Joshua “Bud” Davis John Evans 2023 vestry nominations 8 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 I grew up in the Episcopal Church and St. Peter’s Church in Fernandina Beach, FL. My wife, Becca, and I have been members of All Saints since we moved to Orlando in 2018. Prior to moving to Orlando, we were members of All Saints Episcopal Church (Austin, TX) and All Angels Episcopal Church (New York City, NY). From these experiences, I’ve enjoyed seeing the many different ways the Episcopal Church can look across the US, and I’m so happy to call All Saints my home. Becca and I have been married since 2014 and have one son, Kane, who turned 1 in Early November. We enjoy family walks around our neighborhood, playing with our cat Liberty, reading, hiking, vegetable gardening, video games (not as much since Kane was born), and watching Gator sports. Our family loves living in Audubon Park and having so many great restaurants, parks, and breweries within walking distance. My career as a Professional Geologist involves numerical modeling and geophysics in support of environmental remediation efforts across the country. I love my work because it provides me an opportunity to leave God’s world in a better place than I found it. I enjoy working with people on challenging problems, setting realistic project goals, and contributing to long term solutions to major environmental problems. I am married to my best friend, Ann Evans. We live in Merritt Park, and our three children are Jack - 7, Elizabeth - 5, Mae - 3. We love them beyond comprehension, and we proudly call All Saints their church home. My roots run deep in Central Florida. I am the owner, president and founder of MoonBeam Land Company, Inc., a land brokerage and investment firm. I have 13 years of experience. I graduated from the business school at The University of Mississippi in 2008 with a Real Estate Finance degree. I believe that the world needs the gospel and grace of Jesus Christ now, more than ever. I believe that the principles, values and truth of the Holy Scripture, and I want to my part to help All Saints be a strong and vibrant church community for many years to come. This kind of work translates to changing communities and beyond. Throughout the years, Ann and I have been active participants in All Saints Healing Ministry, which is based at The Glennon House. God has called us to support Christian mental health counseling, and we started a fund that provides mental health counseling to those in need of resources they otherwise could not afford.

Bob Shinn Renee Thompson ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 9 My wife, Jane, and I moved to Winter Park in 1989 and joined All Saints Church shortly thereafter. We raised our three children at All Saints and our three grandchildren were baptized here in recent years. I have served in the past on Long Range Planning Commissions and more recently on the redevelopment team for the Glennon House. A southerner at heart, I grew up in Virginia and obtained my education in North Carolina – Duke for engineering and UNC at Chapel Hill for an MBA. Having retired in 2021, I can now play golf regularly, stay active at the gym, take long walks with Jane and spend time with my grandchildren who now all live in Florida. I am an avid Duke football and basketball fan and enjoy watching NFL games and PGA tournaments on TV. I had a 45+ year career in real estate investment and development consisting primarily of large-scale mixed-use, hospitality and resort projects. During the Disney Decade of the 1990s, I was the General Manager of Walt Disney Imagineering at WDW and managed the hotel and theme park projects, including the first two Disney cruise ships. For the past twenty years I have worked on projects around the country for hotel and investment groups which I have enjoyed, except for the many millions of Delta miles required. I have experience in creating success through teamwork working toward clear goals. I look forward to working with Father Stu and the Vestry on the issues facing our church today as well as continuing to work on the foundation for future generations. Church has always been a large part of my life. I grew up as a preacher’s kid, which cemented my love of the church. After I graduated with a B.S. in Theater Performance, I worked at a Presbyterian church where I was a youth minister and began a drama ministry with the church’s members and youth in the area. I met my husband Clint while we were graduate students at Ball State University, and it is here where we both fell in love with the Episcopal Church. After marrying in 1998, we moved several times and have been members at five other Episcopal churches. My family and I have been attending All Saints since we moved to Florida in 2011, and we became members that same year. Thank you to our 2022 outgoing Vestry members. We thank you for your sevice and greatly value the time and efforts you have made in your time on the All Saints Chruch Vestry. rector’s annual report 2022 ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark .org | 11 Proclaim the Gospel. Love One Another. Trust God. So many of us have mourned the deaths of husbands, wives, parents, siblings, family, and friends this year. I am deeply moved by your witness to our Lord’s Resurrection to one another and to my family. Thank you. Your message is clear. You have reached our hearts with the gift of your notes, letters, cards, flowers, and meals. Thank you for holding up the torch of our Lord’s Death and Resurrection for us as we grieve for my father and my brother. I returned to the office by the second week of January. It is a tremendous gift and a high and holy calling to serve as your rector. I beg your pardon that my report may not feel like last year’s or is as organized. Putting an annual report is the last thing one wants to do in the fog of grief. But before taking one more step in this new year, an annual meeting, and even a rector’s annual report, is our tribe’s way of saying how important it is to stop and reflect, mourn, remember the challenges we faced, and trust the promises of God we heard in 2022, to trust those even more than what we might have seen. My report follows in this order: robot, context, worship, signs of life, core commitments, and thanksgiving. RYTR.ME “It is with great pleasure that I present the Annual Report for All Saints Church, a growing parish with dedicated staff, lay leaders, and generous members. This report highlights our accomplishments over the past year and provides an outlook for our future. We have seen tremendous growth in both membership and financial support, allowing us to continue to serve our community in meaningful ways. Our mission of providing spiritual guidance and support to those in need is more important than ever before, and we are proud of the work we have done this year to make sure that everyone has access to what they need.” A robot wrote that. I asked an Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot to “Introduce an annual report by the rector of a growing parish.” AI technology is only a few months old, and this is AI’s first use — and likely its last — in an Annual Report for All Saints. I used it to start my annual report to highlight how swiftly technology presents an immediate example of the always-pressing experience of change in this complex world in which we live. CONTEXT: “THE CHANGES & CHANCES OF THIS LIFE” IN POST-PANDEMIC CENTRAL FLORIDA Last year the changes and chances of this life 1 were simultaneously devastating, perplexing, and full of promise. At the end of February, less than a month after our last annual parish meeting, we witnessed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It is the largest war on European soil since World War II, causing one of the most significant European refugee crises in history. As we started coming to terms with the human and social impact, the economic disruptions of this war overwhelmed energy markets and upended supply chains already stressed by the pandemic. Last year food prices, inflation, and interest rates climbed dramatically. Cryptocurrency, meta-verse, gaslighting, and goblin mode were words we often heard in 2022, whether we understood them or not. Scientists announced promising developments in nuclear fusion. NASA shared with us the spectacular baby pictures of the universe the James Webb Space Telescope was messaging them daily. Locally, when we think and talk about change, it seems mostly related to increasing economic disruption and opportunity, and more, especially changed lives as a result of all of the above. Moving is one of the most significant changes that can happen in someone’s life. We have seen more than 1,000 new residents arrive weekly in the metro region for the last 60 years. This is likely very familiar to many of you whose roots run deep in and around Orlando and Winter Park or whose livelihoods are rooted in the region’s ongoing construction and investment in development. People do not just visit Orlando for the parks and world-class attractions; they change their lives by putting down roots for many reasons, including starting a career or the desire to “find mercy and grow old together” with the love of their life (Tobit 8.7). According to the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research Population Studies Program, Orlando is projected to add more than 1,500 people to the region every week for the next 11 years, eventually reaching a population of 5.2 million people. This growth is true across all age demographics, but especially seniors. As the area’s growth continues and our population multiplies, from where and from whom do our new neighbors receive a genuine welcome, especially to hear the urgent message of how God’s grace meets us in the changes and chances of this life? From you, my beloved Parish! It can, and it will come from you. I believe it. Now, stop with me, and consider why someone needs a church home. Why might I encourage you to invite someone to visit your church home? Well, for starters, people desperately need someone to listen to them. This is an urgent need everyone has. There are some people who can attentively listen to your neighbors at All Saints. You have someone to prayerfully listen to you at All Saints. That’s why. Taylor Caldwell in her 1961 novel The Man Who 1One of the collects at Compline, The Book of Common Prayer, p. 133

