Jerusalem, ENTRANCE HYMN
My Destiny
I have fixed my eyes on your hills, Jerusalem, my destiny!
Refrain Though I cannot see the end for me,
I cannot turn away.
We have set our hearts for the way;
This journey is our destiny.
Let no one walk alone
The journey makes us one

Other spirits, lesser gods, have courted me with lies
Here among you I have found a truth which bids me rise
See, I leave the past behind; a new land calls to me
Here among you now I have a glimpse of what might be (Refrain)

In my thirst, you let me drink the waters of your life
Here among you I have met the savior, Jesus Christ (Refrain)

All the worlds I have no seen to you open to my view
Here among you I have found the vision, bright and new (Refrain)

To the tombs I went to mourn the hope I thought was gone
Here among you I awoke to unexpected dawn (Refrain)

OPENING PRAYERS

Wisdom 3: 1–9 FIRST READING

Read by A reading from the book of Wisdom.
Kerri Gahite But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will
ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and
their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us to be
their destruction; but they are at peace.
For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of
immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good,
because God tested them and found them worthy of Himself;
Like gold in the furnace He tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering
He accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and
will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule
over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them forever.
Those who trust in Him will understand truth, and the
faithful will abide with Him in love, because grace and mercy
are upon His holy ones, and He watches over His elect ones.

The word of the Lord. Response: Thanks be to God

Psalm 23 RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Response: The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.
The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want
Fresh and green are the pastures
Where He gives me repose. (Response)
Near restful waters He leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.
He guides me along the right path:
He is true to His name. (Response)
You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing. (Response)
Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life.
In the Lord’s own house I shall dwell forever and ever. (Response)

Romans 5: 5–11 SECOND READING

Read by A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans.
Jules Labonte And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. For while we
were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely
will anyone die for a righteous person – though perhaps for a good person
someone might actually dare even to die. But God proves His love for us, in
that while we still were sinners, Christ died for us. Much more surely then,
now that we have been justified by His blood, we will be saved through Him
from the wrath of God. For if we were enemies, we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, we
will be saved by His life. But more than that, we even boast in God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

The word of the Lord.  Response: Thanks be to God

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Glory and praise to you, O Lord Jesus Christ
We have stilled our hearts and now we listen to your word.

John 14:1-7 GOSPEL

The Lord be with you. And also with you
A reading from the Gospel according to John
Response: Glory to you, Lord

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my
Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have
told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am,

there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord we do not know where you are going. How can
we know the way?” Jesus said to him “I am the way, and the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will
know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
The Gospel of the Lord.  Response: Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Make Me a OFFERTORY HYMN
Channel of
Your Peace Make me a channel of your peace
Where there is hatred let me bring your love
Where there is injury, your pardon Lord
And where there’s doubt true faith in you

Make me a channel of our peace
Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope
Where there is darkness only light
And where there’s sadness ever joy

Oh Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul

Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving of ourselves that we receive
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life

EUCHARISTIC ACCLAMATION

Holy, holy, holy, Lord
God of Host
Heaven and earth are full of your glory
Hosanna, in the highest

until you come again.

Gentle Woman
Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with you,
Refrain Blessed are you among women,
Verse 1 and blest is the fruit of your womb, Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of
death, Amen

Gentle woman, quiet light, morning star, so strong and bright,
Gentle mother, peaceful dove, teach us wisdom; teach us love

You were chosen by the Father;
You were chosen for the Son.
You were chosen from all women and for woman, shining one
Refrain

Blest in turn all women, too
Blessed they with peaceful spirits
Blessed they with gentle hearts
Refrain

Songs of SONG OF FAREWELL
the Angel
May songs of the angels welcome you and guide you along your way.
May the smiles of the martyrs greet your own as darkness turns into day.
Every fear will be undone and death will be no more,
As songs of the angels bring you home before the face of God.

FINAL COMMENDATION & BLESSING

I know that my Redeemer lives
And on the last day, I shall rise again

In my Body, I shall look on God my Savior
In my Body, I shall look on God my Savior

I myself shall see Him, my own eyes shall gaze on Him this is the hope I
cherish in my heart

On Eagle’s Wings RECESSIONAL HYMN
Verse 1
Refrain You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life, say to the Lord: “My refuge, my Rock in
Verse 2 whom I trust!”

Verse 3 And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Verse 4 Make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.

The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear:
Under His wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield

You need not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
Though thousands fall about you,
near you it shall not come

For to His angels He’s given a command
to guard you in all of your ways;
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
And hold you, hold you in the palm of His Hand.

GOD’S GARDEN

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
So He closed His arms around you
And whispered “Come to Me”
You did not deserve what you went through
And so He gave you rest
God’s garden must be beautiful
For He only takes the best
In time we saw you sinking
We watched you fade away
Our hearts were almost broken
You fought so hard to stay
But when we saw you sleeping
So peacefully free of pain
We could not wish you back

To suffer that again
If you had spoken before you died
These are the words you’d have replied
“Weep not for me, but courage take
And love one another for my sake”
