2022 Boule Conference Delegates
2022 PANDEMIC ELECTION GUIDELINES

1. Only sorors who have active membership status as defined in Article VIII, Section 2, (p. 13) of the Bylaws of Alpha
Kappa Omega Chapter, Revised, December 23, 2019, are eligible to vote. Article VIII, Section 2, (p. 13) states: An
active member is a soror who meets all financial obligations for the current year of both Alpha Kappa Omega
Chapter and the international body. Every active member is a member of the international body. Article XI, Section
4, (p. 18) states: A Soror shall be eligible to be a delegate to the Regional Conference or to the Boule only if she
has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Omega for at least two (2) consecutive years (24 months) and, did not
serve as a delegate to the Regional Conference in the preceding year or to the previous Boule; excluding the
Basileus, Anti-Basileus of Programs, Anti-Basileus of Operations, and Graduate Advisors who may serve
consecutive terms as a delegate, if reelected.

2. A plurality vote shall be required for election. Only the vote of members present at the meeting will be taken via
Simply Voting.

3. Nominations will only be taken via email to [email protected] from Friday, February 11 - Tuesday,
February 22, 2022. The names and photos of all nominated sorors for conference delegate must be submitted by
Tuesday, February 22, to appear on the Saturday, March 5, 2022 ballot. All nominated sorors must be
financial for 2022.

4. Voting for delegates shall be by single secret ballot. All eligible members presented at the Saturday, February 19,
2022, meeting will receive a ballot from Simply Voting on Saturday, March 5, 2022, to cast their vote. The voting
window on Saturday, March 5, 2022, is between 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

5. A soror shall be eligible one time in any two-year period to be elected as a delegate.
6. A soror shall vote for 6 delegates.
7. In the event of a tie between candidates, an additional ballot will be issued to the membership for a revote. Note, a

tie does not constitute a plurality vote; and therefore, the body will revote on a candidate until she receives a plurality
vote. (Roberts Rules of Order, 12th edition).

70th Boule Conference Delegate Election

Sorors represent Alpha Kappa Omega and be our voice as a Boule Delegate at the
2022 Boule Conference on July-15-20, 2022 in Orlando Florida.

Every active member is a member of the international body, Article XI, Section 4,
(p.18) states: A Soror shall be eligible to be a delegate to the Regional Conference
or to the Boule only if she has been an active member of Alpha Kappa Omega for
at least two (2) consecutive years (24 months) and, did not serve as a delegate to
the Regional Conference in the preceding year or to the previous Boule; excluding
the Basileus, Anti-Basileus of Programs, Anti-Basileus of Operations, and Graduate
Advisors who may serve consecutive terms as a delegate, if reelected.

Nominations will only be taken via email to [email protected] Friday,
February 11, 2022 to Tuesday, February 22, 2022, 7:00PM. The names and
photos of all nominated sorors for conference delegate must be submitted by
Tuesday, February 22, 2022 by 7:00PM to the Nominating Committee to appear
on the Saturday, March 5, 2022 ballot. All nominated sorors must be financial for
2022. Nominees will be notified by email or phone reply to confirm if they accept
or decline the nomination.

Voting for delegates shall be by single secret ballot. All eligible members present
at the Saturday, February 19, 2022 chapter meeting will receive a ballot from
Simply Voting on Saturday, March 5, 2022 to cast their vote. The voting window
on Saturday, March 5, 2022 is 9:00AM – 3:00PM. Sorors, if elected as a Boule
Delegate, you must attend Boule in person.