Listens describes the transformation in human personalities that occurs in the presence of an attentive listener. Her characters in a wide variety of human difficulties each speak to a man behind a curtain and talk themselves round to the point where they rail against the universe. When at this point the curtain is drawn aside, they see the Creator of the Universe not complacently indifferent, but as crucified on the cross, that is, as we have known him at All Saints. This shared conviction is expressed in her foreword to the novel: Man’s real need, his most terrible need, is for someone to listen to him, not as a ‘patient’ but as a human soul. He needs to tell some one of what he thinks, of the bewilderment he counters when he tries to discover why he was word, how he must live, and where his destiny lives…Our pastors would listen to us — if we gave them the time to listen to us. But we have burdened them with tasks which should be our own. We have demanded not only that they be our shepherd, but that they take our trivialities, our social aspirations, the ‘fun’ of our children upon their weary backs. We have demanded that they be expert businessmen, politicians, accountants, playmates, community directors, ‘good fellows’, judges, lawyers and settlers of local quarrels. We have given them little time for listening, and we do not listen to them either. Let us remember there is someone who listens. He is available to all of us, all of the time, all our lives. The Man Who Listens. You and the people you see joining All Saints or relishing their roots again in the Parish need someone to listen to them; and you have it in your clergy. In 2022, you clergy spent at least sixty-five percent of each week in pastoral care, usually “just listening.” Praise God for Jared, Lo, and Liz, who have joined me to “care alike for young and old, strong and weak, rich and poor” and by our words and in our life “proclaim the Gospel. Love and serve Christ’s people. Nourish them, and strengthen them to glorify God in this life and the life to come.” We also need preachers who make the plain the promises of God, preachers who deliver the good news of Jesus Christ. Four of the greatest preachers in our time assist me. I am speaking of Jared, Lo, Liz, and Eric’s ministry in 2022. I am deeply grateful. Our guest preachers in 2022 expressed this conviction as well, including the Rev. Dr. Winn Collier, the Rev. Dr. Paul F.M. Zahl, and the Rev. Aloysius Hill of Flowers Temple Church of God in Christ. Let’s look again at our context. The economy of the Orlando region stabilized after the pandemic and is performing beyond expectations in many sectors. Unincorporated Orange County projects almost 2,000 building permits this fiscal year. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Rollins College, Winter Park’s economy is more than $4 billion annually, with top industries being financial services, professional services, healthcare, education, and retail. At the same time, the news cycle keeps alerting us to the looming specter of recession. Looking at Winter Park’s Prosperity Scorecard presented by Rollins College on the Chamber of Commerce’s site is certainly a way to explore our city’s successes and areas that need attention and focus, even as we discern our part in adding to the common good. However, our discernment for mission and ministry — that is, how we demonstrate the reconciling love of God in Christ Jesus in word and deed — is hands-on and relationally grounded. This year, our partnership with Family Promise went deeper. It has given us more insight into the challenges facing families experiencing homelessness. Thanks be to God for local mission partners like Family Promise, Jobs Partnership, and the Christian Service Center. Thanks be to God for Pat Robertson, Ginger Van Valkenburgh, Kristin and Scott Millson, Audra Croup, Bob Bowles, Rick Ahl, and so many others for their leadership in declaring our Lord’s great affection to the city. An accounting of our parish outreach and mission funding is included in this Annual Parish Report. THE DIVINE LITURGY AT ALL SAINTS: SUNDAY AND WEEKDAY WORSHIP All Saints has seen lots of change as well. You may have felt some of that change this year, especially as we returned to a weekly worship schedule that looked more like 2019 than 2021. We even added a parallel 9 o’clock worship service in the Thomas Center, which is supported by a fabulous band — Eva Weingarten, Paul Terry, and David Vanegas. Although some say it is “for the kids,” people of several different age groups love it and are inviting their friends and neighbors. By the end of the summer, the schedule for the divine service on Sundays in 2022 was 7:30am in the church, 9am in the church and 9am in the Thomas Center, 11:15am in the church, and 5:30pm in the church. The divine service continues throughout the week on Tuesdays at 6pm, Wednesdays at 12:05pm, and Thursday mornings at 7:00am. The ripple effect of the pandemic on our weekly schedule for in-person worship and Christian formation continued in 2022. You can see on the next page what our Average Sunday Attendance (ASA) has looked like over the last decade. Even at All Saints in Winter Park, we see an expression of the trends observed by Pew Research and Barna (https://pewrsr.ch/3kMvm0l and https:// pewrsr.ch/3HcmiJC and http://bit.ly/3kMg37v). All Saints reflects what’s going on across the country, in the Orlando metro region, and especially in one household, one heart after the next. But our ASA for 2022 delivers good news, which is that 2022 was not at all like it was in 2021. God’s people showed up, with our kids and grandchildren and godchildren in tow, for Christian Formation hour and Holy Communion, not necessarily in that order. On Easter and Christmas Eve in 2022, All Saints was full again — and overflowing. In small groups, forums, and Bible Studies, we gathered to discover how Christianity makes sense these days, personally, in practice, emotionally, biblically, and theologically. The recent Orlando Mockingbird Conference, which we hosted January 20-21, 2023, highlighted our appeal to the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life. What we see in these numbers is that many of us who understandably got out of the habit of sabbath-keeping in 2020 and 2021 have indeed returned; thanks be to God. Just how often we show up at All Saints — a few times a month, once a month, or three times a year — varies, but so many of us are back, praise the Lord. And yet, some of us have not returned, and they are 12 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022

ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 13 sorely missed. We all keep telling them they are missed, not least because we get it. It is safe to say that by now, all the various ways the whole lot of us have lived as functional atheists — whether that’s by avoiding worship on the Lord’s Day to “render thanks for the great benefits we have received, to set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his holy Word, and to ask, for ourselves and on behalf of others, those things that are necessary for our life and our salvation” or by using a Magic 8 Ball to make a decision in our lives or by trusting more in charts rather than God’s Promise — have been disclosed (BCP, p. 41). As God’s trustworthy, wholesome promise is declared, all people are most welcome to that most open and accepting baptismal font where we are “cleansed from sin and born again” (BCP, p. 307). All baptized Christians are welcomed to our Lord’s Table. Called by the Holy Spirit, we bring our blistered and stony hearts, and we find that the Lord Jesus is the best specialist in the cosmos when it comes to cardiac attention. Today, we remember that we have been given the necessary, potent meds for “these last days” and the days ahead in 2023. The effective pharmaceuticals for what ails, for what hurts are Holy Communion, Bible Study, prayer, meditation, likely your favorite hymns or song of praise, the rite of reconciliation and other sacramental rites, and even small talk with people from different generations or social circles on Sunday Mornings. MARKERS OF VITALITY • We added 65 new members in 2022. • In-person Average Sunday Attendance (ASA) was 313. Our current ASA means we are in the top 1% of parishes in the Episcopal Church. (That’s alarming, dear Liza!) • With online attendance included, our 2022 ASA was 337. • Our total number of members on role is 1,383, and our total number of communicants in good standing is 1,270. • We saw significant Easter and Christmas Eve attendance. • We baptized 30 brothers and sisters into Christ. • We witnessed 12 confirmations, Bishop Brewer presiding. • We anticipate 14 middle school student confirmations later this year. • We celebrated and blessed eight marriages. • We have sponsored two candidates for ordained ministry, the Rev. Dr. Winn Collier and Ms. Zoe Selbin. Winn was ordained to the diaconate on September 10, 2022. His ordination to the priesthood is Saturday, April 15, 2023. • We are supporting two other parishioners in their discernment process. • The average estimate of giving is $7,679, the median pledge is $4,000. • In 2022, 232 parishioners estimated their giving. That number had been declining since 2019 and 2020. • We held several successful local outreach developments, including POP on February 26 and caring for and even hosting Family Promise families in November. • We hosted several successful concerts. See the Music Ministry Report on page 22. • It was a big year for our Youth Ministry. On any given Sunday night, there may be forty to sixty students having a great time and connecting with God and each other. • It was an important year for our Children’s Ministry as Meagan Godly Play and deve • Property refurbishments and renovations, including the Playground, All School air conditioning units, Family Ministry Center, and Youth Ministry hub have been completed or are in process. SIGNS OF LIFE New faces are a sign of life. We welcomed Meagan and Stephen Feibelman to lead our Family Ministry as our Children’s Minister and Youth Minister. We welcomed Ammon Bratt as our Associate Organist. We welcomed the Rev. Laura “Lo” Cook. Rev. Lo was ordained to the priesthood on October 6 after a brief delay caused by Hurricane Ian. What a warm welcome she has received in the life of our Parish. We are committed to raising up leaders for All Saints and the greater church. It was an honor to serve you alongside Fr. Jared, Rev. Lo, and Deacon Liz, as well as our big brothers in ministry, the Rev. Dr. Dick Greatwood and Fr. Eric Ravndal in 2022. Collaboration and delegation are expressions of the gifts of administration that God has equipped me with. And there’s Beth Davis, even more proof that this is God’s Church and that God’s Church has a mission. As trust grows, new ministry and longtime staff and lay leaders are reaching out. We have staffed for growth. We seek to maximize our resources to provide the staff and program infrastructure for All Saints Mission and Ministry. Although we have a more austere approach in the year ahead, we are no less confident in the mission of Christ’s Gospel we have received. Sensitive invited guests and friends and family members, we are eager to help them connect. Pew Research Center confirm that 86% of people say they would come to church if asked, and the average Episcopalian invites someone to church once every 37 years. 2023 is your year to extend an invitation. Why invite someone to All Saints? That is a good question that’s already been raised. Ask your neighbor why they made All Saints their church home after this meeting adjourns. What other reasons are stirring you today? CORE COMMITMENTS There is so much that is important to us. As a good rector, I’d be amiss if I said everything is a priority. The measure of our parish’s renewal and unwavering response to Christ’s Gospel is observable in four ways:

