Enter your search terms in the search box. As you type the search term A) autocomplete feature compete the term. B) You can also see alternative terms related to your search term. C) searches matching your terms appear below the search box. D) A set of publications, such as books and journals, related to . your search term appear under the heading publications. If you select and click on any of these options in these suggestions, you can go directly to the result list. A B C D


2 3. A set of commonly used limiters, namely online fully text, peer reviewed, and time range options, are given below the search box. You can select any of these filters or all of them before initiating the search. 4. In the result list, usually, the first result is a publication, namely a book or a journal. Instead of selecting an option from the suggestions, you can complete the search term and can either click the Magnifying Glass in the search box or enter key in your device’s keyboard to run your search.


3 5. You can access detailed information about a document by clicking on the document title or the View details link below each search result . To access physical books and journals, which are catalogued locally, a call number is given below the search result. Using this number, you can access these documents from the shelves.

If the document has got only a physical version, the access options drop down menu only provide access to the local catalogue record. 3. For books, which have both physical and electronic version, and ebooks which are catalogued locally, access drop down menu also includes online access option, which take you to the content provider platform. Note that only selected ebooks are included in the local catalogue. Access options- electronic documents 1. When Full Text of an electronic document is available, you can use the access options drop-down menu to read and download the document.

Though most documents are opened directly on the search platform itself, documents from a set of library databases/content providers are opened in those specific databases. Then, instead of online full text and PDF options, you can see ‘view record from specific content provider platform’ option. Then those specific documents follow the online reading and download options of the concerned content provider. For most results, A) you have two options in the access dropdown menu, namely online full text, and PDF. B) For some results, only PDF option is available.

For another set of documents, you may get the option of full text finder under the access options dropdown menu. In those cases, A) firstly, you need to click the full text finder option B) Secondly, click again the link on an intermediate page to access the document from the specific content provider.
