soon! I
know we are all very grateful. The joy we experience each and every day living out the wonderful
Mission passed on to us by the Sisters of Saint Casimir is thriving, even though we are apart. Thank
you for helping us to always be:

Always more, always better, always with love,

Love and prayers,

Patrons

Along with the rest of the world, the Villa community has struggled with the effects of COVID-19.
The loss of our physical connection to family and friends has been one of the greatest impacts on
our lives. This year, our Patrons have generously supported Villa by donating the cost of their
Saturday, March 28, 2020 Annual Spring Auction event admission tickets to the Annual Fund. With
their support, an additional $5,190 has been donated for financial aid in support of those students
whose families have been directly affected by this crisis.

From all of us at Villa Joseph Marie, we thank you!