• Worship in the Great Tradition of the Church • Growing Disciples of Jesus Christ • Serving the Poor • Raising up Christian Leaders for the Renewal of the Church This is how our “obedience of faith” can be expressed again in 2023 (Romans 1.5; 16.26). Our approach on Sundays is one of high regard for the preached word, of classic hymnody and music, and of focusing weekly on the themes of grace as they are found in Scripture. Even our band-driven worship services are just as open to life-changing verticality. Our traditions translate into life-giving ministry for the people in the pews. And we refuse to engage in pulpit politics. Join me and Crissy and the households of our vestry and leaders at All Saints Church as we fully fund the mission God has given us to proclaim the Gospel, love one another, and trust him. THANKSGIVING “I am grateful for the support we have received in the past year that has enabled us to continue our growth and service to this community. We have been able to further our gospel ministry and are committed to continuing this mission into the future.” Yes, the robot wrote that too. While it’s true and could pass as a conclusion to this year’s report, it does not express the great affection I have for Lisa Clayton, John Junod, Miles McDonnell, our Junior Warden for 2021 and 2022, and Ginger Van Valkenburgh. Their service on All Saints Vestry is consistent with their leadership in the Parish. They love the Lord Jesus, and they love you and this city. I want to thank Kay and Orman Kimbrough for their leadership in the ministry of All Saints Student Coffee Shoppe. What Eric and Charli Jane Braun helped launch, Kay and Orman have continued to see take root in our life together as an expression of the hospitality that people can discover among God’s people in God’s kingdom outposts like All Saints. With Marah Oropeza, you help us prove our Lord’s great affections to Rollins College and so many more college and graduate students in the city. Thanks be to God for y’all. I want to thank Herb and Sherrie Hill for your loving service to families and the congregations that gather to bury the saints. As members of St. Joseph’s Guild, your ministry helps your Parish ministers commend these holy and precious ones to Almighty God, our heavenly Father. You provided an appropriate welcome and necessary direction to All Saints families and hundreds more just this year alone. You have also served at the 7:30am for years as lectors, chalice ministers, and subdeacons too. In so many ways, you hold up the torch of our Lord’s Resurrection for all of us. Thanks be to God for you y’all. I want to thank Julia Stewart for her leadership as a Vestry Member and Commission Member of All Saints School. Julia’s hard work on behalf of the playground refurbishment was significant, especially when she applied her marketing skills to help us communicate more effectively with donors, parents, and the wider community. Thanks be to God for you, Julia. I want to thank Carol Kropp for her leadership in All Saints Gift Shoppe. There is a reason it is most folk’s favorite place to shop in downtown Park Avenue. Carol and her team have not only curated the best products, but they have also provided the warmest welcome at sweetest threshold of the life of our Parish. Thanks be to God for you and your ministry team, Carol. I know you have been to the Gift Shoppe, but have you been lately? Hurry. They close on January 30 temporarily for a long overdue and well-planned remodel. I am grateful for Fr. Eric Ravndall. Fr. Eric was the first minister to welcome me home to All Saints. He stopped by the house and caught me early in the morning after presiding at the Thursday morning mass. I believe that was our family’s third day to wake up in Winter Park. His kindness and friendship have reflected the love of the Good Shepherd, who said, “Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you.” Even keel, he has been my abbot ever since we met. Now, thank you, my All Saints family and friends. I will hold onto and probably carry around your cards, notes, and letters in my Bible, Prayer Book, and other books and planner for quite a while. Thank you for the meals and soulful nourishment this month. As I said, you reached our hearts in our bereavement. You have reached my heart and assured me of the promises of God. You have reached this preacher. It’s not that I don’t trust what I have proclaimed to you, I am just deeply moved by the way you witnessed to me. It’s one more reason why I invite someone to put their roots down with us here. Thank you. We love you so. - The Rev. F. Stuart Shelby, Rector 14 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022

18 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 DEAR FELLOW PARISHIONERS: It has been an honor to serve as All Saints’s Senior Warden for the past year. I have been blessed to work with Fr. Stu and the amazing clergy (Fr. Jared, Rev. Lo, Deacon Liz, and Fr. Eric), as well as an equally amazing Vestry and Finance Commission and the best church staff ever (Beth, Liz, Stephen and Meagan, and others). They have truly made my job easier. All Saints made tremendous strides in 2022, the first full post-pandemic year. The Holy Spirit is evident as All Saints continues to overcome the disruption caused by Covid. Some notable achievements in 2022: • Return to a stable worship schedule that encourages a return to in-person attendance at services. As Episcopalians, we lead with liturgical worship. • Additions to clergy and lay ministry staff for growth and stability, including Rev. Lo’s ordination. • Continued emphasis on, and growth in, pastoral care. • Inclusion of all generations in parish life. • A vibrant newcomers ministry that has attracted new parishioners. • The continued strength of All Saints School. • The complete renovation of the School’s playground. • Hosting the first Mockingbird Ministries conference in Central Florida. Challenges remain, but our clergy, Vestry and staff are confident that the Holy Spirit will guide and support All Saints as it moves into 2023. Some of our goals for 2023 and beyond: • Continued relevance to churchgoers of the 2020s while remaining true to the Gospel and the liturgical traditions of the Episcopal Church. • Long-range planning to continue and to create relationships and friendships that encompass generations. • Long-range planning to preserve and improve our facilities for the present and future generations. • Continue to invite, welcome, and connect with newcomers. I thank Fr. Stu for the opportunity to serve as Senior Warden. Let us all go forth in peace to serve the Lord. -Skip Jewett • senior warden report 2022 Skip Jewett

ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 19 DEAR FELLOW PARISHIONERS: This completes my second year serving as your Junior Warden coordinating the Buildings and Grounds Commission, under the direction of Beth Davis, Parish Administrator. This is a commission budgeted annually, but highly unpredictable with unexpected repairs requiring immediate attention. The following projects we have completed, or are in the process of completing within the calendar year: • The drainage issue on the playground in the Cotten Education Center was completed and withstood the two hurricanes we experienced this past summer. Our School and Children’s Ministry are enjoying the new playground. We are grateful to all the parents, parishioners, School PTO, Finance Committee, Endowment Committee and Galloway Foundation who funded this project. • The repair, resurfacing, and restriping of the West drive entrance from Interlachen Avenue was completed. The camphor tree roots were removed and will no longer cause our parishioners and visitors possible injury due to tripping or falling. • We also have replaced all but one of the Fan Coil Units in the Cotten Education Center. The last FCU to be installed will be completed over Spring Break. • Rooms 109 & 110 have been refurbished with new floors, new paint and a few other enhancements. These rooms will be used for Children’s Ministry. Again, I would like to thank everyone for the privilege to serve as your Junior Warden for these past two years. With my heartfelt blessings, -Miles McDonnell • junior warden report 2022 Miles McDonnell

All Saints Kids is a wonderful time for connection, community, and learning a little more about Jesus each week. We have had so many new families get involved this year which is so exciting! Our goal is to come alongside and partner with parents in the formation of their children because it matters. And these children matter too. We all stand and recite our portion of the baptismal vow that we will come alongside parents and children, and that’s what we aim to do. We create a fun and inviting atmosphere that reaches various ages and personalities. Each semester the room changes a little to keep the kids engaged. For Summer Saints, we had a summer theme complete with a real live beach! The kids could make a sand castle or simply read a book with their toes in the sand. It was so much fun! It was also a glorious day when the playground was complete! SPRING 2022: Several wonderful events took place at All Saints. Ash Wednesday Stations of the Cross took place around campus with many children and youth participating. Easter Sunday Egg Hunt was such a fun and exciting time! FALL 2022: We kicked off All Saints Kids again and our new curriculum for Formation Hour. The room theme was the Days of Creation. Each week, we read the collect and Gospel lesson, a Jesus Storybook Bible lesson, and complete a fun craft. We have created everything from a grasshopper to a prayer book. During Formation Hour, we introduced Godly Play and StoryMakers NYC. The Advent Wreath Workshop and Christmas Eve Pageant were a tremendous success and well attended! We had many families and kiddos make a wreath. It was heart warming to see community forming between new and old families in such organic fashion. The Christmas Eve Pageant was a pop-up style this year, and the kids did a wonderful job. They were adorable! It was so sweet to see the church bursting with families. We even had overflow due to the turnout. Many more fun events took place over the course of last year including a Back to School Backpack Blessing, Costume Blessing, Playground Opening and Blessing, and many baptisms. What an exciting year it has been! Thank you to everyone who helped make this year so successful. We couldn’t have done it without you. In 2023, we will be hosting VBS again. How exciting! This is such a fun and inviting event for our parish and community. We are looking forward to this happening in 2023. Please get in touch with Meagan Feibelman at [email protected] if you have any questions or are looking for some more information on what’s ahead for 2023. We are so glad you are here! • children & family ministry 2022 20 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 Learning a little more about Jesus.

