FAMILIES CAN EXPECT:
Ɣ a three-way partnership between the Academy, families and students.
Ɣ an “open door” approach which enables families to contact the Academy about any
issue or concern.
Ɣ a safe and caring community in which students are encouraged to develop their
character to enable them to become resilient, self-controlled, kind, passionate and
positive individuals capable of pursuing their own personal fulfilment.
Ɣ that all students will be challenged to achieve the highest possible standards and
results in all areas of the curriculum.
Ɣ teaching of a high standard.
Ɣ that the curriculum will be broad and balanced and meet the needs of all students.
Ɣ that families will be regularly informed about students’ progress and character for
learning.
Ɣ that all problems will be dealt with promptly and according to our policies on our
website.
Ɣ that there will be regular communications from the Academy through the newsletter
and the Academy website www.wardenpark.co.uk .

ACADEMY STAFF CAN EXPECT THE FOLLOWING FROM STUDENTS:
Students will work in partnership with the Academy to achieve their best by:
ā adopting a growth mindset as much as possible. Read more here about the development
of this and its importance.
ā following the Behaviour for Learning policy, Uniform and Appearance policy, and Policy
Statement Code of Conduct for Behaviour.
ā taking responsibility for their own character development by:
Ɣ showing respect and kindness to all members of the Academy community.
Ɣ showing respect for themselves, particularly with regards to the wearing of their
uniform and in their approach to their learning.
Ɣ ensuring that they take responsibility for what they say and do and work proactively
to make amends if things go wrong.
Ɣ engaging in at least one extracurricular activity per year if possible. (If there are any
barriers to a student attending, please inform the Head of Year who may be able to
help.)
Ɣ reviewing their Character for Learning grade/feedback/targets and working
proactively to improve.
Ɣ learning to recognise when they need help and learning to ask for it when they need
it.
ACADEMY STAFF CAN EXPECT THE FOLLOWING FROM PARENTS/CARERS:
Parents/carers will work in partnership with the Academy to help their child fulfil their
academic and personal potential by:
x adhering to the Behaviour for Learning policy, Uniform and Appearance policy, and
Policy Statement Code of Conduct for Behaviour
x ensuring that their child attends the Academy regularly, punctually, properly
equipped and in the correct Academy uniform. Any issues with the above to be
communicated with the relevant pastoral team so that they can support the family in
a resolution.
x supporting the development of their child’s character by reading the literature on the
‘Character Education’ website and considering incorporating some of the strategies
therein into the home environment in order to support the work that we do with your
child during school hours.
