5 I would like to thank you for participating in the 2023 BSOF Annual Meeting. We can all agree that the last several years have been some of the most challenging of our careers. We have navigated a pandemic, a staffing crisis, continued reimbursement decreases, and regulation challenges to name a few. Yet here we stand today together still supporting, helping, and educating one another so that we can continue to move forward stronger than ever. My hope is that the Bones Society of Florida continues to be a strong and vital organization that is your go-to professional resource for orthopedics. Each year, we provide our members with continuing education opportunities on a broad array of substantive topics. These programs are shaped by our leaders and members to keep us at the forefront of the changes within our healthcare system. I’m sure we all agree that learning from one another is incredibly valuable. With that in mind, we have designed this program to cultivate opportunities for you to know your colleagues. Whether sharing ideas in an interactive program, meeting each other for lunch, or even attending a social event, we hope this conference facilitates collaboration with your peers. Having a strong professional network to draw from makes us better at our jobs, and I hope the Bones Society is that network for all of you. I am grateful for your partnership and dedication to our organization to make this all possible. I want to thank the Board, past Presidents, volunteers, and our managing organization team (Ann Margaret, Lencie, and Fraser) for all you do. I hope our Bones community continues to grow in exciting, inclusive, and innovative directions and I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of it. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” – Helen Keller Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a successful 2024! F S Revolutionizing Orthpaedic Practice Protection Founded in September 2008 by the Florida Orthopaedic Society and the Bones Society of Florida, the Florida Orthopaedic Risk Purchasing Group (FORPG) sent shockwaves throughout the malpractice insurance industry, saving Florida orthopaedic surgeons an estimated $9 million the first year alone. 15 years later, the FORPG is as strong as ever through our partnership with Risk Strategies, one of the top ten specialty insurance brokers in the nation, and the The Doctors Company, the nation’s largest physician-owned medical malpractice insurer. More than just great rates Beyond discounted malpractice insurance premiums, the FORPG offers it’s members a collection of coverage options and exclusive member benefits designed specifically to protect your practice from the modern day threats you face every day, such as our Claims Review Committee. Orthopaedic leaders from around the state continually review with our program insurer The Doctors Company, on an anonymous basis, each and every claim against any of the member insureds. These discussions have resulted in the identification of key medical and legal issues and strategies for the best defense. Isn’t it time you joined almost 350 of your peers purchasing their malpratice insurance collectivley through a strength in numbers approach?