youth ministry 2022 ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 21 Growing in faith. Walking in love. Our students are desperate to hear the truth. To discern it, wrestle with it and understand how it intersects with their daily life. They live in a world that provides greater access to information than any previous generation. Our students are overwhelmed by sources of input resulting from technological advances and the rise of social media over the last decade. Much of what students hear about the world and themselves stems directly from these various outlets – often at a subconscious level. This is the frightening by-product of the age in which we live. So, what do we do about it? Is there any hope that our students will find their way? The answer is yes. God continues to find ways to reach the hearts and minds of young people. Here’s the exciting part of all this. Despite the ease in which students navigate the technological landscape, and their ability to find answers fast, they continue to ask questions. They continue to show up on Sunday nights with open hearts and minds. This matters. It matters not only for the sake of this ministry but for the lifelong faith God desires to instill in them even now. Even as a middle and high school student. Our goal with Youth Ministry here at All Saints is to create an environment where students are able to wrestle with big questions about life and faith without fear of judgement. The pastoral work of our small group leaders helps broaden the reach of the ministry and ensure more students make connections with adults who care about them on a personal level. Research shows these relationships matter and despite the overwhelming demands this world places on the attention of our students, our hope and prayer is that All Saints will continue to be a voice crying out in the wilderness. A place that points our students to the eternal hope found in Jesus Christ. A BRIEF REVIEW OF 2022 June 2022: Seven of our students joined us for a weeklong Summer Camp in Panama City Beach known as BigStuf. Our small group of students bonded over the course of the week and we saw them engage with their faith in profound ways. July 2022: Around forty students served throughout the City of Orlando as a part of our annual Summer Service Week. Students helped run a mini-vacation bible school at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, sort soap at Clean the World, organize donations at the Christian service center and more. October 2022: Nineteen of our students travelled to Camp Wingmann in Avon Park, FL for our first annual fall retreat. We spent the weekend talking about why scripture matters even now. Students enjoyed kayaking, playing cards, and just being together. What an awesome weekend it was! December 2022: Our annual Youth Christmas Party featured great food and a gingerbread house decorating contest. The high school guys group shocked everyone with an upset victory. The prize: a trip to Burger-Fi for milkshakes. September 2022 – May 2023: All Saints has been running Youth Alpha on Sunday mornings since September. Alpha is being used as the foundation for confirmation here at All Saints this year and we have seen students engaging with their faith in profound ways on Sunday mornings throughout the Fall and Winter. 22 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 music ministry 2022 Sing to the Lord a new song - Psalm 96:1 After two long years, 2022 witnessed the triumphant reopening of our music ministry post-Covid. The lifting of pandemic restrictions enabled the birth of three new choirs at All Saints, the second season of the St. Cecilia Summer Concert Series, and the much-anticipated return of the St. Gregory Choir to our liturgies. The St. Gregory Choir, sings the 9am and 11:15am services on Sundays in the church. We consist of 28 auditioned voices. We gather on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm to prepare the music for our Sunday liturgies, Evensongs (like the one we celebrated with Dr. David Henning from St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Houston, TX last February!), concerts, and other special liturgical events. On November 1, 2022, the St. Gregory Choir presented Felix Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem accompanied by orchestra to commemorate All Saints Day. This was the first time in the history of our choir that we presented a major choral/orchestral work in its entirety. We had great fun preparing and performing this concert for a large and enthusiastic audience! We celebrated the Advent season with our popular annual service of Lessons & Carols, which featured challenging new music that we enjoyed learning, such as Howard Goodall’s touching Love Divine and Jonathan Dove’s awesome Seek him that maketh the seven stars. We are inspired by the launching of the All Saints Choristers program, which opened in September. We praise God for calling 13 young singers to participate in this ministry. The Choristers sang at the 9am service twice during the fall and offered musical selections for the 4pm pageant service on Christmas Eve. Ms. Marah Oropeza and Mr. Ammon Bratt collaborate to lead interactive rehearsals on Wednesdays from 5-5:45pm in the Kingsley Auditorium. We work up an appetite playing games and learning music so we always end rehearsals with a delicious snack. Please join us at the 9am service in the Church on February 12, March 5, April 2, and May 14 to hear the fruit of this commitment from our young and enthusiastic music ministers! We are thrilled by the success of the Credo Choir, our new adult choir that sings for the 12:05pm Eucharist each Wednesday. We are a collection of varying abilities and skill levels ranging from seasoned veterans to first time choral singers. We enjoy a brief rehearsal that begins at 11:30am each Wednesday where our director, Marah Oropeza, reviews the music for the service and teaches the fundamentals of healthy ensemble singing. We are always welcoming to new singers. Please consider joining us for music, worship, and fellowship on Wednesdays at 11:30am if you are hearing God’s song in your heart! The Parish Choir, under the direction of Ammon Bratt, offers music weekly for our 7:30am Rite I service on Sundays. We usually have 5 singers who meet bright and early at 7am to rehearse the music for the day. Please consider joining this fun and low commitment ensemble if you enjoy Rite I, are an early riser, and love to sing! During the summer we produced the St. Cecilia Summer Concert Series. This year we presented four unique concerts: Lyman Brodie, trumpet, accompanied by Dr. Michael Ging, organ; an all-Bach organ concert played by Dr. Ging; “A Night at the Opera” presented by our talented staff singers; and a piano concert played by Ammon Bratt. All four concerts drew great crowds who enjoyed the music and post-performance fellowship at our fun receptions in the Mary Martha Parlor. We are blessed to have a collection of keyboard instruments and we continue to discern how best to curate the instruments entrusted to our care. Areas of immediate attention include addressing the numerous significant mechanical problems with our church pipe organ. Three organ companies have submitted proposals on pathways forward for our organ. Our gorgeous Steinway Model O piano housed in the Kingsley Auditorium is also in need of a complete restoration. The cost of this piano project is around $50,000. Thanks to the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, we have raised 50% of the needed funds to execute this restoration that upon completion will ensure that our choirs have a rehearsal piano for the next 100 years. We give thanks to God and to you, our Parish, for your stewardship and confidence in our music ministry. We look forward to declaring the good news of God’s salvation with a new song this year! •

