urudev to children

“Nature is always pure. Only wants to bless you. If our values are low, we
start disturbing nature. Nature only echoes our actions and behavior.
Learn to love Nature.”

- Swami Chinmayananda

Message from Swami Swaroopananda
Global Head, Chinmaya Mission, World Wide.

Dear Educators,

Hari Om!

An Educator is indeed fortunate to be a recipient of love of so many students. Yet, at the same
time, being an educator means a great amount of responsibility. Especially, in these unusual times of the Corona
virus.
I congratulate all educators who are adapting to new ways of teaching and managing to engage and enrich the lives
of students, despite the challenges and demands. It is important to also give some thought to how these times may
be perceived by children. Let us not get eager to create a minute by minute schedule for them.
Children need assurance, need to feel loved and comforted and more so in these times. They may not completely
understand what is happening but can sense the subtle anxiety which we as elders feel. Just like us, the children are
experiencing something like this for the first time.
As the uncertainty continues, some behavioural issues could come up – protest, frustration, oppositional
behaviour. In a way this can be expected…after all, although the idea of being off from school for weeks sounds
awesome, they were probably picturing fun times like a summer break, not the reality of being ‘trapped’ at home
and not seeing their friends.
Thus, we must assure them that things shall be fine. Teach them to be cautious but remember their emotional well-
being is more important than academic skills. Let us create happy memories and also remember the Motto Pujya
Gurudev has given for Chinmaya Vidyalayas ‘Keep Smiling’.

Love,
Swami Swaroopananda

FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK

Hari Om, Namaste!

It was the day after the last CBSE Class 10 exams when this
panicking announcement to close schools came in. The class 12
CBSE students are almost at the verge of finishing their exams, all
pending exams got postponed and this unforeseen situation of
COVID-19 stuck us. Schools had to abruptly shut down and
children were advised to stay indoors in their homes. But it was
heartening to see almost all schools, within a week rose up to the
situation and faculty members quickly adapted technology and
without exception all schools started conducting online classes. Our
sincere appreciations go to all the teachers.

Were just the academic inputs given? Stunning range of activities
have been conducted by our schools for children through online platforms. Yoga classes to teach asanas, Pranayama,
exercises, videos to watch sports activities, eye exercises and meditations. Online music classes, satsangs, art classes
on puppet making, art from scrap items etc etc. children have been guided to write poems, stories and schools also
got them published in social media. One of the schools guided children on handwriting exercises. Children have
prepared sanitizers, masks with the guidance of schools and have distributed in their neighborhood. Schools
encouraged children to participate in online quizzes and few have won prizes too. Teachers conducted online
Balvihar classes for children.

We are very proud of our star children who are serving the people risking their own life. We would like to make special
mention of our CV COVID warriors.
