TUN SARDON JUBIR`S LEADERSHIP VALUES
• UNIQUE WAY OF GOVERNING
In 1951, Tun Razak and Tun Sardon jubir made a considerable unique understanding in the history of UMNO.
They agreed to swap positions, with Tun Razak
took over the post of Deputy President - the second most important person in UMNO after
Dato ’Onn, and Tun Sardon became the Head of the Youth Alliance. From there, began a new era in the history
of Youth leadership, from a movement seen as relatively passive, to a pressure movement feared
by opponents, including from the British colonialists.
• FIRM AND DRASTIC
The UMNO Youth Alliance under the leadership of Tun Sardon as the leader, and
Datuk Ahmad Badawi as the vice leader has charted a history of Youth that is quite authoritative,
decisive and drastic. In the face of the pre-independence era, Tun Sardon managed to shape
the UMNO Youth Alliance as a pressure group that no one had ever dreamed of before.
• DARE TO DEFEND HIS RIGHTS
The British felt the Youth Alliance to be a threat to their interests
so much so that they threatened to ban the alliance. But Tun Sardon
challenged the British to do so, and the Youth`s determination also had the support of
Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj who replaced Dato` Onn as UMNO President in 1951.