24 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 PASTORAL CARE Pastoral care is an extension of our worship at All Saints. It is our “traveling pulpit,” so to speak. Our passion is to proclaim the Gospel in every place we find ourselves, whether it be from the pulpit on Sunday, a hospital room, blessing a newborn baby in your home, or even standing around your deathbed with your family. In “sundry times and diverse manners,” we are proclaiming one central message: Christ has died for our sins and risen for our justification. Thanks be to God! There are quite a few “avenues” by which these preachers get to you. Our Lay Eucharistic Visitors continue to be a strong presence in hospitals, retirement communities, and in homes throughout the area. These lay volunteers are an extension of the meal we share in worship together as they take the elements of Holy Communion from our worship out into the church distributed in the world. For some of our dear brothers and sisters, our Lay Eucharistic Visitors are the main connection they still have with All Saints. Its a vital ministry and we need more people willing to be a part of God’s everwidening embrace here in Winter Park. Cares Away Cookies provided 44 boxes of cookies to All Saints members who are away at college. It is a tangible expression of our love and care for our own baptized students even if they aren’t with us in person right now. Our St. Joseph’s Guild and St. Francis Reception Guild have performed the vital task of overseeing burials at All Saints. Every time we have a burial service, these faithful volunteers help with the task of ushering the service and welcoming mourners to a reception after the burial service. I have had many grieving family members express their deep appreciation and gratitude for the service All Saints provides during this difficult time in their lives. All of these and more are ways in which we see the Spirit taking the message we proclaim at All Saints on Sunday morning “on the go” out into the world to touch the very points in our lives where we need it the most. Glory be to God! • pastoral care 2022 Love One Another

ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 25 Christian Formation this year has seen a refresh in all ages with new offerings from birth through adults. The significance of Christian Formation is seen in how we grow with God, and we have worked to offer ways for this to grow at every age and stage here at All Saints. Our youngest Small Saints have continued to have the loving care of our nursery staff under Nursery Director Linda Rizzo. We launched Godly Play for our 3–5 year-olds in September, allowing some of our youngest students to learn the bible through storytelling, and tangible hands-on play. This has opened the world of Scripture in a new way, bringing the Bible to life and allowing our children to interact with it. We relaunched Storymakers NYC with our 1st- 5th Graders focusing on the story of Creation. All Saints Kids has consistently grown throughout the year and is continuing to be a welcoming place for our kids, led by Meagan Feibelman. Our Youth Group is thriving and has continued to consistently grow on Sunday nights as we study the book of John. Our youth have been involved in helping with a variety of events within our church community as well as participating in youth group as part of their own spiritual formation. Led by Stephen Feibelman a strong group of volunteers have joined our ministry to lead small groups within youth group, allowing our students the opportunity to dig deeper into their faith and build community with other students and leaders. Adult Christian Formation at All Saints has continued in a variety of Bible Studies hosted weekly, as well as classes hosted by our clergy. Sunday Mornings in the Rector’s Forum, and in the Glennon House with Fr. Jared continue to draw our community deeper into their faith. We have Men’s and Women’s bible studies throughout the week that have focused on a variety of books and topics, connecting both faith with real life experience. We also had the opportunity to host an Alpha Course in the Fall. Regularly attended with 35-40 weekly we gathered and got to know one another over a meal and then had the opportunity to explore questions of faith led by Nikey Gumbel. Christian Formation has seen exemplary growth this year and we are excited to continue to grow and launch small groups in 2023! • christian formation So that Christ may dwell in your hearts 2022 CENTERING PRAYER | MONDAY 7:30am | All Saints Chapel Please join us for a “Praying Pause”. 26 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 mission & outreach 2022 All Saints Outreach Commission Report “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” - John 15:12 The generous giving of All Saints parishioners in 2022 has enabled the Outreach Commission to continue loving and supporting many people in our local, national, and international communities. Thank you to those of you who give your time, talent, and treasure! We could not do it without you! Locally, in February we hosted the first Power of Partnership (POP) service day along with First Congregational Church of Winter Park, Flowers Temple, and St. Richard’s Episcopal Church. Under the dedicated leadership of Kristin Millson, we served together at the Coalition for the Homeless, Orlando Day Nursery and The Sharing Center. It was truly a joy and a blessing to serve our local community alongside our fellow Winter Park churches. We hope to make this an annual tradition. Our next POP service day will be held on February 25, 2023, so please come out and join us! We have increased our financial support of Samaritan Village – Orlando, thereby helping even more adult survivors of sex trafficking. We continued our monthly hands-on service opportunities through First Sundays (bringing diapers, canned goods and non-perishable items to church), Second Saturdays (pack and deliver items to local families 8:30 – 10:30am), and have added First Thursdays, where we join the Straight Street organization at the Christian Service Center downtown at 5pm to serve meals, build relationships, and give hope to our neighbors. In October, over 50 All Saints volunteers, led by Ginger Van Valkenburg and Pat Robertson, hosted two Family Promise families in the Glennon House. They fed, loved, played, and prayed with the families who each spent a week with us. Our next Family Promise hosting is scheduled for the week of March 19, 2023. During Advent this year, parishioners stepped up to sponsor 27 local families for Christmas. We also continued to partner with St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church to host the Thanksgiving food and Christmas Toy stores. These were all tangible ways that All Saints parishioners have been the hands and feet of Jesus in our local community in 2022! Nationally and internationally, we continue to support the El Hogar Community and School in Honduras, as well as YWAM and Mockingbird. In closing, I would like to thank the members of the Outreach Commission for their dedication to this ministry: Andrea Bateman, Bob Bowles, Louise Buhrmann, David Jordan, Geoffrey Lynch, Kristin Millson, and Lee and Judy Van Valkenburgh. Lee and Judy Van Valkenburgh will be retiring from our commission this year, and they deserve a special thank you from all of us for the time, love, and dedication they have given to this ministry for many years. Reverend Lo Cook will be joining our commission this year, and we are so excited to have her! May God continue to bless our commission and our church family as we strive to love others as He has loved us! In Christ, Audra Croup Chair, Outreach Commission •

daughters of the king 2022 ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 29 Prayer, Service, and Evangelism The St. Clare Chapter of the Daughters of the King (DOK) was established in 1951. The DOK is a national organization of women in the Episcopal Church who commit to prayer, service, and evangelism. The order’s purpose is to bring others into a living, loving relationship with Jesus our Lord and Savior and to help strengthen the spiritual life of our church. The St. Clare chapter at All Saints meets monthly in the chapel for a service and communion followed by a meeting and study. The chapter members maintain a prayer list for special concerns, healing, personal loss, military service, travel, and thanksgivings. This list is kept confidential and prayed for daily. In March, 2022 we welcomed 4 new members to our chapter, after a period of discernment and study. As of January 2023, 4 women are in the process of preparation for membership. This past year several members attended the Spring and Fall Diocesan Assemblies, one at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange and the other at the Canterbury Conference Center in Oviedo. As part of our commitment to service, many women joyfully participated in Family Promise in the fall of 2022. We are committed to serving this important outreach at All Saints looking forward to the next Family Promise here. In our outgoing commitment to prayer, DOK members along with Fr. Stu developed a liturgy and plan for conducting prayer vigils for local and national times of crisis, especially those involving mass casualties. We would like these vigils to occur in a timely manner. We continue to pray there will be no need for them. Each year, the DOK sponsors a Lenten Quiet Day. We are looking forward to hosting this annual morning of meditation and prayer again this Lenten season on Wednesday March 29, 2023 beginning at 9am. Quiet day ends at noon, following a service of communion. This year we are excited to announce that the National DOK chaplain, Bishop Gregory Brewer, will facilitate our Quiet Day. All members of All Saints and the community are invited to attend. We are always welcoming new members to this group of prayer warriors. If you are interested and feel called to this ministry, please contact the church or any member. If you have a prayer request, we are here to pray for you. This year, we were gifted with three ‘Thad Seymour Silver Dollars’, an ongoing Rollins tradition that honors the legacy of encouraging random acts of kindness on Rollins’ campus. One of those dollars hangs in the Student Coffee Shoppe, with the story of their significance attached below. We are humbled to be recognized in this way and honored to continue sharing our time and talents with the next generation of truly kind people. Come visit the Coffee Shoppe to see the silver dollar and story of Thaddeus Seymour’s random acts of kindness- a story we hope will continue to grow and inspire us all to be kind to our neighbors. STUDENT COFFEE SHOPPE REOPENS In 2022, we relaunched the All Saints Student Coffee Shoppe, with a fresh look and a return to our pre-COVID service and hospitality. Over the spring 2021 and fall 2022 semesters, we have welcomed over 600 students into All Saints for a cup of coffee and word of encouragement. Our student coffee shoppe is an amazing safe space for students, and in the past year, we have provided many hours for conversations, student advising sessions, project planning, meet and greets, student Bible studies, and lots of studying! We are so grateful for our amazing partnerships with our friends across the street, especially for Rollins Womens Lacrosse Team, Cru at Rollins, and Rev. Katrina and Sandy at Rollins Religious and Spiritual Life Office. A FEW HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2022: In our on-campus initiatives of 2022, we connected with 426 students, staff and faculty. At Coffee on the Corner, we welcomed 2,360 students and faculty over the course of 21 weeks. Over 500 hours were given by our dedicated Coffee Shoppe Volunteers. All of these figures emphasize the heart of Jesus that our amazing volunteers show each week to our students. Always welcoming of everyone who enters in, our volunteers give of themselves to our students each and every week: Charli Jane Braun, Kay and Orman Kimbrough, George Walrond, John and Donnie Maynard, Allen and Julie Player, Maile McQuaid, Adeline Davis, Trey Tayloe, Olivia Maxwell, Dianne Bauer, Jada Ho, Ginger Van Valkenburgh, and, of course, our pups Parker, Duke, and Nell, have far-reaching impacts on our college neighbors. If you would like to volunteer with us and help support our neighbors across the street, we have upcoming orientations, so contact Marah Oropeza for ways to get involved with a rewarding and meaningful ministry. • 2022 yo u n g a d u l t & college ministries 30 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 Fully integrated into the Parish

ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 31 We have had another fantastic year at All Saints School! We served 123 families and 146 children during the 2021-22 school year and are currently serving 127 families and 150 children in the 2022-23 school year. We continue to create and maintain a Christ-centered environment, using our faith to communicate God’s love to our little saints, their parents and families, and to our fellow teachers and staff. It is our joy and privilege to serve God by serving others here! The highlight of 2022 was hands down our Playground Grand Opening and Blessing! On December 4, 2022, we gathered as a school and church family to pray over our brand new playground and enjoy a morning of festivities including a petting zoo, face painter, and balloon artist! We are so grateful to all of the parishioners and school families, current and alumni, that joined to celebrate this momentous occasion after three years of fundraising. The center of our campus is once again filled with a joyful noise! “Play is the work of the child.” – Maria Montessori We will be forever grateful for the hard work and generosity that made the playground a reality. The children can now bring it to life. - Emory Messeroff • all saints school 2022 From the Director

32 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 newcomers ministry 2022 Invite. Welcome. Connect. This past year, I had the privilege of working with the Newcomers Ministry along with Liz Stewart, Barbie Boyd, and Sarah Butterfield. The Newcomers Ministry’s mission is to connect with and warmly welcome all new members and visitors to All Saints. All Saints welcomed 65 new members and baptized 30 individuals. We continue to make connections with All Saints’ new members and visitors through handwritten notes and cards, e-mails, phone calls, and gatherings. In particular, “All Saints 101” was held in January, March, May, June, July, August, and October. All Saints 101 is a series of gatherings on Sundays after the 9am service. The purpose of All Saints 101 is to inform new members and visitors about our wonderful church community and discover tools for navigating life as a Christian. All Saints 101 is a great opportunity to get to know Fr. Stu and other church leaders, as well as connect and socialize with each other. All Saints 101 is for visitors, new members, and any existing members seeking opportunities or information to get more involved at All Saints. -John Junod The Newcomers Ministry is vitally important in continuing All Saints mission to serve our community and ministries God has entrusted to us. If you or anyone you know has any questions about membership at All Saints, or want more information about All Saints 101, please direct them to contact Liz Stewart directly at 407-599-4304. •

ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 33 healing ministry 2022 Walk into the Presence of God “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases” -Psalm 103:2-3 Our Healing Service returned from a monthly to weekly schedule during the fall of 2022. We meet every Tuesday night in the church for worship, a sermon, and a powerful time of prayer. Each and every week, we have witnessed the Spirit work powerfully in the lives of those who stumble through our doors. Some come weekly, and some stumble in and back out into the world, but everyone who walks through those doors on Tuesday night walks into the presence of God and into a room where they are welcomed and loved. Each week is themed on a different “point of contact” for sinners and sufferers, whether it be failing marriages, abuse, addiction, chronic pain, or anxiety. We explore how the message of God’s incredible grace touches down into our messy lives and begins actually bring healing. The Healing Ministry in the Glennon House also continues to have a powerful impact in our community and church, along with the Order of St. Luke the Physician. THE ORDER OF ST. LUKE THE PHYSICIAN The Order of St. Luke the Physician has been having a fruitful time meeting for prayer and studying God’s Word. They studied some of the works of Canon Glennon, and have been in an ongoing bible study on the Book of Acts using a book by our Bishop-elect, Justin Holcomb. One of the key factors found in the book of Acts is that the early church continually returned to fellowship and prayer as they went about fulfilling God’s mission for the church. •

34 | allsaintswinterpark.org ANNUAL REPORT 2022 My name is Sascha Rizzo and I have had the privilege to lead the Stewardship ministry at All Saints the past three years. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary stewardship is defined as “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care”. Over the last number of years, I have had the opportunity to serve with several talented and dedicated individuals at All Saints who have embodied this definition and helped guide All Saints. As I look back over the past few years and consider the challenges we have confronted over that time (COVID and economic hardships among them) I am truly amazed how the congregation of All Saints has answered the call with ever increasing levels of generosity and support. It is obvious based on your actions that All Saints is a very important part of your lives. As a result of your generosity, we have been able to fund many ministries not only for our All Saints family but also for our surrounding community where our help is needed. In this way we are able to have a positive impact on the many who need our ministries. Be it in helping form young Christian minds thru Children’s Ministry or Youth Ministry or the pastoral care that we provide to those in need, the ministries at All Saints could not occur without your generosity. We are exercising “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care” by helping and ministering those in need in our community. From my vantage point, that is what we have been able to accomplish through our collective stewardship at All Saints. We have taken care of that which has been entrusted to us. This year’s Stewardship Campaign theme is Great is Thy Faithfulness. The thinking behind this theme is that it is our Faith that enables us to overcome the obstacles that we are confronted with in our lives and through our Faith we are able to accomplish great things. Undoubtedly, we will face challenges in the future as the needs of our congregation, community and physical campus will need our attention. I am sure that the congregation will meet these challenges head on with the generosity necessary to address these needs as they arise and ensure that All Saints and our surrounding community are better off because of our collective efforts. In 2022, All Saints Legacy Society received $1695 in thanksgiving to God and in memory of Carolyn Coleman. The Rejoice to Give Thanks Fund of the All Saints Legacy Society was started by Jeff and Myrna Endean and supports the Parish in hands-on loving service across the city and establishes effective partnerships in the Body of Christ in Winter Park and around the world. Your stewardship plans now supports All Saints mission and ministry later. - Sascha Rizzo • stewardship 2022 Careful & responsible management

endowment report 2022 ANNUAL REPORT 2022 allsaintswinterpark.org | 35 Duke Marsh Below is a brief explanation of the Endowment to keep the parish informed. Currently our Endowment Account is worth approximately $1,802,609. The purpose of the Endowment is to grow the portfolio over time which will allow it to help fund the operating budget of All Saints Church. It is invested, as most Endowments or Pension Plans are, in an allocated account of (65%) equities, (30%) fixed income investments and (5%) cash. All investments are in low-cost ETF’s (Exchange Traded Funds) for stocks, and Federally Insured CD’s and Short Maturity Bond Funds for fixed income, no individual companies are allowed in the portfolio. This allows the principal to grow while assuming an acceptable level of risk to the portfolio. At the beginning of 2009 the value of the Endowment was $919,000 which was down from about $1,260,000 at the end of 2007. As mentioned, today the Endowment had grown to over 2 million dollars, currently is just shy of 2 million and additionally has paid out over $820,000 since 2003 to All Saints Church. In 2022 we had a loss of 10.3% which was less than the benchmark for the market of 15% for similarly allocated accounts. The payout policy is conservative. Each year we reinvest CPI plus 1.5% to grow the account. Returns more than the reinvestment amount may be distributed to All Saints Church operating budget if approved by the Endowment Committee, the Vestry, and our Rector. The account has extremely low costs as the account is highly discounted and rebalancing trades are rare due to cash flow and target allocations. The account is held locally at a national brokerage firm. All the members of the Endowment Committee are also parishioners of All Saints Church. They include Dan McIntosh, Bill Battaglia, Sandy Hostetter, Geoff Lynch, and David Yergey. It has come to the attention of the Endowment Committee that there is some confusion about the value of the Endowment Fund at All Saints Church. There are not millions of dollars that will always help meet our budget. We wish that were the case. The Endowment is somewhat modest, but still is an important factor in helping fund our annual budget. Hopefully a better understanding of our Endowment Fund might lead more of our parishioners to include it in their estate planning. We have recently received gifts to the Endowment Fund and hope that this continues. • Current Balance $1,802,609 • 65% invested in Equities • 30% invested in Fixed Income Investments • 5% invested in Cash • Policy: Reinvest minimum equal to Consumer Price index plus 1.5% • 2022: $45,000 distributed to ASC Operating Account It is a pleasure to serve my church in this capacity. Thank you. -Duke Marsh •

In 2023 All Saints is looking to build upon the positive progress it has made with its finances during 2022. Your Vestry, Finance Committee and staff have all worked together to establish a balanced budget for 2023, which requires a meaningful increase to gifts and donations, while continuing to reduce costs wherever possible. You will see in column A our revenue and expenses for the 2022 Operating Fund Actuals, and the 2022 Operating Fund Budget is in column B for comparison. Income was above budget in each category except for Bequest-Easter-Christmas and Misc-Interment-Endowment, and our Total Revenue was $10,583 ahead of budget for the year. For 2022 Expenses, while five of the seven categories shown were slightly over budget, Total Expenses ended the year under budget by $5,518. The Net Balance for 2022 ended with a $136,663 deficit, which is $16,101 less than the budgeted deficit of $152,764. Column C is the 2023 Operating Fund Budget. To achieve a balanced budget, Total Revenue has been budgeted as a $113,718 increase, while Total Expenses have been reduced by $39,046.
